Paguma, after 4 games, I agree. Even in my very first game, most of the challenge came from Spacesharks and such, and they seem to have been toned down. :( Ai weaknesses (at Intelligent): -They are not too good with Transports. -They usually seem not to recognize a threat early enough. -They *should* be aware that the Human Player is more intelligent than they are -it would be legitimate if, everything else equal, they view the Human as more of a threat than each othe

Yes, the tech graphs compare amounts spent. First, you shouldn´t even know this, second, it´s irrelevant. The graphs would be more meaningful if they compared the number/value of the techs the civs *have*. :notsure: Also, in the early game the adviser always says you are behind technologically, even if you are #1! LOL

"I still think that most problems arise because it's hard to conquer in game." You are right, planetary conquests seem too hard. I also don´t understand why they cost so much population. In the game, everybody sends his entire population to war, not just the soldiers. :) And I rarely see systems change hands, except by revolt, or when *I* conquer them.

"The Gigantic simple maps are generating more points than the small Masochistic. You can add my voice to those that think that's wrong. I think you deserve more points for larger maps, but you also deserve more points for higher AIs too, and in extreme differences in difficulty of the AI, it should weigh more favourably to the difficulty, not size." Hear, hear!

Don´t be silly, SpaceGypsy. First, this was a bet, second, it doesn´t matter, anyway, since, for Evil to win, it needs the help of lots of good people. :) Seriously: Instead of nitpicking about exactly how we roast the Aliens, join G.R.O.S.S. Admit it: One-man-gangs are uncool and get nowhere, while G.R.O.S.S. is destined to rule. :p

Pontius: Chameleon tactics do better with the Torians. Move your Goodie-goodiemeter up to 70 or so, ally with them, then take away their colonies by cultural conquest; they have no defense against that. :) The Drengins: I often actually help them in the early game: "Don´t hurt me, powerful Lord Chief Master Drengin, I will give you the tribute you want, please don´t kill me!" :D :D The Drengins get powerful, yes, but they get to war with others, not me, and keep the Goodie

"What a bunch of semi-evil amateurs." We´ll look forward to see you create a 1-man-Empire and take over the Metaverse! :D Update on my game: It took 3 bloody wars to eradicate the Drengin. Now I am changing gears toward a cultural strategy. I usually start this with the Minors, because they are quite rich and influential, so if take them over first, it snowballs from there. The Alexians have already fallen to the seduction of Terran Culture, now working at the Carinoids.

Err, outdated. See the all-wrong faction descriptions, for example. They are from the Beta, I think. :D :D And still no unit table, improvements table,... Is a data collection in just a few, easy to look at pages really too much to ask? ;p

Aceans can´t invade, either. :( Current game, painful, medium: Arceans fought Drengin, Minors for years, and although they had Combat Transports, they were not able to take even one undefended planet! I mean how are Arceans, Torians supposed to win? Techwin is disabled, conquer they can´t, culturebomb they don´t (much); yes, they can endlessly delay you, but *they can´t win*. Which made this game I am playing more like a trial in patience: "You win, if you persist."

"What are your thoughts on the subject?..... Pontius" Sounds good. I must admit the Kiwis uniting was a clever move. LOL Must find an answer to that. Hello, Fairblade. Good to see you like small maps and high difficulties! Eh, Pontius: Are you OK with my general offer to top15 players to join us as a Senator? It is interesting that a majority of the Best is still unaligned. Shouldn´t we reach out to them?

I have tried it in my current game; all I noticed is I possibly got slightly more "25% tech" anomalies. Not worth it, so far.

I am all for flavour, but Torians being too stupid to invade is just silly. :( And I am all for a level playing field. If the Ai wins, I lose, period. I wouldn´t want Chessmaster to declare me "2nd Winner" once I´m mated. :p

"Having now struggled back up to 'Crippling' level, I've got a small thrill out of adapting to the AI..." Ah, Crippling Level. Excellent. From your profile, I see you match both Pontius`(5 evil wins) and my (10.000pts at high difficulty) promotion criteria, so consider joining G.R.O.S.S. and getting instant promotion to Senator! :)

Update: Captured Drengin Political Capital; made Alliance with Torians; lost half of my offensive capacity in an, err, unfortunate incident; made peace with Drengins for the time being. Drengins are currently at war with the Arceans; I am building my first Battleships; Torian status: Ally, Arcean status: Warm, Drengin status: Cool; Diplo rating: +140, Cultural Victory status 50%.

OK, my last word on this (then I´ll stop to ride the dead horse :) ): The *VERY* best thing they could do is come up with something like the Elo rating in Chess. That´s the perfect system, from a Mathematical/Fairness viewpoint. This is what I would like to see (or at least an approximation). Yes, I know this is somewhat different, because Chess is not Single Player, but Elo works if you play against a computer also. Chessmaster gives you an Elo score. In principle I don´t see

"Why would anyone want to take a screenshot..." Writing an AAR and/or Strategy Guide. Thrull: Thanks, I know that about print screen, I´d prefer a method to copy #s of shots via hotkey. It´s pretty much conventional to reserve a function key for that. Request that to be added in the expansion.
