Can you really make allies in the single player game? Every RTS that had diplomacy in it that I ever tried only had it in MP. You only found that out AFTER you bought and opened the game.
wampyre
take yer whupping like a man.
You grow tired of a booth babes in two days after you realize how dumb they are. A good game will keep your interest much longer.
Weird Ai war declarations??? That cannot be! Why, I have never heard of such a thing in a PC game! Are you sure you understand the game mechanics? Maybe the declarations are not really weird. You must dig deeper to uncover the reasons. ;) ;) :)
If I went, I'd have to go heavily sedated. I wouldnt be able to stand seeing all the cool games and not being able to come home with them. Or almost as bad: knowing a particular game was still two years away from retail.
two didnt show. Perhaps you forgot to hit submit. Now that your post is showing, whats on yer mind?
Hopefully RON is more than the standard clickfest (he who builds the biggest and the mostest the fastest kills all. Most often, his name is Kewl Doode or somesuch teen nonsense. No offense to the less than 20 somethings out there.) I got burned on on that after the first C and C, many years and thousands of RTS games ago. I have my fingers crossed for this one.
anyone with a good business card can get in (if they want to spend the money.) Makes no fifference what occupation you are really in.
If E3 allows retailers, all you have to do is make upsome fake business cards showing you run a small software store. I did it twice to get into the mens Apparel Guild show in Las Vegas when I was between careers. Of course, if the E3 show is different from all the other industry conventions, I could be wrong.
sounds good enuff for me. Thanks folks. Its off to white cowboy hat land for my next game! Cheers.
shring ideas is great. But when it comes to political discussions, there is rarely a sharing of thoughts. Its always turns into a my side/your side slugfest. Bush sucks. Oh yeah, Clinton was worse. Dems are better than Republicans etc etc blah blah blah. Yawn. I suppose it IS possible to share thoughts and ideas on politics and religion. I just have never witnessed any on any forum that didnt turn into nonsense. I suppose that if ever there COULD be good debates on those subjects, it could
ELrikk: yeah, sure, ok, fine, virtue is a good thing. But what do YOU GET WITH IT? I have this friend who often goes to the dark side. He gets techs that help him crush, destroy, mutilate, deface, murdalize, and grind other civilizations into oblivion. Other than the warm and fuzzies, my...friend...wants to know what the tangible benifits are. heh heh.
I could be wrong but isnt the only difference between stand alone downloads and updates the immediacy of the update? If so, take a pill. You can get everything that is being done to enhance the game by downloading of this web. You just dont get it the minute it becomes available. You wait a week or so. hardly a crime in my book. I've been waiting for 2 and half months already for ANOTHER update/patch and looks like I will wait for another two or three months. Waiting a week or so for these upda
It would be great to debate game concepts etc. Discussing politics (and religion) is an absolute no win, waste of time proposition. One side day, one side night. One side right, one side wrong. Never a compromise. Why bother unless you just want to hear yourself talk? Discussion og GalCiv and other games pluses and merits would be good fun though.
Wow! how does it feel to be so virtuous? I never had that happen to me...though I have gone red with scary music plenty of times. I'm sick of orange/yellow. I've got to try a walk on the good side!! Gary, what benefits are you getting under the good alignment? Is it worth it?
That could be a good idea as long as everyone stays civil, if you get my drift. Say no more, nudge nudge.
Bobo thank Mike. Bobo also tell wampyre to cooling off. Wampyre rude talking to Ant so Bobo say him sorry. Also Bobo take over keyboard. Tell wampyre go watch tv.
Dont get you shorts in a bunch Ant. My pet Bobo was not adressing YOU. ( By the way, did you design Moo2? You sound like you had a part in it.) Good thing I put him back in the cellar and he didnt see your rude post. Hes VERY sensitive. However, if you feel the need to argue with an ape, be my guest, Mr. Grownup.
duh. I didnt know there WAS a find SYSTEM. Better pay more attention..........
Bobo sad for you. If no can tell progress in game, Bobo think not know how to play game. Bobo not know which Moo is talking. If Moo2, Bobo say him agree...is big challange on hard level. If Say challange on Moo3, Bobo laugh. Bobo like Moo3 but is no challange. Is no matter what level. Planets in GalCiv not like planets in Moo. Bobo have big secret to tell: GalCiv NOT Moo. All games different. Like Moo better than GalCiv is ok. Not crime. But not expect all games to be like favorite game.
click on the find button. It will go thru each ship (sequencially) that hasnt moved. If all ships have moved, you hear a weird sound. If you hear that, hit end turn.
Still did not address the major AI photo on the minor civ diplomacy screen. It had been mentioned before when on v1.02 came out. No biggie but hopefully it will be corrected in subsequent versions?
The game can be played without the CD in the drive. Who's to say the guy sold/traded you his CD but is STILL PLAYING the game. He can still get downloads if he copied the cd key before you got it. Its not Stardocks responsibility to determine if he really took it off his computer before you got it. Bottom line...buy used software and LIVE with the consequences. You want 100% support, buy original software. Its a cruel world out there bucko, learn to deal with the choices you make. Cheers.
Build transports and load colonists onto them when your planets get overcrowed. That helps morale. Transport ships dont have maintenance costs (at least up to v1.02 they dont.)Just park em until you need them to invade your enemies planets. Propaganda should help planets with low morale but I use as a stop gap measure...until I can build morale improvements. Ypur transport ship, after getting defense and offense bonuses can become one of YOUR BEST MILITARY SHIPS. At least in early to mid gam
Look on the bright side. Even if you cant register for updates, you still have one of the best games to come out in recent memory. Out of the box its great. The updates and bonus packs add nifty enhancements, but there was nothing wrong with the game to begin with. If you never had another update, its still better than 98% of the games that are already out there. On the darker side, a valuable lesson is learned. When buying/trading second hand software, you take your chances. That goes for s
