>:( I sure hope Stardock can come up with something to trace and ban those darn pirates! It should be possible, since fake cd keys for Warcraft III or AOM never work and I thought it would be just like that for GalCiv :(
LordTheRon
From the history (and now I'm really off to play ;) Bob this is the Stardock Central patch btw, not the 'website patch'. 1.02 April 15, 2003 -turns autolaunch off after invasion/defect/trade star -fixed bug where game always opened planet data screen with sol, even if it had been invaded/traded -fixed slider cras on trade screen introduced in 1.02.40. -fixed a bug where fleets had flaky hit detection if they were moving off screen -s
Looks like a promising update indeed. Meese out playing :) ~SDC~
I've had one CTD myself but after a few mails with Cari from Stardock the problem was solved.
It would be real smart if he found the cd key that is leaked around the net and tried to logon to Stardock Central with that key. That would make him EXTRA smart ;p .
Sure looks like one though! It's in disguise but I'm pretty sure it IS a bump ;p
My goodness... don't tell me you're really from the same country I'm from... :sniff!:
Tomas, they are, but if you have a lot of CTD's it's a sign that your computer doesn't run the game completely stable (whatever the reason may be). So it would be wise to stick with the most stable version of the game, thus the thoroughly tested major updates. The incremental builds are very quickly released patches. Those haven't been tested very well.
Just voted and here are the current results, we're gaining: Galactic Civilizations 446 (23%) Hegemonia: Legions of Iron 90 (5%) Impossible Creatures 204 (11%) Master of Orion III 160 (8%) Praetorians 171 (9%) SimCity 4 829 (44%)
And now you must cut down the biggest oak in the forest with... a herring!!! ~SDC~
Brad has stated in one thread (dunno which one anymore) that he's working on how the AI handles starbases. I know that's a different issue than this thread handles, but it in 'on his radar' I'd say.
LOL :) I'm the most upset with the Altarians in my current game. Soon we'll both be left in the galaxy although I'm desperately trying to fund the Arceans to put up a fight too. I extorted the Drengins to the maximum yesterday. Man that was fun :) They came crying for peace and I gave it to them for a huge starbase, a star system, nano-electronics and 100 for 50 months. Boy were they desperate. The only have one starsystem left, surrounded by my ships. You're right abo
Yeehaa! Starships are coming :) Keep it up Stardockians, great job.
Hmm that's something to look at for the devs I think. I'll try it out myself tonight. I think it has to do with the loading, not with the normal game. Loading sometimes causes other troubles too, like the temporary loss of culture.
Never happened to me. Is this only in the latest version?
Dreadnoughts a mistake I made in the game I'm playing. I was the only one with the tech and at war with the Altarians. I needed money so I traded this valuable technology to the weak Torians and got very good money for it. But those bastards traded it rightaway to the Altarians (or the Altarians extorted it from the Torians) so now the Altarians are hunting me. Time to make peace I guess... for now ;) ~SDC~
Ok then, should work for me. Gonna get to Excalibur research tonight in my huge galaxy game (if I can stay at peace with the Altarians).
But he would have been very ignorant if he missed out on the woeful MOO3 AI?
If it's a bug because everybody misses the excalibur.mdl file it shouldn't be that hard to fix for Stardock. So why hasn't it been fixed then? Note: I haven't been able to use Excaliburs myself yet, but looking at all the complaints this sure looks like a bug.
And another review is up: 8.5 and editor's choice http://www.entdepot.com/pc/galacticcivilizations/review.php Pretty good review, but it misses out on a few important game aspects.
I think they had 'exclusive first publishing rights' for MOO3, that explains ;)
I think just the fix for the diplomacy slider. ~SDC~
Well that would make sense, but I've been attacked by invisible ships. So they were definitely within sensor range. Also, they DO show up on the minimap but are invisible on the main map.
Yeah I would like to know this too. Last time the Drengins had invisible Dreadnoughts, but not all of them. How does it work?
Well I had my first major crash also yesterday. The error file is under investigation by Stardock right now. I was playing with the 1.02.036 patch when it happened. What do you mean by corruption Chaos? Graphics?
