For me too, but a lot of people DO panic when they restart the computer and it says that there's no OS available.
LordTheRon
True, but this is not about the total score. The main argument is about the 2 stars he gave for intelligence and difficulty and for accusing the AI of cheating, while obviously it doesn't cheat.
Geo: He was talking about the homeworld of the Yor. They could have easily had two planets in that system. If you purchase a ship on both planets, there you go. Sure it's a desperate measure by the Yor, but they were in a desperate position so what else could they have done. The reviewer might have not expected this to be possible, thus accusing the AI of cheating. As a reviewer I think you can only accuse AI of this when you have proof and not when you think you have proof. <b
I find it really sad that a lot of people here, but also reviewers are accusing the AI of cheating, just because they cannot match the AI right from the beginning. When reviewing Chessmaster 9000 playing it on the medium level, would this reviewer accuse Chessmaster from cheating too? I think not. This just shows incompetence. The reviewer should have played more games before accusing the AI of cheating. It just seems that people aren't ready to believe what this AI
I was in really bad shape James. Thought the Corvettes might save me, but they were now match for the sturdy Drengin Frigates and Battleships.
"Let me put things in perspective, a week and a half ago Stardock central was deleting people's C:\ root and the posts from thta haven't been nearly as hostile and demanding as some of the posts in the last 48 hours." That's because the people who hung around here during the launch of the game had followed the development of the game, thus they knew that the little Stardock team is a highly involved team trying it's best to give the players the best. Looking at the schedules you guys ha
Not always the Drengins get lucky. I got 72 Corvettes yesterday, but sadly was in such a bad shape that I couldn't keep the Drengins from conquering my worlds, not even with 72 Corvettes.
Have you tried this out on various difficulty levels and checked this with all the races? If it's the same all the time on every difficulty level, I agree. Then it should be more varied. The Altarians or Torians shouldn't be that warminded. But for now I can hardly believe these picks are mostly the same for all races, till somebody has tests and confirms this.
If the devs say that the AI doesn't cheat, the AI doesn't cheat or the devs are lying. I don't think the devs are lying so obviously either the AI's pick warparty or make sure they have military ability picks chosen. That's fair and square, nothing wrong with that as the player can make the same decisions.
Something for the faq this one I'd say!
I thought Brad posted that a beta-editor for ships is coming soon.
Well this can be more than just warparty. - They could have picked military abilities. - They could have found military resources. - They could have researched military upgrades.
Maybe this could be something for a bonuspack as I would love to see such a feature too!
Javascout is right tradegoods can be licensed to anyone you want. Where did you read the rule that you can only license one Olaf? It's not in my manual as far as I can tell.
Jeff is totally right. The bigger the bonus, the bigger the penalty when you lose control. Nothing wrong with that.
Great thing about Irfanview is that is resizes the picture to the papersize you have in your printer. That way it gets the whole picture on one piece of paper :) ~SDC~
E-Tigger: Download Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ Divide the the whole file in four pieces (something like 1137x1925) . Select one fourth (just by dragging the mouse having the left button pressed) and press ctrl+c. Open up a new irfanview window and press ctrl+v. You can then save the quarter or print it right away. If you print all quarters on A4 paper (Irfanview does this beautifully!) you can easily glue/seal/tape them together. I have a very nice A2 size techtree now.
I think Azakain means genius instead of bright. Bright is one level below intelligent. On intelligent all the algorithms are used by the AI right Brad? fool beginner sub-normal normal bright intelligent genius incredible My information is that the AI only gets a tax bonus at incredible or perhaps a very small bonus on genius. On intelligent I'm a 100% sure it plays fair. It just (as Brad explained quite a few times already) plays sm
I just cut them up using Photoshop, but there's a nice freeware programm called Irfanview which makes it also possible to cut the picture in say 4 pages.
I see your point, but I just don't think it fits this game. But I'm no dev, so maybe they want to do something with your ideas. Planets do get better during the game BTW. More planets become colonizable later in the game, just not all of them.
Seems to me you're looking for a copy of MOO2. This isn't MOO and I wouldn't want this to become MOO. Far too much micromanaging for my taste in MOO2 late game. I like it that GalCiv keeps the whole planet classes plain and simple, but tastes differ of course. I don't know what the devs have planned, but I don't think they have these features in the pipeline.
Well the AI isn't at 'full thinking' on normal, so just try a higher difficulty level and it should be a different scenario. I haven't tried higher levels yet, since I'm getting smoked on normal and the AI's DO attack me. Are you sure you're using the latest version of the game? BTW six games won and none submitted to the Metaverse?
Yeah Za H, ask Brad if he can up it in the library. I'm sure, like the rest of us, he'll find that it's a very good quality techtree.
So you're too good for Normal, just like you said, move over to Bright or Intelligent and get your ass kicked ;) Brad has explained that the AI only reaches it's topform on genius level (incredible it gets bonuses as you can read in the new faq pages). It WILL find ways to outproduce you military on the higher levels. I think it's logical that the AI players won't declare war on you when you are the strongest military. Wouldn't make that much sense for them. If you REA
More detailed planets? Explain please. Just don't bother with level 12 planets since it's very hard to get them going. During the game these planets can get slowly better though so it might be worth to colonize them after all later in the game. You can set the number of habitable planets to abundant in the setup screen. Just depends on the type of game you want. Do you want lots of planets to colonize, choose abundant. Do you want a race between all the races for those few habi
