Update GalCiv via sdc, then use the download/archive thing. I think. ~SDC~
I don't believe any of the things you mention, save "Deep Space Nine", have any Trademark or Copyright attached to them. Keep fishing, though. ;)
If there's a ship limit, it's broke: http://icewind.dyndns.org:81/ships.jpg LOL ~SDC~
Woohoo! Got mine today, too. No manual, though. :( Just a "getting started" card and the CD in a nice DVD case.
It seems that maybe AI only uses (and exploits a bug in) autolaunch when it takes over your system which already had autolaunch enabled. Just a guess, but this problem has killed two of my games. I guess I shouldn't let them take my systems. ;)

I ain't too smart, but I would think it would be DirectDraw since there's no 3d in the game.
I'm retarded...I have no idea where to email this
Er...not that the "Destroy Colony" is a gamestopper, but the crazy ship production sure is.
Looking at the subject line for this thread I think I may come off as a naysaying ass. Frogboy and others, please know that the bugs outlined here are not indicative of my overall sentiment toward GalCiv! The game is great, which makes it all the more frustrating to stumble across game-stoppers like these.
"It's your game though, I mean, it's a bug but nothing forces you to ruin it for yourself." Actually this particular game was ruined prior to discovering this bug, as evidenced by the link at the top. ;)
Well I'd say the continuous pumping out of ships is a bug that was introduced kinda recently, yes?
Wow MrChoke...you may want to see the ol' eye doctor or adjust the monitor. To me, at least, they're very clearly yellow and green.
Heh...well, all would be ok aside from the 800 or so constructors the Arcaeans are sitting on. ;)
Bah...see http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=40137&MaxReplies= for the above with actual working links. :)
Correction: I destroyed the EARTH colony, not Sol in its entirety.
(See Link for backstory) I loaded up this save game, and you know how you get the research screen followed by the planet screen? Well, after clicking Done on the Research screen, I was taken to Earth, which would make sense if Sol hadn't been conquered by the Arcaeans LONG ago (see Link). So there I am with control of Earth which happens to be building Arcaean constructors. So for fun I click the "Details" button followed by the "Destroy Colony" button. Imagine my surprise when IT WO

Several times (more times than I'm comfortable with) I've seen ships stack on systems (not in orbit). Now that can't be right, can it?
Heh...honestly, I could have done without him as Sam in SC. Everytime he spoke I pictured that shiny head and couldn't mesh it with the hero in front of me.
Gotta be Ironside
The Arcaeans have some constructors you can borrow if you need some: http://icewind.dyndns.org:81/ships.jpg ~SDC~
:) Still waiting on the sector full o' Terror Stars, Dearmad! ~SDC~
I feel that Dearmad's important achievement deserves a bump. ;)
