Well, I thought I was a slow player, but now I wonder if I'm not even slower than I thought. I play medium only this far (I mean, most of my games). If I loose, I do so in the first 50 turns. If I win, I think I isually get way past 2220 (I don't know why O have this figure in mind, I guess I don't check the date much beyond that point: if I'm alive by then, I'm usually just passing turns in order to win.
Terl decided that he may use the new Sartre Missile, you know, the one of the "doesn't matter class"
Hello Terl. This sounds quite an evil weapon: I guess it bores enemy troops to death ;) (although I usually get laballed as leftist, I'm not very fond of Sartre). I couldn't play very much this week end(an optimistic way of saying not at all, I just thought/imagined my game). And now, I'm back at work :( But I'm thinking about starting a painful/ huge or
Well like I said I decided I was feeling cocky since I'd put the spank on the old AI so bad. I was even thinking of changing my nic to AISpankFest or AISpankMaster... you know something good like that to really let the world know my achievements and abilities. Well I have to confess that I just just forced myself to crawl back out from under the covers from the spankin I took a couple hours ago.
oldgamster I can relate to that! :D I play small to medi
#93 by Citizen vandycan - 1/15/2004 8:28:33 PM I'd like that answered too... I just paid $70 2 weeks ago to get the game, and would like at least a regular beta-release schedule for my trouble. What dev. methodology are you using? Vandycan, Can you?
Vandycan, I don't know if there was any news on the subject, but in the galciv homepage there was a post by Frogboy earlier (6 jan. I think) this month saying that the next release would be in about 2 weeks. So we may be jus
1:38 am here. I just noticed the passage of time. This game is too good :) Good night everyone. ~SDC~
C'mon workday get done!!!!!
Good luck! I'm already enjoying my sip of vodka. Cheers! :) ~SDC~
how you can finish a game as "good" at all after exterminating an entire species with 8 terror stars
Well, some things do never change: history is always (or close to it) written by the winning side ;p So I guess they can say whatever they want afterwards... It seems like I cannot get out of here today. Nice talking to you Terl! ~SDC~
LOL ~SDC~
The other trick is to play for a while, save, go do something with her, then sneak back to the game for a while
Quite devious and cunning. But hey, who cares as long as it is effective LOL ~SDC~
I'll read it after my wife is in bed. Otherwise she will stay by my side critiscizing (:( She doesn't understand the burden of defending the galaxy Away for dinner now ~SDC~
Of course there is always the technique of dropping the shot, glass and all into the beer and consuming it that way. Boy, the things I learned while in the infantry
Hey Terl, I know that one: it was in a german bar in south of Brazil. After 5 or 6 of those, ... well, I don't know, I can't remember LOL At home at last. Sorry for you guys in other time zones ;) . Time to realize a few of the dreams we've been talking about: eating, drinking and playing ( :CONGRA
Well people, nice talk. Very little work done. So it would seems there is little point in my staying at the office. So... let's go home :D . See you later, when I'm in a much more nice place! (I'm not sure that "much more nice" is good english, but it sounds better than my original "much more nicer" ...) [Message Edited]
Nastavnik goborite bi parusski?
Niet. In fact not really: my wife is russian, so I'm picking it little by little (so i know what she is saying when she starts complaining in russian...). But mostly all of what i pick up that way are not very nice things to say ...
I want some pirashki and kvas. I miss those things.
I just called her to check on that: and indeed, I do miss that too. And the Zakuski with the vodka (zakuski are all t
#9 by Senator CariElf - 1/15/2004 10:52:28 AM I had weird things happen when I just put the files in my mods folder. I would back up the other files to a zip file or something and put them in the normal data directory.--Cari
I guess I was just lucky then. I think it's clear I don't have your tactful touch :)
As a chaser!
I just looked up what that is. I must confess that I had no idea people do usually have "a mild drink (as beer) taken after hard liquor ". I shall try that ;) [Message Edited]
I was leaning toward setting the home office at those facilities anyway. Then maybe off to Paris for the spring time (it is pretty in the spring).
Good idea. Just before the awfully hot summer. Since i guess it is my local branch, I can give you all a tour around! :D (And protect you from the natives: every english speaking person here is called a "putain d'amerloque" --- you don't want to know the translation. Not very nice) And we can soon expand with th
Oh, we'd also have the secret wing, that would identify someone in need and we would take care of them anonymously. You know, watching the news we see a family burned out of their house and stuck, we just buy them a new one...no press, no glory, they just get presented with a house by a "front man" they can't track back.... Someone needs to go to college but no bucks? They get an anonymous GalCivver scholarship... it would be fun...
Yes, it can feel nice to be nice :)
Oh my god: how many posts I missed while writing my previous one! That is a really big discussion. Only the caipiroska is missing (vodka, ice, lemon, sugar) and the sunny beach :)
That was a nice dream. Can I come visit? Maybe my wife can distract yours from interrupting our gaming. they can go complain together while picking up stones and shells :) By the way, I know a beach just like that in Brazil (sighs). terl, I think that company can become a really big multinational! Thought I would work from home, I wouldn't mind visiting headquarters (you know, the one where they say "front line? which front line?") and the recreation facilities Shalom was dreaming
I am at work too Don't tell.... There are a few of us that post from work, I think, so you are not alone. I too, would rather be home playing.
Yes. Everytime I check the forum I have to keep an eye out for people passing by. Thus some spelling problems (what a good excuse for a poor english :p ). Someone is coming. *goes back to work*, at least it should look like that if noone pays a lot of attention ;p Back for a quick word: Hello Ray. It has
Nastavnik: Your English is very good by the way
*blushes* Thanks Terl. By the way, finally someone who plays medium too !! :) And your cat does look a little on the dangerous side does he not? But I guess it all depends on whom he is aiming at ;p And Shalom, you'll see in a few days (with some luck and a bit a good old fashioned common sense) those posts will be far behind even though you may not want to talk to some people (which is q
Hello everyone. Long time no seen (my fault). Shalom, I too have noticed there was some tension in the forum lately -- I tried to keep track of what was happening (too bored at work). But Shalom, I do agree with Terl: I saw there was some flaming between you and some special forces, but that's no reason to leave the forum. And even if as I said, things were a little rough lately (I had my own experience in the environmental thread, with Maxtipherous) I don't think it's accurate (in
