It's my biggest request at this point.

I want a cheeseburger.
You should have played the game when it was 1.01. Get a zoo breakout on turn 3 that wipes out the galaxy. Now THAT was frustrating.
They do always seem to be the buttholes of the galaxy. The Arceans always seem to do well, followed by the Drengin, the Torians, and the Altarians. I always try and make friends with the Yor to see if I can get them to flip to me when they inevitably surrender.
Lately I've been experimenting with Pacifists + max bonus to influence. This really only works if you're playing as a good civ and can stay out of too many conflicts. Even on a gigantic map you can flip systems like dominos. The real fun in GalCiv - and one of the major failures of MoO3 - is that taking different racial picks radically changes the game. It's fun to try completely different things because they really make you approach the game differently.
All I have to say is, if you see an enemy constructor heading into a corner of your territory you haven't explored yet, either blast it or get your own constructor there first PRONTO!
Gotta go with PBP on this one. That long demanding, angry post is full of half-baked demands that wouldn't add to the game and demands for features that are already there.
De flim is okey dokey!
I don't know exactly how much, but it's pretty big. "Vast" is a pretty good word for it. It's a must on a gigantic galaxy so you can see your enemies massing strength before they get to you.
I would love to see this implemented.
For anyone who cares, MoO3 is now -$2.01 at Amazon. They'll pay you two bucks to take it from them. [edit] Whoops, sorry, didn't see this had already been posted! The news is so incredible, it's worth hearing twice. [Message Edited]
I've done #1, but only with everyone set to pure good.
Creative gives you a small chance of finishing the tech you are researching on the next turn instead of the number of turns it should take. Not as cool as one might hope - you're better off putting the point into research if you want a "creative" race.
There's no problem leaving this "feature" in. If you use it, you: 1) Have already won the game anyway to be wasting your time and resources like this 2) Are pretty pathetic As long as the AI doesn't exploit it, it doesn't matter to me one whit.
If the question is between Metaverse scoring and gameplay, no offense to all those "empires" out there, but the Metaverse can take a flying leap.
Actually, all those "useless" social improvements can be useful in the right situation, under the right strategy. If you puruse an economic race, you can easily find that even at spending of 100%, you make money. Creating a few high-capacity research or influence worlds can be a big benefit in this case. Build all the + to influence projects and create a few culture palaces around a PQ 30 or higher world, and watch your influece in that sector jump to 100,000+ on bigger maps. It's en
You can have multiple trade routes with the same planet. Try being an evil SOB on a tiny map and do all your trading with a minor civ's home planet.
I think good and evil are fairly well balanced. Evil is so tempting, but it gets very difficult to recruit allies and those Fundamentalists will pop up and kick your heinie. I usually go chaotic good, taking only the +PQ events.
Mine won't post anymore. Really annoying. The first few games worked fine, now for no reason, it just hangs the program and doesn't post anymore.
Here I thought this thread was going to be about the Pirate random event...
I know technically it's none of our bleeping business, but I'd love to know too. I'd love to stack it against MoO3.
Up to this point, I've really only been using two governors. A "high quality" for PQ >=20 and a "low quality" for all others. The low builds only what I think every colony needs, while the high gets a number of other, more expensive upgrades. Really great planets (30 or higher) I tend to micro-manage, using them mostly for production of wonders and trade goods. I'm not sure how I'll manage the governors as I gain more experience. One of the biggest steps for me in the learning curve
Totally depends on the style of game being played. If I have +10 or 15 PQ, that can change my starting position strategy a lot. Same for map size. I don't like to re-roll starting positions since that feels kinda like cheating to me, but a lousy position in this game is a killer. If I have a good Earth (base 18 or higher) and at least one other good planet visible from the get-go, that's usually good enough for me to start.
Thanks Brad. I'll probably hold off and keep playing 49 for now.
Does this version fix the annoying wrong race picture/diplomacy screen snafu? So far I've managed to avoid giving gifts to my enemies, but it's getting to be grating to be fooled into thinking I'm talking to the Arceans when it's really the I-League...
