Last night, as I stayed up until midnight, utterly unable to stop myself from playing, it was Ulver's "Ten Years of the Machine", followed by Therion's "Lucid Dreaming".

Actually, Phaedyme, Fin Fang Foom turned out to be Jormungand in disguise the whole time.
I realize there was another thread on this a couple of days ago, and I apologize for bringing this up again - but I am still a little uncertain as to what these two race picks do. "Creativity increses [sic] the chance that you'll get a technology sooner, it's a random event type thing. Luck works similarly." - Frogboy Does this mean that creativity will re-arrange the tech tree? I've been under the impression that it is quite static. Have I just been way off b
I too would like to see morale made a little tougher. It was pretty harsh pre-nerf, but post-nerf, I always end up with tons of planets not building anything in the social queue because the only things left are morale buildings that I don't need. Still, this is something that should be easy to adjust... a simple value switch in a spreadsheet somewhere. It's a little too easy to keep people happy - I feel like a little bit of the strategy has ebbed away with the morale nerf. Of cour
Espionage can help prevent certain negative random events. Destabilization, so far, does seem completely useless to me. Perhaps I just haven't figured out how to use it properly yet.
ROFL. Me too.
Um, Ichi? Are you sure you don't get to that "special skool" by riding the little yellow bus?
Does it really matter? If an enemy AI has over 90% culture rating, your last few planets WILL defect sooner or later, ensuring a de facto cultural victory for the AI. I've had a game where I was hanging on until one of the other majors starting building up starbases, and all my systems started flipping... falling like dominoes from the outside in. That counts as a cultural victory for the AI in my book.
Choose Evil, my son. Embrace the Dark Side.
The only one I'm concerned with is #3, as #2 is currently being assessed and #1 isn't all that big a deal, although if I played on "gigantic" it might be.
I so thought this was going to be a spam for some porn website. It's legit, albeit not a design doc - either a design overview or a bit of extensive copy.
Last night I played listening to Ulver's Vargnatt and Bertgtatt albums. A fine combination of passion and chaos.
SDC works flawlessly again for me... running the latest on everything and so far it seems great. (I'm about to win my FIRST GAME... woo HOO!)
From hints Brad has dropped, there is already quite an extensive back story sitting around, waiting to be organized and released. I'd wait to see what he chooses to do with it before beginning any fan fiction.
You must be playing at the lower difficulty levels. ;)
I rather like the "good" interface. Makes me feel all angelic and lovey-dovey. The icons don't make much sense, but hey... they still have hover info.
I feel kind of lucky... Stardock Central worked for me first time up. I've never had a problem. I admit it's a bit... encroaching... to have to use the system for all the little updates and whatnot, but so far it's worked out fine for me.
akaste, are you sure about that? I haven't noticed that in-game...
LOL. Isn't this all jumping the gun a bit? I have so much left to learn about the game, I don't think it will be mod time for quite a few months...
Wow... I just don't know what to do with all this customer service... I feel so... helped.
Is it just me, or is coming to a developer's site to inform him that you've pirated his software... and then complaining about a "bug"... incomprehensively idiotic?
I think the planet quality RE is one of the ones that got adjusted in the first patch. It really pissed me off, too, when it was directly responsible for a loss I had. I haven't seen it since 1.01A, though.
I doubt there will be new major races as each race has its very own AI routine. That would be a bit much to ask for. Still, with a whole year ahead of us... hey! I'm like a kid in a candy store (that just won a shopping spree). It's a bit dizzying to think what Stardock could do in a year - although I'm sure they will move on to other projects as well. Right now I'm happy with addressing balance issues, minor bugs, and what is up next on my list of things to be fixed: typos
I admit I haven't had the game long enough to playtest it very much (but boy, am I anxious to get home from work today!), but so far I'm really enjoying the good vs. evil aspect. I've read numerous complaints about evil being overpowered, but I'm not sure about that. Try being consistently good. Other good civs will really, really behave like they "should", i.e., they won't suddenly declare war for no reason, they'll send you supplies when you're fighting evil, they'll make it easier
The ONLY reason Stardock got my $40 is the complete and utter failure of MoO3. If I had enjoyed MoO3, Brad would not have my money... it's that simple. And so far, my enjoyment of GalCiv after 6-8 hours of play is about twenty times my level of enjoyment after 45 hours of MoO3. Playing GalCiv just makes me more and more disgusted at how awful MoO3 really is, and what a burned-out shell of a company QS is. I'm finding issues with GalCiv, but my first major complaint (game-ki
