Heck. It's the only thing keeping me alive in my current game. I've been beaten down to one sector by the Drengin (who else?), but my starbase farm is giving me +20 to attack or something like that. They come in, but they don't get out. Still, I'm sure it's yet another loss. I'll never give up, though! GraaaaaAAAAAH!!!

I'm not questioning competitiveness. This I understand. I'm just wondering if there's an actual competition going on, and what the rules are. If one empire has 45 people cranking out 3 games a day on easy, is that somehow superior to an empire of 5 guys submitting a higher-difficulty win every other day? Or does the scoring account for this?

I don't think I understand this "galactic map" thing at all. What is it? Is it just the aggregate of the metaverse scores for the respective members, where there is no control over how many members are in each "empire"? How is winning this an accomplishment? What does one guy sitting in his parents' basement playing GalCiv 20 hours a day (not going to name any names *cough*, submitted 30+ games, *cough*) have to do with me, and my metaverse "score"? Or is there actual

Actually, a major breakthrough in the learning curve of MoO2 is when you realize just how much can be done if you DON'T take "creative". That said, perhaps the +PQ is a bit overpowered. I'm still getting killed, though, so I'm not going to really start complaining yet!

They look fairly similar to me as well, and I am not color blind. (Just checked 3 weeks ago to get new glasses!) However, they are only slightly similar, not the same. It's a pretty minor gripe for me.

1.02 is much better. Before, the sharks and other events would just wipe me the F out before I had a chance to roll. To me, that was no fun. Actually, it was a game killer. Stardock responded quickly, and now after patching, those events still happen, but only much later when there's a chance to deal with it. So far, I think the balance is much, much improved.

Hmmm. I'm a little confused too. Your economy is an aggregate, not an average. How can adding a PQ 15 world ever HURT your economy? It will produce a world that is well behind your PQ 20 planets, true, but I simply don't understand while it will be a drawback... maybe pre-nerf when morale was still a huge issue? At that point you would have to spend more money to improve morale. That's my only possible guess.

I'm about to make the leap to "normal" (or whatever it's called). I'm about to beat my 3rd game in a row on beginner, and I'm almost ready to take the plunge. Such is life when you have to actually pay attention to work and family and can only game for about 1 hour a day!

I am the type of guy who will re-load after a collosal blunder, but I find I really don't in this game. In GalCiv, if I get hosed it's not because of something I did last turn, it's because of something the AI did 15 turns ago and I didn't catch on. I'm not going to replay that far back, so I just chalk it up to a learning experience and start a new game.
