Running version 1.02.042 Have a reliable CTD save game. It happens during the AI resolution, so I am not sure what exactly is triggering it. If interested, contact me at my registered email.

MoO3 is its own unique brew. We will never know what the game was meant to be, because that design crew got tossed, along with lots of their work, so MoO3 got released this year. What I know that the original team were out to do... bring more MoO to MoO. Not just update its graphics, but build the ultimate mix of 1 & 2, while adding in some new things. That took too long, and hence... Other then that... it's a 4x Galaxy Conquest game. You can always find someone willing to play
It announces it as a random event. Freya, it doesn't sound like that improved his fun. It's no fun to have a good game decided by such a random event. Just another reason to allow players to choose to have them, or not, at game setup.
What's the big deal? You can still build all the capitals you want via the Generic manager. Especially since Frogboy missed the point that if the French captured DC, it wouldn't result in them having 2 capitals... Paris and DC. A captured capital shouldn't be worth much to you. Other then bragging rights, so long as capitals are ment to be unique per race. It's game mechanics and play balance. How much of the infrastructure and people survive when you capture something
Freya, I guess will will just have to agree to disagree then. Even though you are wrong... ;) Random events tend to destabilize a game. When you are significantly ahead, you can usually take a random event hit, and it won't mess with you too much. Just 'spice' the game play slightly. Unless it is something particularly nasty, of course. Like your enemy finding 86 Battle Cruisers when everyone just has Star Fighter tech. ;) From a 'Make all customers happy' point of view, simply
It's a data patch only. And the MoO3 boards are taking heat over it. It's a stop gag measure, something to help out the fans, until the real patch comes out. QS has an option in their MoO3 contract to be allowed to do MoM2 *if* MoO3 was a success. I don't know the exact terms... but MoO3 was a success in pre-orders alone, from what I heard. (Good thing too, as word got around it wasn't all that its fans had dreamed of pretty fast.) And it would be hard to be the ultimate MoO, since ther
There are certainly some CTD bugs still in the game. You want Ironman? Just don't save and reload. Since Culture is yet to be fixed, you cannot get Cultural victory easily if you are reloading all the time.
I've had a few games ruined by nasty events at the start or early in the game. Like Space Sharks, Prison Break, Space Sharks, Prison Break, Space Sharks, Prison Break (back to back, exactly like that, while I, Mr. Tech Lead, had just gotten Corvettes. Whee!). Random events tend to ruin TBS games, rather then improve them. Lately, it hasn't been that nasty, but nothing worse then a string of bad luck that wipes out every game you start one evening. Where's the fun in that?
So far, star bases are fine for me. I can invest all those constructors trying to improve my ability to build constructors locally, or I can invest all that time into resource mining, improving everything, or I can invest into extending my range to get to a few more worlds the AI hasn't gotten to you or ... It's all in how LONG you play as well. At least, that is what I'm gathering. I've seen the AI go star base hunting. It's taught me to make sure that somewhere betwe
Actually, you just have to go build at one base. Look over the list. Notice any new modules? I find this works fine for me. It is only when I get some module techs out of order that I miss that I can now build them (The 3rd module in the series before the second).
I've had no difficulty going good or evil in Medium galaxy sizes. Aside from the 'landing' events, there are other out of the blue random events. However, if the number of morale choices events are recorded in the Metaverse game data, then Star Dock could look those over and see if on average the first point to go Good/Evil is occurring to late/never in the Medium games. In which case, you scale up for the smaller galaxy sizes. ;)
I didn't have that much trouble to start with. I had noticed that I didn't even need to pay attention whatsoever to morale under version 42. And I'm not a die hard player (not playing at the upper levels yet. Still working on graduating to them at this time.)
Version 1.02.042 Drengin have established 2 trade routes to my empire. I thought this was illegal? Or is that some evil tech I do not know about? Have saved game demonstrating this.
LOL! I would like those issues addressed as well. However, I think GalCiv was well worth the money I spent on it. Very good game, as is! Heck, they've already improved it since I first bought it. Looking forward to it continuing to be improved. :D
I think the 16bit is needed for the animations. You know, the anomolies and such. That's my first guess, anyways.
1.02.041 Typo: In planetary detail screen: "Colonized in [Date X], [World Y] has become one of the nicer places to reside in the [Player Empire Name]. An abundance of mineral-rich land, clean air, and fresh water_" Note the quoted "_" character. Needs to be replaced with proper punctuation.
The generic governor still can build all the one time things regardless. Also, uniques being built do not clear out of the being built que.
Version 1.02.040 2 errors in the diplomacy screen. (Chatting with Drengin) String not found in place of 'Leave' on Leave button. Sliders for them to pay money for something extends well beyond both the right and left edge of the sliders. Both amount and number of turns sliders.
Version 1.02.040 Typo in Event: "Scouts report that a strange wormhole has __oppened__ ..." Should be __opened__
Try the bonus pack via the DOWNLOAD link here. If they haven't updated that, it is the older bonus pack and update to 1.01.029, IIRC.
Er, as I dimly recall, it was just a few seconds for me.
FYI: Brad isn't part of the SDC team. He's part of the GalCiv team.
Version 1.02.040 Odd UP Issue. Only Drengin and I are in the UP. UP Issue: have Arceans give us 3 percent of their economy. Seems... odd.
An update with a user request to save users bother, and improve time spent on fun play. Very nice indeed! :CONGRAT:
To ALL: ********** Frogboy ********** says that there are **** NO **** multimedia updates in the current update. It is a time change issue that has caused the multimedia to be changed. No worries as no real update. He posted that in another thread here.
