We need skirmish options. I should be able to set the mode, number of players, and map to narrow down the results. If suitable partners can't be found quickly, I should get a prompt showing the game information I'm about to be entered into where I can choose if it's OK.

Right click your shortcut (or create one to the demigod.exe file) and add them after the end of target (in WinXP). You could make multiple shortcuts with different names, like "Demigod (No Intro)" or "Demigod (No AI)".

The real imbalance is may be that, while generals have plenty of general-only items (at least insofar as that a lot of the bonuses are irrelevant to assassins), there are no real assassin-only items except favor ones.

Yeah, but they don't get xp or gold from the nightwalkers, and having someone babysit the mist effectively pulls an ENEMY demigod out from the fight too. If they DON'T babysit the mist, erebus can pop out when the coast is clear and do his thing, capping flags and whatnot.
