Adding a new menu item won't take much time. IMO the most time will be spent on the logic, which unfortunately does change a bit because now it matters who we evaluate first as Random's should have their demigods chosen before Random (No Double)'s do. This is desirable because if Random selects an unused demigod (say, TB), Random (No Doubles) will not consider TB a valid choice. However, if a Random (No Doubles) selects an unused TB a later Random might happen to spin TB pro
random is random? Making it dependent on the demigods in your team means it's not random? Also, doubles isn't a problem.
Of course Random (No Double) is still random. If I have 5 chairs and want to randomly assign them to 5 people, you're just as likely to get chair 1 as chair 5, but as it is undesirable to seat multiple people in one chair I remove chair 1 as a possibility once it has been taken. I support having se
I think he's saying it's fine that they outrange towers, but since the towers are so close they can take them out whilst being very well-protected quite deep within their own towers such that attacking the siegers with a melee demigod is suicide and you have no choice but to leave them be. Ideally, siege units should be quite vulnerable to compensate for their range and damage but here they can basically do their job from the safety of their own base. Don't get me wrong; I rea

Umm if you expect the game will span across the two monitors, I don't think that's going to happen without a possible 3rd party program spanning it for you, and even then I dunno... I have a 24" monitor and the desktop is extended to a second 17" monitor to the side. If I remember right, I can use the mouse to scroll across edges of the map, but if I try to do that on the side of the monitor that goes to the other monitor my mouse enters the other monitors screen and the map doe

I believe he's talking about if YOU die, not the teammate. i.e. if I come into the game and normally play a pretty solid game but mess up once early in this particular match then my teammate says "OMG sly is a newbie!!!" and dcs. When it happens, yeah it sucks. There's not much point in posting about it, but yeah it sucks.
This thread is still going huh.
If you want to be technical, yeah it's a nerf. But as opposed to most nerfs, where devs code something, release it to the wild, then deem something is OP based on observations and feedback and so choose to reduce it's effectiveness, this nerf is pretty clearly the result of a mistake the devs made during coding. Hence it's more like a fix.
as far as I'm concerned demigoddb is the official site.

good stuff. one request: can we fix the forums at some point so the "Demigod" forum is viewable more than 50% of the time? It feels like the site is just being hammered but there can't possibly be all that much load with this playerbase...
Maps are definitely the most exciting IMO. New demigods and items will probably be put under strict scrutiny before being made official (until then, I think they only work on SP/Lan/possibly custom game), but new maps, particularly if symmetric, will probably be assessed more leniently.
Unfortunately the reality is there are very few truly friendly gaming forums. Combine that with the fact that the game is targeting the DotA community (one of the most notorious) and the poor launch and this level of volatility is pretty much what I would've expected. Sucks to see Frogboy go, but I understand both that he has better things to do and that his presence on the forums was a privilege to begin with. All the talk about the GalCiv 2 community made me want to fire

The biggest distance possible between two players is a little more than 41000 km here on earth. Practically you will deal with much shorter distances, and lets take the america-aussieland example:http://www03.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=distance+sydney+new+york, 15000km.
