Here is youtuber, Worth a Buy? who gives it a thumbs up. The guy is certainly not to everyone's taste but once you know his limitations he can be quite fun. Normally swears a fair bit but this is a pretty clean one I think for those who care about that stuff (Edit. might have remembered that wrong ). Quite a short video and a touch short on info but definitely a positive one. (He says he approached the Devs for a copy but didn't get one. Which is a bit weird because a while back I saw

Jedtats, the game does not support crossfire so you don't want that enabled. DX11 currently only supports 1 GPU. For 2 GPUs you need to run DX12 with CF off and then select the mGPU from the game's menu. I am not sure it will work for you as you say DX12 crashed but thought I would clear up the CF confusion. Don't forget to use the 16.2 AMD drivers, they only came out a few days ago.
Funny thing is, here we are talking about these mega-pixel monitors when the most common screen resolution (at +- 31%) is... 1366x768. Immediately followed by 1920x1080 for 21.5% of users out there. Only 0.11% are blessed with 4K monitors ( 3840x2160 ).
Yeah, for the average user monitor lives tend to be at least 5 years, and often longer,
Thanks, that pretty much echoes my thoughts on the matter. I'll stick with 11 for the time being I think.
I've just remembers that Nvidia have said they haven't yet turned on Async shaders in the drivers for the game. So if they release drivers for the game around release it might be worth checking again. The HW is not really setup for it though so I am not sure how much to expect.

The old bug where once you have completed something the building blow up animation plays is still in. Though normally the buildings are still actually intact when it happens. Though factories did blow up randomly even in one's own area in a Beta1 bug, perhaps it is the same one.
However, bear in mind, that in ranked, it will not place a rank 3 player against say a rank 7 player no matter what.
Lots of great suggestions in this thread. The above sentence seems waay too narrow. Anybody in the top 20 should be allowed to play each other at least. Especially right now where in theory you can climb quite high up the ladder and barely play a human (i.e. ranking is not yet purely b
sometimes i really dont know where the damage comes from. like i see units going down but i can not exactly point out the source. this happens to me aswell as it happens to my opponents so maybe there is something like a solution to it?
Yeah, sometimes there is quite the delay between a unit getting enough damage to die and it actually fading away/dying. I catch myself starring at units before going to a different screen to make sure it really is going to go down

I'm sure 5K Ashes is gorgeous in the flesh but that picture doesn't translate well, the game looks better than that with just as much detail on my 1920x1200 (Extreme settings).

On a 970 here and get better average FPS using DX11 too. For your follow up questions, the heavy batches FPS is slightly higher with DX12 so in theory your minimum framerates in game should be better than with DX11. However it is a tiny difference so doesn't really effect my decision making. It was said that DX12 would get a few extra bells and whistles, perhaps better lighting but you'd have to play test that yourself. I don't know if it would be true in the

While DX12 can facilitate SFR, at the moment Ashes is still effectively using an AFR system according to all the tech sites. That is why it is best if the two cards are very similar. Hopefully SFR comes to DX12 games at some point which in theory should allow game performance to improve even when the GPUs are very different in performance. Ashes is also not yet pooling the VRAM of the GPUs, something else that will be very cool when implemented, though I don't know if Ashes itself will ev
Doesn't mGPU mean multiple GPUs? And isn't that the tech behind SLI?
DX11 = SLI DX12 =mGPU They use different underlying systems and are not the same thing.

Larger maps and more players. More options always a + My prediction: Huge maps will come post launch (they have a lot on their plate already!) and when or soon after they drop we'll be allowed up to 8 players. Time frame: Within 2-3 months post launch. Edit: Actually I'm gonna go for 4-8 weeks post-release for huge maps. I think they already have the tech for it and they will want to strike while the iron is still hot(i.e. shortly after release). Huge maps at launch wo
Maybe orbitals are the plan to fix this.
The problem with orbitals, and there is a nuke like one, is that when it comes to base defence they are very easy to block with the existing game mechanics. I agree a T4 line would be great. For the smaller matches what we have now is nice but yeah there is definitely room for T4 in the game.
Frame rate returns to normal whenever I move away from a battle.
That does kinda suggest you are running at settings too high for your GPU to handle when in the thick of it.

My brother also gets this on his 7970/280X, though only under DX12. It isn't just LODs though, unless that is how it is done, but the colours are all mixed and mashed up and it happens with PHC too, both in benchmark and actual game. Doesn't look good. He also gets no benefit from DX12 which was a surprise after a 7970 in Anandtech's article showed a 20% increase for it over DX11. Perhaps it is because of the above texture issue?

I presume they have scaled back the cheating as they improve the AI? It does change significantly between each patch though so watch this space I guess. I'd say Beta 1 Tough was easier still than the last Alpha version of Tough. I thought they might have slowed down a bit as they put more resources into quanta and orbitals but I've not seen them use orbitals yet.

Orbital nullifiers are too powerful really. If you compare it to say a traditional anti-nuke device in a late game vs a turtler you could overwhelm his anti-nukes and get him. In this game one relatively cheap structure blocks anything forever. Bomb it and then go in you say? Oh, he built four of them in the same area...I would re-factor them so that they have to be recharged or something and are not infinitely effective. To OP, double check you have enough Quanta as we

Temporal AA was in the game before and now it is gone. I don't know what difference it makes because it was too demanding on my system to run. You could try super sampling if you have the horse power to play that way. Through the drivers you can allow games to run at a higher resolution than the monitor. Acts as a kind of AA.

Things will be a little better for sure when engineers work together properly. It would be nice to be able to click and drag for capping a node's resources, similar to PA, but that has been raised many times so its not a new suggestion. Based on what Tatsu said it has been discussed in great length elsewhere and it comes down 50/50. It seems Chemie and the Dev are in opposite 50s. The split down the middle suggests there is no clear right or wrong and that it comes down to

I use DX11 on my 970. DX12 has slightly better heavy patch FPS but lower in the other areas. Plus Steam overlay works with DX11 so for convenience sake I stick mostly to DX11 for now. Not saying this shouldn't be fixed of course.
