UPDATE: A patch will be released within the next 2 days to update the game to be compatible with Dark Avatar v1.5X.

That is correct Gavote
i recall you saying at some point that you wanted to hear about bugs. well, i had a small one. one of the layers of clouds seemed to not load properly, and it appeared very pixelated over my planets. it was the 'thinner' upper layer of clouds that's translucent and moves faster. Actually that's not a bug . It has nothing to do with the mod either actually. It's how GC2 draws the clouds on planets. It takes one
You should ALWAYS download the latest patch.
By the way, the main problem for video issues both for Galciv2 and of course Supreme Commander is people not updating their video card drivers. Not updating video card drivers = less then stellar video performance. If you get an oil change for your car every 3-5k miles you should be updating your video card drivers as often. All my drivers are up to date bub <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 align="absmidd
Well the game was officially released on the 20'th, with a patch on the 21st. A revision to this patch was posted on the 26th. 2 business days to get a patch to (theoretically) solve all the problems that were caused with the previous patch? Thats not all that bad. ACTUALLY, you're wrong . The first patch was released on the 21st (3217). The revision to the patch
Well I did have that problem, but form me the cause is somewhat related to drivers. If I played Oblivion before a session of SC then it would crash. If I don't do that then I can play without issue. So something is up with the nvidia drivers and the way the game uses them. after you uninstall: basically you need to make sure the gaspowered games folder is deleted in the document and settings, applications. Also clear out your temp folder as there are a cou
Check out my thread here ... https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=349&aid=145648 guess i should have checked here first. Anyways, it's about some issues i'm having with SC...
So i got Supreme Commander the other day. I've been impressed with it. The quality of the graphics is amazing, and i was glad to see the ingame movies in HD. Granted, it falls a little short of the revolution in RTS i had been hoping for, but all in all it seemed like a great game to play, and very entertaining. I played it for about a day with only some minor problems. Then GPG released a patch, heh, more like and un-patch. Now i graced with only 10-15 min of gameplay before the
Because that would be irrelevant because you are going to select your own ships from the templates in the shipyard anyway. It's redundant.
OK, here's the problem with not being able to move the ship you got. It's a bug... kindof... But not really... I should get a gold star for this one Kryo. The ship that was gifted to you was out of your life support range, therefore it can only be moved toward your life support range. If you try to move it in any other direction, it gives you the message about being outside of your range. The problem is that there are asteroid bases inbetween that ship and your life suppo
Done and Done. From the e-mail: Just a guess here guys, but i also noticed that in the save, none of the ships are present in the shipyard, as if they weren't properly written to the save file for some reason. Maybe unrelated, but thought you all should be aware to look there. Weird...
So, Got the disease (not plague) mega event, and switched all of my production over to research to get the cure in 3 turns. On the third turn, someone declared war on an ally of mine, and i chose to stand up for them, which was a mistake, it caused a chain reaction of allies declaring war, to which point everyone was at war with everyone. So i decided, i'll load my previous autosave (the previous turn) and decide not to come to my ally's aide (so i went back in time, sue me). Anyways, much to
Umm... www.galciv2.com (The home page) > Navigation Bar > Library....
I've seen this as well, enemy ships appear to fire on each other, and my ships appear to fire at other friendlies as well.
Logic, isn't the logo for the Brunai Imperium an edited Vasudan logo from Freespace? Cause I know I've seen that before, though not with that particular color scheme... Spotted another one! I took the geometry from the vasudan logo (the outline, it screamed mean looking to me), gave it a new paint job, and made it 3D.
Will this mod work w/o the DA expansion? No, i'm afraid the mod is made for Dark Avatar.
lol, the inspiration are those shadow race guys from Babylon 5! once I saw the race picture, I was pretty sure it was that along with the homeworld name. in one of the episodes where you actually see the Shadow guys (they were called The Shadow most of the time), they appear as black spider/crablike creatures, and thier homeworld was found to be Zha'dum (or something along the lines), plus your ships look alot like the ships they had in the Babylon 5 series. <
weapons animations are very tricky Honestly, you'd be better off using one of the "expensive" software suites to create them. I myself use Lightwave 3D, but Max and Maya will do. I can't really say for any other in regaurds to weapons anims. Many many years ago, a lightweight version of Lightwave was used, called Inspire 3D. It's defunct now, but has been deemed freeware and open source by t
If your video card only has 64Mb of memory, then it wasn't even enough to handle the graphics in Dread Lords, much less Dark Avatar. If you want to see the full graphics (in either DL or DA), you'll need a new video card.
Awww i want a little metal spaceship! What contest? I feel left out of the loop... What memo did i miss?
These are from my personal Custom Race (The graphics for the race were all done by me, including the communications animations, portraits, and logos, as well as the homeworld texture and terrain color scheme, and of course the ship designs are all done by me as well. But can you guess my inspiration?): The Brunai Imperium <b
i've noticed it affecting my performance in two ways primarily. my game takes significantly longer to load, and towards the late game when ships are piling up my FPS seems like its gone down a bit. also i noticed once when one of the layers of clouds didn't load correctly and was pixelated. Dystopic, check my post in the mod thread about this issue. Short Answer: It's not a bug, it's just how GC2 draws the cloud textures.
Logic - Is there going to be any wierdness if I just use the graphic files (over-write the originals) so I can still use Metaverse? Answered my own question. They look fantastic in-game even while playing a non-mod game. No, that should work, except that you won't have any of the mod's raw terrain maps, or other enhancements made by modding the XML files <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gi
