Really a pleasant surprise to know that we are going to get four new ships in the Xpack. Can't wait to play the beta. Sirian has a good point. If the ships are implemented under the current system of tacking an alignment requirement on a ship tech, then it would be too easy either to trade/capture the tech or shift alignments around just to get the alignment ship techs. We would then see Wraiths and Sovereigns flying side-by-side. On a related issue, I assume the AIs would be b

My guess, Technician, is that you got demoted because of this somewhat negative post you made three months back. http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=95071#95108 I don't recall you being offensive or picking on newbies, etc.

30? You mean a 26 or 20 with colonization bonuses? The only natural occuring planets are from 1-20 and 26.

The starbase maintenance was added in a recent patch and the patch changes have not been updated into any game documentation. The patch histories are here if you are interested http://sdcentral.stardock.com/public/gc1/production/history.htm ~SDC~

Luck ability is still not fleshed out sufficiently, according to Brad. Personally doesn't think it does much currently but we had players over the months claiming that this ability does wonderous things, including giving the player a better start with more yellows! LOL ~SDC~

I'm not sure about that Maxti. Back in June when I remember employing the tactic of gifting ships to the AI to take out starbases (my only Alliance win), the gifted ships always retreat first. After a few turns, they will zero in on nearby enemies. ~SDC~

Well, following my experiment with the Terror Stars, other tests show that the AIs retreat all gifted ships back to their systems immediately after they receive the gift so that experiment does not conclusively show that AI don't know how to use Terror Stars. Having said that, no one has come out so far to say that they have seen an AI Terror Star blowing up a system. ~SDC~

The least complicated way to use the Governors is to use only the default one (Mr Ford). Go to the domestic screen (F4), click on the list of social projects in the top left box that you want all your planets to build. Clicking the project would drop it into the Governor box below it and the order in which the projects are listed would be the order in which they would be built. Example, I click Soil Enhancement, Banking Centre and Entertainment Network. In the governor

Welcome back to the Fellowship, Matthew, and welcome to the Fellowship Council! Thanks for the heads-up, Marquesa, though obviously I wouldn't be catching the ABC show, Smeagol and Stupot, etc probably will. Our local channels usually show these "making of" shows as well. Heard that those who previewed "The Return of the Ring" said it's the best of the trilogy. I personally enjoyed the final book more as well.

I've looked at your game, Stupot. The Arcs are about equal in power to you but are allied with the Tors and Alts. A pure military victory is still possible if you concentrate on mopping up the 4 remaining minors and then ramp up to take on the alliance but it would definitely be a long and painful slugfest. Alternatively, you can try for an alliance victory. Since the Tors are already at close, you basically need to butter up to the other two which are currently at Coo
