I have this game, and I believe it is by far the best RTS ever made next to Dune 2.

I just cannot get past how ugly MOO3 is, and inctredibly unintuitive. After 12 hours of trying to like it last week I took it back. Gal Civ is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better. Only thing it's missing is customizable ships.
Duglis you've got to be crazy... I ddnt konw people still had computers like that. Buy a new one! I wouldn't want them to limit the graphic capabiliities to satisfy 1% of the market. Remember this will probbaly not happen for 1-2 years and if you still have that computer then - well get a new one! I will absolutely buy Gal Civ 2. I have absolute faith in Stardock and will get it ASAP.
Parable, I wish it was that, but it isn't :( Thanks though...
Can you look into this? I have 2 games (same game actually) I tried to submit June 16 that did not get recorded even though the prompt came up that said it was recorded successfully. I just tried again to day with no success. [Message Edited]
OK :) I'll support you through antoher sequel :) "Galactic Civilizations II - The Drengin's Fight Back" :D
I have 2 I did today June 16 (which I was quite proud of).
On the political screen, why do the "Espionage Priority" funds (after you put in an amount greater than 0) always creep higher on their own?
Ewww, jumped all over my enthusiasm! ;) Hehe. Well, I'm about to try The Corporate Machine and Stellar Frontier thanks to Drengin.net. And "I" think SE4 type customizable ships would fit just nicely in Gal Civ ;)
I'm buying the Drengin.net upgrade right now just as a hopeful bargaining chip (check my account I'm serious) :) Please, please with extra money on top! ;)
:) First, I love this game (as you probably know). Second, if later on you make an extra expansion (that we'd be more than happy to pay for), will you add customizable ships? Kind of like what Space Empires IV has? Gal Civ is perfect in so many ways, better than any other game out there, and I think that's the only thing I'd really, really like to have. Thanks so much for all the excellent hours of gaming fun! And it has been fun!

Madmaz, is there any way I can run the Star Wars mod in a second directory separate from GalCiv standard? I'd like tobe able to playthem both without having to install/reinstall etc. Thanks!
Thanks Frogboy! Wow, it must of taken you a year to read this whole thread! :) There are some long-winded people here! ;)
Well, I click off a ship, but they just won't turn off many times. It's very sporadic... Sometimes it'll just suddenly go off, and I'll be liek "Whew, I can finally see better again". This has happned over several builds (well, since I've had te game), so it's not something new.
I don't think wonders/trade goods should factor in either. I just buy them all if I'm winning, which makes me even stronger, and in many cases having trade goods/wonders has very little reflection on a person's strategy. I kind of view them as this "the rich get richer, the poor get poorer"...
This sounds really good. Can I send you my save game? Mine got really out of hand. I really like the idea of players who challenge thensleves more getting higher scores (higher difficulty levels). Also, I don't know if it's because I understand the game bettr or what, but the last several builds I've had an easier time winning. Actually maybe this is the reason... I made sure no one ever attacked me by having 3 defense ships at each planet. Personally I think I was
I have not been able to figure out if this is possible or not...
Sheesh, that stinks. That was a loooong game, and I BARELY won... The Aritreans were taking over eveything culturally every single turn. My people were 100% happy and yet defecting to them at a rate I've never seen before. YIKES!
Arrgghh! I played my first Gigantic Galaxy game on Normal difficulty and won through research. I scored over 30,000, but on WHY?!?!?!?!
It gets pretty obstructive when trying to view stuff. I believe I'm talking about how the grid gets highlighted sometimes.
Can you leave an empire after you've signed onto one, or are you stuck with it forever?
Ohhh cool!
I almost hink it'd be fun to run my own 1 person Empire, but I guess I'd like to have some clue about how it all works... I'm especially curious if empires actually fight for sectors on the map? or sectors are just randomly assigned? Well, I'd like as much info as possible. Thanks! :)
