Question. Is there any interest in creating a repository of game analysis? Maybe save games every couple years and a written discription of strategy and events.
It's good with explanations. Without them, players just copy other's tactics and this is a bad thing (there are a lot of players in StarCraft/WarCraft 3 who do it, there is a special name for them, but i don't know english equivalent). More important is to teach players how to think by himself, and use replays as
I really love true multiplayer games, and I can go on for books about the theories behind it and in fact I have written alot on the subject for boards such as these.
I tried to wrote a strategy guide (not just "do this, then this", a real strategy guide), but it's hard to write your "feelings" on paper. So now it's completed by about 50%. Also, it was written with emphasis on StarCraft (it may be used for any strategy, preferably RTS). I've never was 1st on l

To Staffa Ok if you are that expirienced (i'm just started to play computer games in 91 (including TBS)), then why you are focusing so much on GalCiv? Really, your number of games in GalCiv gives you mostly only GalCiv expirience. Also, it's not much you can learn from a singleplayer game. That's just my IMHO. But i respect you, you are not playing on Crippling for a better score. Really, i'm just training my skills in game theory on GaiCiv - i want to move to a "High leagu
Ellestar, I was at the forefront of trying to get the scoring system changed to not reward excessive milking.
Perhaps you was not on first forefront :) There was a lot of others before you. About crippling. Yes, it's much easier and much faster to play. And milking negates difference in scores. ~SDC~
The ship must be built after the improvement to benefit.
No, developers stated that ships remember their home planet (there they was built), and so all ships produced on this planet now matter when get bonus from ship quality improvements.
Yep, those Apolyton guys are hard core gamers. Once they concentrate their effort on one game, they are unstoppable. That be their weakness in the end. So, time to start producing those fake copies of Civ 4 to get them all in a lather so that they temporarily get distracted from Galciv, then we jump them!
I'm not. Moreover, you can see that Staffa tries to get 1st place on metaverse - so he's clearly focusing his efforts on GalCiv. I, on the other hand, trying to improve

To RayChua
Ellestar, you are obviously one with high standards and I respect that. There is no need for you to be cynical in this universe, leave that to real life.
You are wrong, my stadarts are very low ;). There you saw a Munchkin with high standarts? "Munchkin do whatever gives most pluses". //REAL MEN, REAL ROLEPLAYERS, LOONIES AND MUNCHKINS By Jeff Okamoto, Sandy Petersen, and lots of others// The main reason why i posted this because i thouht that you

To Staffa
Ellester, wtf, your sitting their posting about being the top empire and then complain about others considering metaverse points as something of interest?
1) Ellestar 2) For me there is a difference between 1st place and milking scores to be at the 1st place. But since you are milking scores even at tiny map, perhaps i'll reconsider my goals. ~SDC~
PS for Ellestar: RayChua immediately got a Sergey Pakhomov. This is wrong. It was my desire to join RayChua empire, because for a long time reading the forum I found that RayChua posts were very interesting and useful.
It's ok. I just don't like then someone (RayChua in this case) trying to talk about high principles to lure people into his empire, and then not following them. :HOT: P.S. If you think that it's a useful info (for GalCiv'ers or to improving game)
Don't worry, Ellestar, I'm sure 'poly will continue to dominate by sheer numbers
Well all is good. But... Then i posted my info about economy on Apolyton, noone even said a word. Say, Za H found some errors (well i got this info from Encyclopedia, maybe i trust too much to official sources of information), he keep it to himself, and told about that only afer a while. Well i know why noone responded - THEY WAS TOO BUSY GETTING 1ST ON METAVERSE. And now i see that

To RayChua I'm Sadist. And you like masochistic pleasure. So we can work together to achieve better results. OkOk? LOL Really, i has only one responce - only Staffa told that he'll play on any settings. Well if he's so self-confident... Next time discuss starting conditions, because i followed your (participants) responces. ~SDC~
