I think I speak for most, if not all of us if I say: Dear Dick Wiggler. You obviously hate the game. Do us a favour and go away now. We don't want to hear your pathetic whining over your own ineptitude, and quite frankly, I hardly doubt you are actually looking for help. Instead, it seems like the only reason you post here is to cause us and the developers grief. Continuing to post here could have no possible positive outcome. Your hateful attitude would be much better directed

Lokiju, the thing is, you didnt buy a product on ebay. You bought the CD, that is right, and you bought the CD key, that's right too, but you did not buy the license, since that would require a license transfer that would include StarDock involvement, which you would have had to pay for. You didn't, and so StarDock doesn't owe you support. Just like they don't owe you a new CD if the one you recieved would have been broken. Technically, the only legal way way would be for the seller (th

None of those games are "banned". They are "on the index", which means that they, much like porn in the US, may not be sold or advertised to children below 18. If you are above 18, you can still get it fine. And no, I don't think that it is appropriate for children to play games where they get teached to use suicide bombers or anthrax rockets. This has nothing to do with free speech.

I couldn't see any official one, so I created one in case people would want to talk a bit more "live" then on the board. The IRC server is: irc.sorcery.net The channel is: #galciv (that one was a nobrainer *g*) In case you don't have an IRC client, you can download a very popular one at http://www.mirc.com In case there already is a channel, please tell me so I won't look like a dumbass ;)

Few basic things. Lower difficulty. At "fool" level, you should have little problems no matter what. Expand. Lots and early. Take only 15+ planets (until you know what you are doing). Cut back on on research and especially social buildings (don't spend anything on social until the colonization rush is over). Trade. Actually, Trade should be pretty much the only thing you should research at the start as a newbie. Trade can easily double your income. Also, you can sell t

Of course I understand how the work, however I do not know what the small ships are for (other then shooting in war times). I thought it was just for that, and nothing else, but a post from Brad seemed to incline that the little ships have more influence ?

I would assume thats from the bug where you can't stop building constructors, and spit one out every turn. Most likely the maintenance drove them so deep in the red numbers that they had to halt their production of everything (it would still spit out constructors nonstop though). Happens to players as well. Forgot what patch the bug was in, but it should be fixed by now.

You know toad, the reason why you "played out the game" already, is because you seem to rely on one simple "cheesy" strat to play all your games with. You yell for complexity and cry at the very moment you are presented with more then one viable path to go with. You can't both have your cake and eat it. It's just not working that way. Just like in a shooter game, you can't have ten perfectly balanced weapons and your favourite weapon being the strongest one at the same time.

If I may suggest a way ? Add to the "doubleclick" menu (where you can select autoattack, auto survey, etc) a dropdown box where you can select your current waypoints, then make a way to set a waypoint in the main view (shouldnt be that much of a problem, there's plenty of space :p).

Brad, I think the main concern here is not "the forum system sucks", but "the forum is too crowded". And I kinda agree - when I came here the first time roughly two weeks ago, it was easy to read, but now, theres just too much chattering and noise to follow important threads. So, what people are suggesting (and I fully agree with that), is making some new subsections (like strategy and mods) - and how much work would that be ? I mean seriously, I don't know how much work it would be :)<

...I just played a (giant) game where I went heavy researcher for a while, then sold all my techs to the AIs for their starbases. Seven military bonus bases, I wish I could have upgraded those before I won through cultural :/
