@Midnightsun: The AI does indeed recognize the danger of culture Starbases, they even talked to me because of that. But immediatly after declaring war I could sign a peace treaty. But in general I agree with you. When I play the game I am the Emperor of mankind. I am always trying to make the best possible decisions for my empire! I had to rush the Alexians and later elimnate Carinoids and Drengin because that was the only choice I had if I did not want the Altarians to do it.<

The CTD Bugs I have don't really annoy me since I know how to prevent them. I am more annoyed about exploitable gameplay bugs. Without these the game would be really great but with them it's nothing special... There are so many potenially great games that suffer under some flaws. The good thing about Galciv is that they are still updating it and possibly will fix these flaws. If they'd just listen to me and fix what I say! LOL
When I save a game, it remembers rallypoints on load. Is there anything that I should try to reproduce this?
It maybe had to do with the bug that was the reason for me to save/reload: The Ship that could not move from the Rally-Point to the Sector that it should be able to reach. I don't know how to reproduce it. I'll see if it happens again and tell you under what circumstances. However, this is only a minor bug. The Draginol giving me all their 145000 for 50...

As what I have seen Alpha strikes no longer work in the Expansion since the AIs keep their ships within their planets orbits when they are not at war.

@Qui-Gon: I am not talking about the Beta for the Expansion, I am talking about the old beta for the game! @Surther: I spoke of the news where there was the pic withe the differently looking GUI. Don't know from when it was... Think something in July or early August.

I could think of a much easier solution without any more of micromanagement. Money that is devoted to Social projects on a planet that has nothing social to be built could simply put it into military. If there is no military to be built then into science and if you already have all tech then simply back into the treasury. We would have no waste, no AI recoding and no more micromanagement!

3 More Bugs (all of them are gameplay exploits!): 1) Culture of more than one Star-Base in one Sector multiplicates instead of just adding! (Three Starbases with +150% give +1462% instead of +450% as they should!) That way you can easiely take over almost every system in no time! 2) Okay, I am not sure this is a bug but however it's an illogical thing: The Yor did not want me to abuse Bug #1 and so asked me to give them my starbase or they would declare war. I decline

I have only played like an hour yesterday but I already noticed that these rushes won't work anymore like they did in 1.05... This is for "Intelligent" Level, the highest level where the AI gets no Boni. @Ray: Wow, impressive! Is there a guide or sth. like that that explains how to win Huge Maso games with that regularity? 1) I can't answer this question. 2) These shots were shots of the Galciv Beta and not of Expansion. I have no clue why the beta looked better than the final product. 3) You know where the button is that shows you how much influence someone has in a given sector? Look a bit left of it and you'll find the answer for your question. I also needed some time to find it out! Just incase you still don't find it: It is on the upper right of the screen.

@Laertes: Are you the Laertes from PBEM 44? I can only give you the advice of trying to get the english copy and install it with your Serial. You could even download it from another guys PC and burn it on CD. Besides the Serial there is absolutely no copy protection. Who is the publisher of the german version? They should be responsible for translating the patches into german and make them available!

I think the hint you need is: do not colonize planets with less then 15 pq! At least for me it sounds like thats were your problems come from... Note that these colonies do not produce money, they use it up to maintain! And note that these colonies will hardly ever become content since it's no fun living in a hostile envrionment. If you have some of them, feel free to abandon them and for the future leave em alone...

The people in the colonyships are unarmed and therefore can't invade a planet. You need Transports, that carry people and weapons. These become available with the Impulse Drive Technologie.
The Alterians are a buncha freaks if you ask me!
I think the Altarians are quite a good simulation of the Americans! There are so many parallels! Well... maybe I am just a bit biased now because in my last game I was conquered by the Altarians. :p

I really like the symbol from the game! But how you came to the conclusion that we have 15 members? When I click on our Empire it only lists 5 and one of them hasn't yet submitted a single game. [Message Edited]

The Beta Patch is increadibly hard and still somewhat buggy. My Lvl 67 HC-Druid was in Act 4 Hell at the River of Flames and when I went there now, I had to quit the game after beating 9 Monsters (I could count them because I had to isolate em in order to have a chance) because it became too hard! I went back to Nightmare to search some of the much improved Rare-Items (they can now have up to 450% Enhanced Damage :SURPRISED: ) Anyways, I started playing the GotM and yes, it's g
