Ever tried to find an Ally when you are playing evil? As a good guy you will easily get other good guys to like you but as a bad guy the good guys will hate you while other bads are likely to have a neutral relationship towards you. I play with random enemy alignments and in my last game there was noone good so I became evil aswell. If there are strong empires with good alignment I'd always prefer beeing good.

CariElf stated in another Thread that the fleet defense Bug is fixed and so the next update will remove it. I also really see absolutely no sense in adding an AI-lever higher than Increadible when someone like Staffa states that he wins only 10% of his maso games... I think beefing up Intelligent and Genius and maybe adding something a bit higher than Genius is the way to go.

My last game was one of these All AI's Random, 2 Sub-Normal, 2 Normal and well... one Increadible... What the hell can one do to compete with an increadible AI??? After ten turns they already held 2/3 of the spend power of the whole galaxy... When one of my colonyships scouted one of their core-systems in the early 2180, it found a SB with enough modules Short aftrer that they requested 3600 BC from me. I denied and so they immediately went to war. They also had war wi

@Silent Fires: May be... but on the other hand I think if I cancelled my 10 Traderoutes from the Torians to establish some with the weaker Arceans, the Torians could have become angry and could have declared war and asked their Ally to help em before I could have allied with them... @Def Zep: I had all (10) traderoutes to the Torians but it never got better than "warm"! The Torians were Pure Evil btw... Maybe Evil Races are just not so likely to ally with each other... I wonder how the

I usually set all AI's on random (because it is more fun for me) and did not yet get a Crippling or Maso Game... (it averages out lower) Whenever there was at least one Increadible AI within the game I lost to them just like the other lowerlevel AIs... Note that a game with 1 Increadible AI and 4 Fools will have the difficulty "beginner" but it is a whole lot harder than a "crippling" game with everyone set to genius. (funny to see how fequently these "The X have finally succu

How can one program something like this? The button has an onclickevent and leaving it free shall do nothing... If you connect it with an empty procedure it shall do the same: nothing... Anything else shall not compile. So they maybe already started writing the procedures for these buttons and just forgot to comment it out? However, nothing curious because it's not hard to not klick on these... :)

I just had my first Tech-Victory... (damn Pure Evil Torians did not want to become close even tough I had 10 Traderoutes to them and became evil aswell!) While the beginning of the game was really exciting, the end was increadibly boring: The Torians Allied with the Arceans and then there was never again any act of war (besides the Torians invading a new minor 1 turn before I would). The Torians were too powerful for me to risk a war and something prevented them from liking and allying

I also critized that in the bugs forum... one shall not be able seeing the influence of someone, one has no contact with. I did not mainly mean the influence checking for the sector but selecting influence on the minimap and seeing their influence in adjactant sectors. Not a big deal but still patchworthy I think...

Note that it is hard to tell what version someone without any submitted games is playing... Maybe it is really fixed but he's got an older version... Edit: Oh, nice, got some medals after my last submission... btw. Ain't the Score > 1000 Medal not somewhat obsolete now where in 1.05 reaching scores beyond 1000 is quite easy? [Message Edited]

Espionage CTD: When my espionage-level reaches Medium then there appears a button "Show Traderoutes" or sth. like this on the Foreign/Status-Screen. Klicking it did not result in seeing their Traderoutes but in beeing kicked to to my desktop. The bug is just as recreateable as the old Add to Governor list bug... But since espionage is not used as often as the governors I did not notice it before.
3. If you destroy a colony after an event changes the pla

I mostly reasearch, what I can need best at the moment. In wartimes these are waepons, when I have excess money then facilities, when I lack morale morale improvements, when I lack money economy enhancements etc... Not to trade with the AI is not a good idea... ever seen the endscreen? Most AI's have only around 1/2 of their techs researched themselves, rest is traded... If you dont trade, you cannot expect to keep their pace. To get friends you shall send as many freighters as possible to the g

The start is the most important thing... so do this at the start: spend rating to 100%, military to 80-100% (leftover for science), pump out colony-ships! Do not colonize planets with a PQ less that 14 or 15... Not quite detailed, but that's the most important and most difference making points... For the cutscene issues, I have no clue...

Good Question... If I trade tech's from an AI, I usually do it this way: I pick all the techs I want from them. I add so many techs from me until it becomes green or all if it does not. If it was green, I go back to their side and select money. I raise the duration slider to max and step by step increase the payment slider until it becomes yellow. Now I decrease the duration slider until it becomes green again. If it was green, I select my money and set the duration

I think one of the changes in 1.04 was something like "changed the lower difficulty AI's to do more stupid actions instead of just acting slower" or so... So, yes, they did lower the AI but only for the lower levels to make the game easier on em... But another thing is the increase in your skills or simply a change in your colonization-strategy... If you don't know what to do to be able to colonize superfast, it appears to be much harder because you end up with much less planets... On

@CM: Have I ever said anything about a bug here? I am not talking about a bug, I am just requesting the option to play the game without any minors or at least make minors modable.
But, no, they should all lose this opportunity because they ruin *your* fun.
I never said that everybody should lose this oportunity! I just want it to be possible to loose this oportunity myself! Besides the selectors for habitable-star-rareness and galaxy size, I think there'

Nah... you don't understand the way I'm thinking... It is like that: I cannot resist exploiting them, as long as they are there, even if it takes the fun out of the game when I do so... The same goes for the tribute -1 turn bug, that I mentioned in some other threads... as long as it is there, I will exploit it. I can't stop me from doing it! The easiest way for you to help me would be to read the number of starting minors or the minor-diplomacy-penalty from a file that you pu

As I have stated in the Galctic Forums I don't like the so easy exploitable Minors and asked for an option to start a game without them... Now I had the idea, that this maybe can be done by modding... can it? If yes, how?

The thing that really annoys me about Galciv at the moment is more or less a minor issue... I have illustrated and uploaded it on the Apolyton Webspace (you probably must register to see it, would be kind if someone who has own webspace (not that tripod or geocities junk) could upload it to another URL) http://apolyton.net/upload/files/AIL/Minortrading.gif Edit: You cannot click on that link. You must rightclick it, chose properties and then copypaste the URL to a new

After the codepatch Moo3 became finally playable... But while there are things I like about it, there are other things that make galciv better... I think mainly the speed, in what you can play galciv helps a lot! Even with all the automation in Moo3 it is much slower if you want to be able to compete with the AI's. Trading is really annoying and time consuming in Moo3! You must design new ships as soon as you have new technoligies in order to be competative in Space Combat because the AI-Em
