Great thread....but wouldn't it be nice if we could disagree without offending each other. As must others has posted i think that the majority of strategy players are more interested in gameplay than graphics, so if you have to balance your development budget - graphics will probably be a 2nd priority. So i would have to agree with Sirian (to the point that it is less likely that focus in a strategy game will be on graphics) [quote]GalCiv has a faithful and growing fol

I have had trouble submitting games after i upgraded to Drengin.net. I have change my registration (in regards to product and serial), but know my games doesn't submit. Shows up as Error status=0 and alot faster than usually, which makes my think that it has got something to do with my account. Any ideas ?

Hi Ralegh, If you are showing a surplus and want to be able to spend it, higher population (higher morale) is something you need. They will spend and provide you with more taxes. Though i never build VR center either. Furthermore higher pop. will help your influence. I believe these choices to depend on the type of game you play.

Hi Celtic, On the Domestive Policy screen you will see the Spend rate slider - whit this slider you can decide which how much of your Tax income you will spend - this will affect your surplus/decifit. Your tax rate will affect your Approval rating (and of course your tax income) try playing around with the sliders to see how they work. You will experience that a large portion of your income should come from trade (AI's sending freigthers to you and thereby establishin

Hmmm...it is great to all those ideas, i live for dreaming about how business can be done (don't have the balls to actually start something of my own). I was thinking - given the succes Stardock has had with this community and probably also the Drengin.net idea - could that idea be sold to other small software developers using Stardocks experiences ? Just an idea

Just thinking out loud: Mostly all games needs a community, alot of game developers doesn't have the ressources to support these (Stardock is an exception). Income would come from 1) Margins on selling the games from website 2) Possible consultancy/advertising fees This kind of thing could be started without alot cash, but one would need good contacts in the industry (especially with the smaller companies)

Well i finish my 1.11 game. Will submit tomorrow and started 1.12. :CONGRAT: I got of to a great start - just in the center. Grabbed 4 systems with a total of 7 planets (and 4 influence ressources). I have gotten the AI's of to war while i try to catch up on research. So far the only change i think i have experienced is that the battle between the AI's seems to be more equal know. Whether that is pure luck or because they have gotten smarter is hard to say so soon. Be
