As I under stand it the payment is kept the same but the length of the lease is lessened, probably by whatever % the even tells you but I've never checked.

"To loose by culteral defeat and not by military defeat took mush of the fun out for me. Maybe because I don't (yet) know what I'm doing. But I prefer to fight to the last planet!!!" You could always turn off culture victory.
Yup, the latest beta update tries to download the whole game. The SD team are working on it.
Do you mean they break the alliance or that you can't get them to ally with you? To get an alliance you must have close relationships with the other race and you must both have the alliance tech. Bear in mind that even if you give them a ton of stuff they will still turn on you if you are very weak compared to them. Trading with them and giving them gifts will improve your relations with them. It's harder to raise relations with races of a different allignment.
I just finished a game where I owned a class 52 planet, it's a shame the game ended before I could max out it's pop.
Even better! :)
"The ford governer is the default governer for every planet." He is? Wow, that changes everything. "The military swap is another great feature too" Yup, but having the lists in a decent order and an "Everything" option would make it even better. EB: What isn't clear?
Wampyre: That's the UP, not the senate:) I know that isn't random, there's things like "Vote B if evil", "vote C if losing etc" for each event. Plutarck: Yes, your own votes just seem to be based on morale. I'm hoping the parties do represent certain interests, although I wonder what would make anyone vote for the universists.
Am I the only one who'd like a global social swap as well as the global military swap? I find a lot of the time my planets have built all the good buildings and then I have to go to each and every one to tell them to build the new thing I just researched. I suppose if you have governers set up on all your planets it's easy to add your new building onto the end of the list but I don't like them, if a high % of players use them then a GSS is not needed. Also, could the global militar
I was just wondering how 'deep' the senate voting system is. By that I mean are the votes to different parties just random or do your people vote according to how you empire is doing? Eg. They like how things are going so they vote for you, they hate an empire so they vote for the war party, you are poor so they vote for the feds etc.
Remember to add other module to the SB first if you want them, I don't think you can add them once it's a terror star. Deffence and fleet support modules are usefull.
" You know, I never build transports to bring down morale. I keep meaning to, but.... seems like an evil option to me!" I've never needed to. I suppose my economics picks give me enough money to pay for morale enhancing buildings in most games but even when I don't take those picks I still avoid spacing my people. I would if I had to, I'm a very evil player but it's never been needed.
"Otherwise, I am only a bit into the game and really have no strategy. I'm mucking about and having a good time trying to break my natural (boring) tendency to be good." Lol, I've never even seen the good UI, nevermind been good for the whole game. Somehow I managed to stay neutral in my first game but in the 20+ games since then I've always been evil, often getting the evil UI before first contact. I don't see how you goody-goodies can turn down those wonderful evil bonuses.
I asked this a while ago after geting that resource. It makes your leases shorter.
I found a class 36 planet in a purple star sysems a few games ago :)
The change list for 1.03 is still on the main page. Just click on the "view full story" button under where it says 1.03 is up for downloading.
"Does purchasing a social project now update the planet's 'built projects' list correctly?" I don't have 1.04 myself but I saw that was on the list of fixes.
"It does seem logical that if you destroy a race or they surrender to you, the ownership of all their trade goods should pass to you; this could be like giving you a license to use them, or you could/should be given control of them so you can trade licenses for them as well." When you take over the planet that built the trade good you get it. So if they surrender to you you get their planets and so get any trade goods (and wonders!) they have built.
If you switch on the custom playlist it doesn't play the background music anymore.
"P.P.S. Sid Meier don't used such a cheap tactics to increase game difficulty. " Huge ai cheats aren't cheap tactics?
"I'm not sure this should be changed. Culture isn't a governmental thing after all, its about the citizens of a planet deciding to change empires." I think citizens would be less likely to defect to an allied race. It's not "Let's flee out evil overlords and become part of the Terran Empirem they'll keep us safe" anymore, it's more "Lets revolt and join the Terran Empire, they get on great with our leaders and won't be happy with us for harming their allies empire. In fact, they'll prob
"and that changing governemnts helps the income as well," Actually, it reduces income but raises production. I finally noticed that today after a month of playing :sniff!:
"suggestion added to my list." Woo! I got an idea on the list :)
Well that's odd. My transports are launching with full loads on autolaunch, even if that means taking 1/2 or 1/3 of the pop, not 1/4 as you say.
How about adding someting like Moo2's trade goods? You could have 3 different types. One to turn it to cash, one to turn it to research on that planet and one to help build ships on that planet.
