Granted, none of us can actually judge it at all untill we try it, but try telling us that. <
Seriously. I am so. Frickin. Tired. Of you damn anti-DRM whiners. You want the company to provide everything for you, for free, without having to do any work at all, and you completely flip out when that doesn't happen. You're narcissistic zealots.
I use to not care about what DRM was on what; I buy a game and it worked, that was the way it was. Then, since 2004, I'v
I will not post in this topic. ... ... ... SON OF A #&?@!
Thanks for the asnwers Annatar!
Four questions: 1; Will existing games currently available from Impulse (i.e. Demigod and Sins of a Solar Empire - not limited to these) require this? 2; Will this be limited to games downloaded from Impulse (not retail out-of-box)? 3; Will there be future developments that make games more dependant on Impulse (i.e. becoming the next Steam)? 4; Will this be applied only to rights holders who want some form of "protection"? I'm quite weary
I'm seeing a lot of threads about how Impulse is bad, is DRM, and most of it is, unfounded, untrue or based on speculation (notice I said most, there are some with legitimate technical issues). I happen to like Impulse, and with so very few threads supporting Impulse, I have created this one! This is ALL based on MY personal experience. I am a very cynical gamer with a general and well earned dislike of most of many game developers/publishers; but I'm getting ahead of myself.
I'm just gonna throw my two Canadian pennies in: I think Generals should start of with lvl. 1 Idols as an integrated part (to stop selling for early better goodies). All idol minions should scale up with the general's level, and can have 6 - 12 spawn each, spawning at 1 - 2 at a time for much less mana (the time between casting will force more preservation). Each idol level should do a 25hp damage per strike increase, starting at 25 at level 1 (remember the armor mitigation before cry
*bump* I am having this problem a lot. I just started playing TA for the first time today (even though I've had it since beta) and everytime I reach around my 40th turn, the turn button starts dissapearing when I press it. It's consistant, even applies on a 1 vs 1 on a small map. I have to exit and restart the game everytime in order to get it back. It's happeneing roughly every second turn on my end, making it a game breaking bug. I have also had this problem before, back bef
I had my Regulus killing 2-3 5k+ health/lvl 16+ demigods in rougly 5 seconds total earlier (ok, normal AI, but still). Sounds like the Unclean Beast player had fully upgraded and decked out his character with the best items.
If you don't team up with the AI, it will team up on you, unless you lock teams of course. How and why it does it's alliances however needs a desperate overhaul.
Thanks :)
Before I start, I am using a small mod with the Gameplay.constants that only increases build/income rates and fleet sizes. I have used much more complex mods with that file in the recent past with no problems, even during beta. The problem: I seemed to have run into a wall while playing entrenchment. Whenever my games reach what appears to be a certain point, it crashes. I can't figure out why, but it happens at the exact same moment everytime (and I can't figure out why). So far it's

I had the same problems here, but I just solved it. If any of you are using PeerGuardian, it is now blocking Stardock's IP when it's accessing Demigod for multiplayer. Right click on the blocked Stardock and Cognet Communications (it pops up every time Demigod accesses multiplayer) and select allow. Worked for me :) OK, not everyone has PeerGuardian, but if what I saw was any indication, something is blocking Stardock's IP when multiplayer is accessed, and that is causing the problem.
Unfortuently, that only works when people like me actually get a game together beyond random chance; it's never happened in my experience. As for MSN, mine is nearly empty, and none of the very select few on it have, or even want Demigod; they like WoW and Sims2 (at least on Sims2 you stick the guys you don't like in a room without a toilet for a month). Thanks for the offer for disabling the multiplyaer, but that would have the rather wanted side effect of disabling al
I love that second optional feature Luminance! GPG, I, as a paying customer, demand this feature! Or I will still have bought the game and not play online [e digicons]}:)[/e]
I personally like how the singleplayer aspect of SoaSE has gone and where Demigod's is going. Very much like multiplayer matches, but with AI instead of humans. Of course I purchased these under the idea that that was how singleplayer was going to be. A campaign was not expected. Now if you want to see a piss poor excuse for singleplayer with a massive multiplayer focus, see Dawn of War and Company of Heroes. Campaign was very easy, and the expansion packs just made the
I figured that to be the likely case, but still worth a shot :)
Seems to be the closest forum for this idea. What: I would like to have an option built in that allows me to automatically ignore EVERYONE, or just enemies and/or allies (communicate via map pings). Maybe add an icon beside the player name to indicate that they are ignoring everyone. It would be even better if I could have this automatically enabled when I sign in if I choose to. Why: I don't like to chat with my fellow players unless they are in
**nevermind, misread posts.
This is my 3rd (or is it 4th?) pre-order beta game from Stardock and they used this same pre-order beta system, and they have done very well right out of the box apon release. There was few issues apon those releases (especially compared to most other games) and have a rock solid community that has been very effective and keeping them on the golden path. Those games I talk about are Sins of a Solar Empire and Galciv2:Twilight of Arnor (I can't remember if Dark Avatar had a beta; but I
Let me get this straight.... you have a technical problem logging in...... so you go onto a thread from someone who has made a mod to make it easier for the rest of us play, and your booing him for not fixing your completely unrelated technical problem? ... ... ... My head hurts. @ Chirma
Actually, you answered eveything! Thanks! I'm just gonna have one last little jont through the forums before I click buy. Thanks again :)
I'm considering pre-ording Demigod, but I would like some definitive answers before I spend that sizable amount of cash right now (as suppose to waiting for release). Oh, and yes, I did search for these for the better part if 45 minutes, but no what I consider solid answers (and I think the search function is broken). 1: Does the current beta have the ability to play with/against AI's only as well as against others (i.e. does not require a human opponent to start a match). a)
