Obvious Research Fix? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I'm probably missing something obvious but, given the amazing amount of ongoing patching which happens with this game, I don't understand why, similar to civilisation, there seems to be no option to set a reaearch "goal" and have the game automatically set your research path till you reach the goal? Even the Javascout site does not appear to offer this ability?

New Modules Newbie Question in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I like the part of new Technology Browser which tells me in detail further technologies I can now research but I'm a bit disappointed I can't click on the other "parts" of what I've discovered to see exactly what they do/mean, am I missing something here? I keep being told I've researched "New Modules", where do I go to find out what they do and how to build them.. Any help appreciated.

Ok so I finally won my first game on the easiest setting was basking in the glory and pressed the "submit score to Metaverse" then proceeded to enter the wrong player name!!! Ok so I've just traded a bunch of technology with the Caranids for their Trade Good "Diplomatic Translators" when I did this it duely disappeared from the Caranid's side of the trading but did not turn up on my side. What do I do to confirm I now have this? Any help appreciated.

Javascouts Database to Desktop Question in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Please can someone tell me how to go about putting this wonderful database onto my desktop. I've got IExplorer and WiN XP. I've tried adding it to favourites and synchronising two links down but when I come offline and click on the desktop link all I get is an error message. I'd really like to play the game offline and have access to the database........... Could some kind soul explain to a computer novice exactly what I need to do? Since starting to play I've altered the starting settings (aggressive/Peaceful, etc..) for the five major races. Can anyone remind me what the default settings are and whether or not it makes any difference to the storyline if you change them?

Does anyone know if there is a way to zoom in or out on the main screen. Ive seen the option on the mini map but not on the main screen.... Is it just me or do the units look really chunky? I'd really like to zoom out a bit to see more of the map and slightly smaller units Any Help Appreciated

Can anyone tell me how to play the game in full screen at a higher resolution than 1024*768. The helpfile supplied with the game seems to indicate it is possible to play at a higher resolution but does not tell you how? I've downloaded the windows version but when you load that you do not get full screen.... Any help greatly appreciated.
