Raging: I think that leaving strikecraft free for caps would be OK. For Hangers though you think adding cost woudl be abd, but I think it might actually be good. Because if you added cost, you could decrease the cost of the hanger, which would lead to people putting these up, and just not buying the craft till they are needed. Of course provided that once you buy a squad and it is produced it is launched at 100% health as is with any other frigate that cost money. And you ca

There si no point in sensoring violence in the US, we have no voilence problems here! Just like there is no point in censoring sexual content in Canada, it is not the rape capital of the world after all.
Only if the egg doesn't have nanos. If it does have nanos (and the AM to use it), egg wins. Period.
Yeah at lvl 1 it is very close. Both ships will actually kill each other (Marza gets one last Radiation bomb before it dies, and that will kill an Egg). At lvl 2 and 3 the Egg prevails all things being 100%. Lvl 3 is nastly cause of the Nanos. But if the Egg doesnt have the AM it won't be that easy.&
Considering already existing build penalties, antimatter costs, and the efficiency of Flak, building sufficient Fighters to take out LRFs would be next to impossible until very late in the game.
Well u missed the part where building SC would no longer require AM, and Flak efficeincy agianst fighters would be reduced... Also I would probably be in favor of removing most of SC building penalties. And the Carrier would be far

Yes I know it seems a bit too micro intensive as I laid it out. Like I said it's just stuff I been cooking up in my head. However only one that would really be a plroblem would be replacing stuff from damaged squadrons. The repair abiltiy would work OK on AUTOcast, so would rearming, if we make the squadrons naturally path back towards a carrier. As is the squadron pathing is bad anyway, a lot of people use hold position, so it definately needs redoing regardless.. Also adjacent carrier

In case of Marza, you probably want egg to chase the marza away, which an egg will happily do. Egg has nothing to fear from the scouts, and u get a fighter squad whereas the Marza has none. If he is rushing you he probably took Raza planet, Marza might beat egg if it has radiation bomb thou, so watch it.

EadTaes: I been thinking more and more that maybe Carriers should not swap from fighter to bomber so easily. And I think any future change should reflect this line of thinking. Im thinking since Carriers take up so much fleet supply: they should maybe cost less by a lot. And isntead add cost to strike craft. Strike craft would no longer need AM to be produced (repaired) but you would get an ability you can research to repair strike craft in a squad with AM cast. This

Raging: Not arguing with you, but here is how I look at things (The game makes a lot of sense when I think of it this way): Damage dealer can do good damage agaisnt more than one thing. They need good damage vs structures and cap ships to be effective backbone of your fleet. Something that only really works against one type of craft is more of a counter than a damage dealer. Yes scouts can damage other light units, but those are never present en masse. With this definition you do

Raging: there are 3 frigates that are damage dealers in the game: LRFs, HC, and Carriers. Flak was not meant as a damage dealer so it had its damage vs frigates nerfed. It can still be used sorta against LRFs, but to counter illums u usually need more flak than enemy has Illums, so its not real counter. LF will never be a damage dealer, we know why. But they do hold a decent role in coutnering other stuff. Personally I rather these were buffed vs carriers, then have carriers

I agree that if your findings are correct, this needs immidiate change! I have been finiding Illums ridiculous lately. Mostly due to the carrier nerfs. I feel that Enforcers should beat Illums with equal fleet supply. Also I should note before Subverter neutering, a clump of Illums would catch a regular beat down form vasari player using the magic bullet subverters!

I love quickstart because it does nto force rush. it gives you more oppertunity to get 2 civic and not get totally rammed by a rush. If anythign ti promotes more strategies. Before quickstart you hardly would consider taking ice or volcanic even if your opponent was 6 jumps away. Now if he is 6 jumps away and goes military you can go econ and still pull it off.

JJ issue with test is that you are conducting large clusterfuck tests. As I stated before in a large clusterfuck test a small advantage will turn huge because of snowballing (no not the dirty kind). The advantage of any side will just be exagerated the more ships you use for your test. Other thing to note: Ships that have more Hull/Shields may not be better for big fleet fights, but excell at smaller fights. Why? Because in a big fleet fight using focus fire you lose DPS everytime you

AHH YEAH it is rapidshare so it can only be downlaoded 10 times. If u guys can host elsewhere in the future. I'm gonna move it to mediafire tomorrow. Too sleepy to do it now

Wow obviously we won't get anything done here. This topic is about HC and all I see is "Illums" and "Guardians." FFS guys go see a doctor about your ADD cause you can't stay on topic for 80 posts. Ascension you are just posting endless hyperboles. It is not helping anything. Half of your arguments make no snese: "but since all advent need is 10 carriers to field 30 squadrons" Yeah what the hell is the point of that? Other races need 15 carriers, but those carriers cost les

Ahhh I had another brainstorm. I think trying to balance the factions on ship by ship basis is not a good idea. We can run the same "tests" on scouts and light frigates and fighter and we'll probably find out same disparities. Now let me ask you, has any of these disparities made it impossible to win with a certain faction before? Of course not. It's funny how for 2 years we been

Yeah reintegration AI is pretty flaky. I think it should kick in at 99% hull if your shield mitigation are maxed out. If your Shield mitigation is not at max, it should not kick in till 50% hull. That way it will react to being focus fired better. Also if slight buff is needed I propose maybe allow wepaons or engines to function while reintegrating.

I was not suprised by this. Long I have known the true power of Illums in 1.02. Just that people could always use carriers, and only those who would try to fight LRF vs LRF would get burned. You should know after few games online that you just cannot go LRF vs LRF when Advent is involved. Weather or not this is right, that's a matter of semantics and dev intentions.
