As to how the AI does it with multiple farms, I am not sure but I have taken planets and looked at planets via espionage and found that the AI uses the option to spend planetary income for approval big time. I thought propoganda wasn't in GC2. Where is the option to do this?

One thing though, I do not trade techs with major race, just using the money to buy whatever new techs they have. I would. If you don't sell it to them the minors will, usually sooner than later. Techwhoring works great on Intelligent. I play on gigantic galaxies with all 10 races so even if you don't get much from each individual tr

However, I also do not know if that mini-freighter itself needs to be in the influence. I suspect though that not In GalCiv I they did so I'm assuming it's the same until someone says otherwise. This would be another area where better documentation would go a long way.

Sorry, I wasn't clear: "Planetary improvements" is a name of a tech that give you some empire wide bonus Oh, right. No, this is on the first turn of the game, and I don't start with that tech. Really, why don't you try it yourself if you d

For your free bonus in military and social, have you cheked if it isn't linked with tech, like planetary imporvements? Those bonuses are listed under the Stats and Graphs tab on the Civilization Manager screen, so I don't see how they could be anything other than civ-wide bonuses. Just make a custom race like I did. You'll see it there. <b

Maybe that was because I was using him as a tech fund - unlike the majors I wasn't concerned about him using weapons tech to attack me, so I sold him things I wouldn't sel to the others. It's a safe bet he turned around and sold all those techs to the majors anyway. That's probably the real reason he got so big.

Unfortunately, the issues you're seeing are caused by some of the civ production bonuses not working. Civ Social Production bonuses do not work AT ALL. They do absolutely nothing. Civ Reasearch bonuses give about 1/2-2/3 of the amount they are supposed to. Military Production seems to be working correctly as far as I can tell. Population growth bonuses are also worthless at the moment since pop growth is capped at 200 mil/turn. Stardock is aware of all these bugs, so hopefu

Never give or sell techs when it's not your turn. If someone says "Can we trade for this?", you can bet your boots that they will sell the new tech to every other race on the board. I don't agree with this. When other civs approach you they will sometimes offer better deals than you could get if you approached them. If you do go through with t

But I think one of the very important bugs to remove, is the fact that population growth doesn't double when approval rating is at 100%. This ruins quite a lot : Population growth bonuses don't work at all. This includes any civ-wide bonuses you may have.
