Yep, it worked.

Ok I got the email and got the serial number and I am downloading it now. What happens when it is done downloading. Is it automatically installed? Or do I have to run something? It started downloading without the serial number? When do I do that? Why do I have so many questions? Yea, I'm stupid. But directions would help.
Ok I am downloading but obviously everyone is doing it at the same time and so even with my dsl it is taking forever. It said install without asking my serial number. Does that come later?
I have the serial number and I run Stardock Central but how do I download it? I don't see it anywhere as an update or purchased software. If I right click, exactly where?
Maybe my games don't last long enough, but I tend to stay with basic factories. Factories, enhanced factories, industrial sectors increase your output per square but cost substantially more. I realize that upgraded factories take up fewer square allowing for other improvement. For example basic factories produce 6 and cost 50; enhanced produce 8 and cost 75. A 1/3 increase in production and 1/2 increase in cost. Same for other increases.
I just downloaded Stardock Central in anticipation of getting the expansion. I noticed that for the current GalCiv2 the latest patch is 1.40x.071 and apparently I am using 1.40X.053. Any apprecialble differences?
Do farms affect population only until you get to the limit of the planet? Or do they help before that?
Mousing on the improvement and hitting delete does it. But for some reason the colony list (the main one on the left of the screen) doesn't stay on the same planet after you do it. So it is back to click on the improvement and click on the x.
I can't believe this hasn't been fixed. Save it for the expansion.
The most annoying part of a big game (I guess it is fixed in the expansion) is to conquer a planet and then get stuck with a factory upgrade which applies to every factory in your collection of planets. If you leave it there, it ultimately starts to bankrupt you. So I have to manually delete them and stick some stock exchanges in there. This can take 45 minutes. Then I get another factory upgrade and have to do the same thing over. Any way to empty the planet improvement queues
I have way too many ship designs. But on a huge map after an hour late in the gane, the game starts dragging. Usually saving and reloading helps. I have a P4 3.2 gig with a cheapo memory card. Even after I end the game that I have played for a long time, my computer is sluggish unless I reboot.
Neutral and Xeno Ethics gets you 3 more pq's per planet. That's a big help. Ultimately, in a pure war situation, it is resources that determines who wins. The extra pq's come in handy for more factories and stock exchanges.
Republic gives you an economic boost. Doed Democracy have any effect on the economy?
This a big problem in the game. As I conquered planets, I kept getting stuck with improvements (usually factory related) that started to wreck my economy. I had to manually fix each planet. Has anyone else used this mod mentioned above? Is it a significant improvement? It includes a planetimprovement.xml file? Is it for the latest version of the game. I am also looking for a way to generate more money in the mid to end game. After I go to Republic, all I can do is buil
I later found a website selling replacement HP computers. They had mine listed and the replacement was an ATX. Now I need someone to do it. I know it is not hard but that and motherboards are only things I haven't done. But I am still looking for a 300 watt upgrade video card. I ain't playing doom and I don't need anything that special.
I suspect HP may use a proprietary power supply. Don't know. How can I found out?
I have a HP 3.2 gig computer with 1 gig memory. But the video card the ATI X300 is rather slow. Most of the mid-range video cards (if they say) require 350 watts on up. Any suggestions? I can replace video cards but I don't have the expertise to replace the power supply and computer stores don't much exist around here. If I can, I'd like to keep 300 watter if I can. I don't play intense video games on the machine. But I notice on Galciv2 my ships start stuttering i
The best way is to play on easy mode. When the game is set up, you probably don't want your computer competitors blocking you from the rest of the universe. Look at the mini map with the first icon in second row on. It will show where people are. If you don't have enough breathing space, hit Control-N and the computer will generate another universe and change the starting point. If you don't want to ally and want a military victory, don't exchange techs. Look for anomalies with money. You
If your ship survives a fight but is damaged, the ship icons glows (burns). Can you tell how damaged the ship is (like what percent?)
The lowest resolution I have used is 1024 x 768.
What we really need is to be able to save queues on planet improvements. And then be able to reuse them. I generally start off with 3 factories, then, etc. The computer would need to be smart enough where to place the factories--on the bonus mfr tiles first and other other bonus tiles last. If we could do in Stars! at a little over 1 meg for the whole game, we should be able to it here.
I play military. Near the end of the game, all AI's are gone and I have to keep hitting the space bar to let my ships move. Eventually hit the turn button, do more hitting the space bar. Takes about 5 min and then the victory screen comes up. Is the extra time to help run your score up or what? Why not give the victory screen when the last AI is gone?
don't know if this feature was announced, but I sure was surprised when I noticed "Newest" "Old" and "All" tabs on my planetary improvement list. Is this in the current non-beta version or in a beta version?
You also need to have enough miniaturization for them to show up, not just the techs for the components themselves. I have the techs and I have the space. When I go to look for a certain type of ship and it is not there, I rebuild it imediately. Meaning it should show up. Some of my old models do show up on time.
I'm only concerned with the gold v 1.0 version.
