Today I found the problem only happens with monitor layouts with one over another.
Hi SeaBobWire, yup you got it. We were able to resolve the issue; your observation is correct and thank you! Give the copy https://cdn.stardock.us/support/uploads/Fences5_5.8.2.5-j132-Setup.exe a try and let us know h

Hi cabyrd122564, we have a new copy ready for testing. It will show as "v5.82 Revision 5" in the About tab. You can get it here. <a id="menurahi" class="fui-Link ___1rxvrpe f2hkw1w f3rmtva f1ewtqcl fyind8e f1k6fduh f1w7gpdv fk6
Please also try use of the "Align to Grid" option, if "Auto Arrange" is not suitable. Please let us know if that helps?
Hi gdownton- your best option would be to create shortcuts to the desired drives on your desktop and put them in a Fence group. Or create a folder with such links to the drives and create that as a Folder Portal. You can drag and drop to those shortcuts and hold shift to move files to the drive when you drop.
Thanks cabyrd122564, I’m seeing some oddities in your log. We’ll get you an updated copy later this week to go through the process again to get more information. It may take several rounds, but hoping to get to the bottom of it. Thank you

The desktop is not the same as the first time I installed Fences 5.81 but it inherited the Desktop image depending on how it was setup when it was uninstalled and that has become the new Default desktop screen.
Hi cabyrd, we have a new test version which will generate some debug data which may help look into the issue. Hi sakodock2, This new copy may or may not help you, but can you use the instructions over at https://forums.stardock.com/529991/page/1 to send us your debug data? You'll want to install the copy, reboot, then restore one of those backups that works properly / adjust your layout a little bit, then reboot to see if your layout sticks or not. It's possible it fixes the issue and upon reboot everything is working.

There have been a few users reporting issues with this recently – we're working on a special build to output more debug information, to hopefully move this forward. Please stay tuned thank you!
Why we name our backups? Well we frequently use RDP for remote control. And the host from where with start the RDP session is always different. Sometimes it's from a laptop, sometimes from a WS with 1 screen, 2 screens, curved screen, etc. So we name the backups after the computer initiating the RDP session.
In good news, you no longer need to use backups to achieve this, and your desired behavior should now happen

Hi elspringer, this is just a text-encoding issue with the installer packager tool we use, and the title we updated. We put a "™" symbol in there and the installer packager couldn't handle it without doing some extra work for it to recognize the extended character set. It's being looked at and should be resolved soon. Thanks for your patience Regarding the Chinese language issues, we likewise are looking for an update from the vendor which hopefully will bett
Hi rbrimson01 – when this happens, does doing a restore from backup fix the issue? (In the layouts tab.) Also, if you move the Fence, do the icons go with it? Or have they just outright falling out of the Fence. Thank you
While this feature is one the team would be interested in doing, being notified of Task View / Virtual Desktop changes is unfortunately not provided by Windows via any public API, and the private APIs change (and therefore break) very often. As result, unfortunately this would be an unreliable feature if we were to offer it, and so we've been unable to offer it so far. We're on the lookout should this one day change! Thank you for the request.
Fences v3 is unfortunately well out of support — we’re actively patching current Windows 11 compatibility issues as they come up, and this is a known issue with 24H2 that we have fixed via a compatibility update. You’ll need to upgrade to the latest version, and while we understand it’s not a preferable licensing model, we recommend the subscription to ensure you stay up to date with the latest Windows changes.
Oh! Yes. Typo thank you. 🙏
