So what were the four reasons?

Hi Celeborne! If you want to post your bio, just put it here in this thread and Theoden will add it to the Fellowship page.
Okay Theoden, just read your story. Seeds of inspiration are germinating in my mind. Could someone give a super-quick run-down of the War of the Worlds and the Fellowship's place in it? I read the first fifteen posts in the WotW thread then lost interest in it.
I'm pretty sure the spending limits are relaxed for the computers, though I'm not sure how intentional this is. Anyway, based on what you describe the computer is clearly doing something we can't. The only possible legal way for this behavior to happen would be for some other civ to give it 7k and then for the minor to buy the wonder with it, which is obviously ridiculous. However, Frogboy has specifically said that wonders don't poof out of thin air in Galciv, so I doubt that we're see
I certainly don't mind being included and I'll read your story when I get a chance. I'm just not sure that I would enjoy writing for it, since the setting doesn't appeal to my imagination all that much--but you never know, sometimes ideas come from surprising sources and at surprising times. How much of the stuff there have you read? Do you have any favorites?
I've actually been mentally composing a continuation to the Evil Ray story while I work. It's probably obvious from all my posts that I'm not getting much actual work done today :( I'm not sure I'd enjoy writing in the world of the War of the Worlds.
Should be easy to test. Play five turns at 100%, one turn at 99%, and retire.
And a big welcome back to FriendJosh! Okay, how do people catch these? Ray always seems to know immediately when someone joins. Now you do too.
Random thought: does anyone else think it would be interesting to have empire rankings sortable by morality, just like the player rankings? So we might see the Fellowship first overall, but GROSS as the top empire in terms of Evil games and Anzacs as top empire in terms of Good games, or something. Might add more competition to a Metaverse that has been pretty stable, and would give the smaller empires something to shoot for. For example Evil Empire, which is a really neat concept, is too small
Good luck Theoden! Let us know how it goes.
I've only tried this once, and it didn't work out well due to the vagarities of the map. But you might want to try a 1 on 1 game, you versus a single AI.
If you're at 99.8% average approval will it round up?
It's one of the options for the minimap view. It's the button next to the "show autopilot" option, under the minimap, if I recall correctly. It shows circles around the settled stars on the minimap, with the size of the circle representing the amount of population on the star system.
weird double post [Message Edited]
I enjoyed the story, TheQuack.
And yes I have seen that in the normal course of play. Minor civ builds wonder, so you check. They didn't have the moola.. You then build it out from under them by reloading a turn earlier and they build another one (thus eliminating the possibility that that particular planet had finished it by building it.) The only reasonable conclusion is it's getting one given to it at random. Something the devs said wouldn't happen.
Did
I'd agree... have you experimented with trying to find the files with the UI and switching them around?
Interesting. I have it on as my default. It helps keep you informed when another major is taking a beating.
Meanwhile, what the heck is Cotal up to?
It's more for convienence to see where all the AI worlds are rather than manually using the diplomacy screen
Why don't you just use the minimap "population" option?
Damn it vincible! I INSIST you stay on small maps
LOL The game's not going so well, if that's any consolation :)
It's a cute cat.
I'm starting my second Gigantic game ever. Now that I have a computer that can handle it, hopefully it will be more fun than the first. Ray, do you research Stellar Cartography on Huge and Gigantic maps? [Message Edited]
Wow Nand1, I'm really looking forward to your mod pack. I enjoyed playing a few games with your Empire-wide Resort.
It will not trade *cash* with you. Everything else is up for grabs.
Better watch out, Ray. You may have the lead but Cotal's gunning hard for the top spot.
Or conversely, the main economic screen containing your sliders could show the number of months needed to finish research.
