park a constructor next to the AI's resources
I live by that moto. I actually go one step further and park a ship beside the starbase and give the ship to the that AI's ememy. 9 times out of 10 the first move the new ship owner does is destroy the starbase.
this kind of advice has helped me beat maso/tiny
It worked, I just posted my first win MASO/Tiny/Rare. Was fairly easy actually but long. I never had a military and only had to give in to 2 different demands for money.
One thing that was very annoying for me in MOO2 was when you have a battle between one hundred ships and you have to move all of them since you won't rely on the AI to conduct the battle for you.
There was a keyboard shortcut that automated the attacks. It was not as efficient as do the moves manually. I can't remember the shortcut but I think that it was in the readme.txt file in the Moo2 directory.
One nice feature in MOO2 was the abitity to transform asteroid belt and giant gas into habitable planets
You could do that? I am sure I never knew about that feature.
jmgarth posted suggestions on the Tiny MASO walkthru thread in this forum. Thanks jmgarth [Message Edited]
PART II (of #6 by Veteran Theoden of Rohan) Q: The other empires despise me...everybody's HOSTILE! I don't want to go to war with everybody. What can I do? Another trick for all game levels but MASO is to trade techs for cash to all AI equally. When they have no cash trade techs for techs. When they have no cash or techs to trade and they are not diplomatically close to you, trade techs for influence points. Trade everything but Diplomacy type techs.
Hockey was Toronto They sucked, long live Calgary Now, flames burn lightning
Message for recruitment. Midwest, Pirates, NO! Come now to the CSF red white maple leaf
Hey what about me? I was once in the top 5. But you know that old saw about not being a MASO player? Well I am trying my darndest to stay in the top 75 now. :)
I would like to participate in a MASO / TINY succession game. BAM_BAM are you up for it? I think that every has the large/huge MASO strategies down.
I have v1.20 now and still no wins on MASO / Tiny. Does anyone have any advice using the latest patches? Thanks
I have to try my hand at these. Technician is gone CSF is fading now can it continue? We are the undead Paguma, Damoose and I where are all the snacks? Green, spineless, tasty They are a delicacy Torian cookbook Hey, come one, come all The Torian BBQ BYOGT (bring your own gutted Torian)
Are there any active succession games in progress now?
I play Tiny / Crippling and can win fairly easily although the game takes about 2 hours. I still can't figure out how to play Tiny / MASO. I know that there are some people playing this type of game. Anybody have suggested strategies ?
I am for aging to a degree, It gives a chance for new players to climb the standings
I do not agree with aging. I think that over time some people will just become tired of the game or move to playing other games. Lets face reality, most games do not last much more than a year. Stardock has supported Galciv v1.xx for a year now and they are adding the new expansion pack in June. They are talking about v2.00 sometime before the end of the 2004. At t
I was there a while back (admittedly before AP) as the only top 25 player without a maso game.
I was there very close to 3rd spot for weeks during the v1.13 days. I do not play MASO either. Although I have stopped making any headway now.
You can only get the excaliber if your alignment is good.
The Metaverse and Game Scoring problems as I see them. The metaverse is a great feature for the game and community. Stardock's support for the game and community is to be commended and other developers should take a page out of their book. The game scoring system is very lopsided and that games are only being kept for 331 days is frustrating. These two things are very frustrating for players that play the game and the Metaverse game. Seeing how I am complaining abou
I just recently found out that if you finish the game before Jan 2190 your score is half of what it could be. Something like this brings me to a feature that I would love to see at the summary screen of the game, a score summary. The score summary should show what is calculated to make the end game score. Since all the calculation are most likely done at the end of the game why not just do a bit of formating and print them to the screen? This may help people get la
Re #236 Thanks for the update. I searched this forum using different key words.
The end of game summaries appear to be broken. The individual summaries are horribly wrong. In fact my latest game shows no ships destroyed by any AI including myself. I think I also seen that, 2 of the AIs listed my planets as having the highest research but I never lost these planets. For every version of the game I have played the end of turn summaries have been getting worse. I consider them to be totally broken now. I hope that CariElf can get this fixed I really do
I was a fan of Moo1 and Moo2. I played Moo2 more than any other game. When Moo3 came out I tried to play it but even at the normal levels I kept getting defeated and I never really knew what I was doing wrong. The manual was pitiful and the tech support was nonexistant. Before buying most games I usually wait until I read some reviews from players and not magazines. This time I listened to the magazine previews and got suckered! Moo3 is a terrible game and I chucked it in the garba
I guess this is what happens when a 12 year old is at the helm. It is amazing that everyone is finding it convenient to blame Cotal and myself. Maybe you should take a deep breath and look at your own attitudes. This is a game not a life style. Have some fun and don't get so worked up. Before yesterday, I was a member of only 3 empires. During my 3 month time playing GALCIV. The Canadian legion, my own which I abandoned and then the Anzacs. There was a couple of days that I
