Too be more general that Naqmir, the biggest contributer to your score is to finish with a military victory after Jan 2190. Another thing is to play with the most recent version of the game. v1.20 for regular Galciv and v1.50 for AP Galciv. Everything else is gravy. [Message Edited]

All AIs when set to crippling or higher should recognize culture bombing as a threat even from one sector away and should be able to make an informed decision to eliminate that threat. [Message Edited]

I would like to see some new AI that do not trade techs for techs or cash. This AI should be agressive and research smart. It should not have the incredible bonuses that MASO AI has but it should be as smart or even smarter. Perhaps it should try to form early alliancse with other AI of similar alignments That would be challenging.
If you want a challenge, try attacking the aliens as soon as you meet them on Maso...
Actually I would like to see the AI have the intelligence of MASO or even more but without the incredibly unfair bonuses that MASO has now.
But we have been examined because we were submitting more than one game a day. Does this imply that they thought we might be cheating?
If they examined everyone for cheating or just the people that submit more than one game I don't care. I feel better knowing that no one in the Metaverse is cheating.
Yes, and both Renegade and Loth said they played every game. Their work aginst Stardock. Not proof of anything.
You must be right, I am worn out
Am I unique in this observation or have others found similar?
Depends on how you play really. MASO is easy if you concentrate on getting them to like you. Doing this primarily through trading of techs and bribing. I like to play an agressive game involving combat but in order to do that my game play is quite different and I am unable to beat MASO that way. I think that I like Crippling better but I am constantly trying to change my MASO strategy to b
I more would want a general video playback, with adjustable speeds and charts, thus giving the ability to watch the game progress, while charts could be opened and closed showing various statastics, plus the ability to either watch it all or see what a certain player could see.
I like this idea, I played a game Called Global Conquest which had this feature. After a 2/3 or 4 player game we would watch the video to see how each persons strategy played out. We would criti

Since there has been so much published for MASO strategies, specially the research and build orders I would think that there are lots of people out there that never vary the research/build order. Most of the MASO players stick to and replay the same strategy to get the alliance win. The important thing is none of the other top game posters got flagged for cheating. These peoples games would be following a formula that most likely rarely if ever varies. I do understand Weyrlea
I merely said that they can say something like the following: "Stardock has determined that cheating took place in the following area and/or ways:" and then explain how cheating was the only way that that could happen. Stardock has not done that.
Stardock has said that the only way this could happen was someone changed the game ID from previously submitted games and resubmitted them. They also stated that everything was the same except for the Game ID and sometimes
What gets me, however, is how one AI civilization can seem to dominate EVERYTHING from early on. IE: the Yor can get the most tech, ships, and money right off the bat (or whoever, just for the sake of argument). Anyway, I'll just have to try sticking it out longer.
It seems that different factors such as location to other AIs, planet types, trading of Techs and general trade contribute to how aggressive and successful an AI is. I have played games on easier modes where I
just keep in mind as much as we would like one they owe an explanation only to those removed, but not to us, so don't be disappointed if they don't, but they probably will...
True, but the forums are in a bit of a turmoil and an announcement could go a long way to straighting this up. Because these 2 players are of such a high rank and visibility I think stardock should say something. We would not be this confused and disappointed if the people remov
I agree. But, since they invited us into their house, they should post the rules and not ask every one to figure them out as part of the game.
Here is the http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/legend.asp for the rules which are posted. The rules say
Important Notice: The Metaverse submits more than just your score. It also uploads game data that can be used to calculate ones score. My take on this is, some people are hacking games that are already submitted to change the ID of that game. This means that they can resubmit it as a different game when it is not. I am pretty sure that is the CHEESE Frogboy is talking about. If it is I would question his choice of wording and say it for what it is ... CHEATING! I do not feel that stardock is upset that people have figured out a way to legitimately play LARGE/MASO games in 30 minutes and post many a day.
I should also point out that we reserve the right to remove any game submitted from the metaverse for any reason we choose. If we feel cheese is being used to win top spots, we'll remove those games. If someone doesn't like our rules, they can go set up their own ladder and cheese themselves.
Frogboy, I would much rather you wipe out these peoples entire scores and award them a new medal indicating Cheater.
Ray may have played 85 games, 2 games were dropped. After the Metaverse was fixed the 2 games were added back into the total.
No you didn't read my post right. On June 14 two days ago he had 2 games less than he has today. How is that possible? The Metaverse was fixed about a month ago.
