I've been a Stardock customer since their Galactic Civilizations (v1.0, for OS/2 (which wins the "Ugliest box ever" contest)) days and I've kept up with their products and offerings ever since. Lurked for a while, posted anon for a while, then created an account and a blog and had no articles of my own for at least 2 months; just commented. I don't believe that I know anybody here IRL.

Or maybe you should say "Yeah, I was just returning your call from before. So what were you calling about?" Who knows, maybe his brain will explode.

A while ago Gideon posted a couple of poems he'd created from amusing or interesting blog titles. Well, today I noticed a couple of very amusing juxtaposed blog titles and, always being willing to steal a good idea, thought I'd have a go at making a poem of sorts out of them. This is more in line with the Exquisite Corpse style of poetry (see <a href=https

Good going, mig, I knew as soon as I saw you say "beehive" that it was the right answer. I'd been thinking along the lines of an egg or a henhouse, but those only fit half the riddle. Trina, the only idea I have for your last one is 99, because 9x9 = 81, while 9+9=18 (81 backwards). Which seems pretty weak, but it's all I've got.

Personally I have classed Ms. "Ryder" here as the same kind of blogger as our famous Sir Peter: one whose posts are all completely fabricated and only vaguely interesting. The difference is that Ashlee seems to have some sort of vested interest in getting people to believe what she writes, whereas SPM makes only his standard little "of course I'm me" occasionally, and SPM is controversial. So Ashlee doesn't even rise to whatever infinitesimal

I don't think you could get someone investigated for establishing a "virtual relationship" with a minor. If person A tried to get person B to physically meet up when A is overage and B is underage, that would be a crime. But without further evidence that such a thing actually occurred, the mere fact that person A said "B and I are having an online relationship now!" is probably not enough to get A into legal trouble.

Okay, the refrigerator saga is finally drawing to a close. (recap: fridge broke. wait 3 weeks for part. Wrong part. pick replacement fridge. wait for delivery.) Yesterday our replacement fridge was delivered, and today it is just as cold inside as the old one ever was. Yay! And it's even a little nicer than the old one (it's a "gold" model, with clear shelves

Actually, mig, if I recall correctly, the rebuke went something like "They're certainly imaginative and amusing, but we have to keep up our professional standards." I do think that the person who had to call me on them rather liked them herself.

A LONG time ago, when I was still doing temp work (back in like 1989 or so), I got a stint at a medical records company. Part of my job involved calling the insurance companies to find out why claims were being denied. In many cases it was because the insured had died, so I wrote "Patient Deceased" on the file. After a fair number of these, I got tired of writing "Patient Deceased", so I started writing new things, like: Patient die

how about: Clingy Clara, cries any time you put her down Messy Mark, takes whatever you try to feed him and spreads it over a 100-square-foot area Leaky Lisa, has a variable-release reservoir so you never know when or how much she's going to wet. Pouty Pete, screams for a different toy every 30-90 seconds. Gassy Gary, comes with his own methane supply. Shy Shelly, screams whenever another person ap

Third new one is easy: DAVID. Hm... The others aren't quite so simple. Darn it. Wait, wait: the first one is: You are a riddle poser! Okay, I only say that because the riddle talks about "it" this, "it" that, then asks "what am I? " which clearly refers not to the previous "it", but to the speaker. For a more standard answer, I'll have to think a
