No problem. One other thing though: For some reason my metaverse scores don't add up correctly (yes, I know the formula): I submitted five games (since Feb 27), if I sum the scores up and divide by the square root of 5, I get 318,264 - the metaverse lists 286,400 though. My guess is that it happens because I actually resubmitted two of the games one t

Thanks andrew, it is fine now. (Yay! I can finally boast with my bronze medal once they're shown again on the forums. ) Seemed like something got stuck over the last days, yes.
Sounds like a good idea to me!
What's up with the Metaverse? The ranking hasn't been updated for several days.

The metaverse ranking hasn't been updated for at least 63 hours (!). I submitted a game at that time, but my rank never changed until now - which is a pity because I'd be third, I fear the bronze medal will slip right through my hands...
Won't happen. It's because of the bending of space with HyperDrive that squares are used, you know?
For example: Social Production. Social Production could be automatically transferred to ship building when all planetary improvements are done. This would solve the potential issue of people's economy becoming crazy when all social projects are completed. And if there's no ship to be built, it would just go back to your treasury.
float pShip->TurnsToReachPoint(ulTileX,ulTileY); I'll put my money on the AI evaluating speed better: How many turns will it take for the AI to get from A to B? And how many turns is the enemy ship really away from an AI planet? - Things like that, sounds good! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/
know the max pop each planet can sustain The formula was (PQ+1)^3 * 20 millions, right? Are there any other modifiers?

@Magnumaniac: Thanks a lot for your detailed input. Interesting to see the way you're playing, there are both similarities and differences. I forgot to mention that tech trading loses its appeal once you're big enough (or the other races are too busy) to do all research on your own. I've yet to try the dark side with psyonic beams and the like, the (overpowered?) nano ripper was enough for me until now. @Voqar: Yes, there's always
Got a big boost around 3 years from the end, with the all planets within 2 sectors event - got 50 new PQ11 planets out of that. I figured that total population plays a big role for the score in the end. Do you have any other hints regarding the scoring - or are they "business secrets"? <img src="http://imag
I think you get a popup when your espionage efforts are high enough. This might be a bit stretched though for simple informations like declarations of war and the like.
Damn, and I thought it was Brad!
I just posted an article about AI (and some game) weaknesses Link , I hope they can be helpful.
Disclaimer: The following lines are about tactics that allow you to win without breaking much of a sweat on even the highest difficulty levels (yes, we’re talking about „Suicidal" here) – they’re very close to or even on the other side of the border of cheese tactics. If you don’t like that or despise those who use them, don’t bother posting in this thread as it won’t do any good to both you and me. However, my goal is not to flame about how e
I agree that tech trading is too easy in the game and should be made A LOT harder - at least on the high and very high difficulty levels. I'd definitely second an option to switch it off as well, a simple (working ) checkbox would be enough for me though.
*bump* Is Stardock aware of the problem? If not, we should bring it to attention.
Wow, Magnum! Over 567k points! What settings did you use for this one? I think I'll try a game with evil alignment next, seems like you get more points with it.
I noticed the same thing. The fleets should be formed faster in the "waiting stack", and the AI could put them to use faster as well.
Influence is temporarily reduced for everybody, I think.
I second comments no. 2 and 3 of Binnister, the AI is building nice ships and forms good fleets with it (although a bit slow sometimes), but it is rarely taking the initiative. I'm almost never on the defending side in a battle because usually the AI ships are too slow for that and even when they have the opportunity to strike first, often enough they don't use it. From time to time the AI even seems to forget to move some ships, even at war (!).
I second the idea of having special medals for a number of victories of a given kind (tech/culture/military/alliance).
Same for me - I don't see any medals on the forum. I think the feature is switched off at the moment - what a pity!
