May I offer an opinion from outside the Fellowship? I'd appreciate it if you would stay visible to the rest of us - it enhances the social atmosphere, allows us ALL to share ideas and generate enthusiasm for the game and provides support for each other. It maintains a critical mass of interest in the game, especially in the development of 'wish lists' and bug hunts on the release of new versions. The Euro empire, for example, no doubt contains some great players, but their thread is rel
My first thought upon reading the title was that ANZAC had make breakthrough's in their Sheep-bombing techniqes...
Little do you know....... ;) I tend to agree with those above who argue for simplicity. Luke is obviously arguing for a MOO-type species attribute, but I think these things are dealt with in the 10 points you get to spend on this up front. This is why you are ALWAYS the Terrans although you can MAKE them into your personal equivalent of builders, d
Hehe...you score more than I do again, Hurley ;) And given your recent decision to surface in this thread, the musical connection is obvious: HURLEY COMES ALIVE LOL Are we having a real time conversation?
Good stuff guys....develop the theme...and concentrating all your efforts in the one place makes it MUCH easier to target you for our next assault, when you're all standing in the one place, virtually speaking....muhahahahahah..... :HOT:
Hurley - the mystery man surfaces! And he's a VICTORIAN too :CONGRAT: Stubborness = ANZAC spirit; and I think we are of a similar vintage Hurley (my score: 41). Note that Australia has some of the most venomous snakes in the world - I sense much work coming up for Slitherin.
Good job bakka - I like it; positive encouragement is what we need. My congrats to ajm37 too and a pat on the back to Slitherin and Hurley! Chris: zombies=Canadians; so named because they've managed to sneak up like the undead! I slipped a neat little story into their thread, and the bastards don't even log on to read it! Ray the Wanderer (=RayChua) decided FOTR suited his roleplaying better than WC - basically so those who wanted to roleplay something other than wizards could participa
He's baaaaaaaaak! Telstra ON LINE! A sight to warm a wombat's heart - fire up ANZACs!
Deep in the bowels of the ANZAC laboratories, I have been reflecting on the recent troll incursion and trying to develop antidotes and defences. Then, I realised that the way to defeat trolls is to simply offer that which they do not. I have simply dropped this note in to say how much I appreciate the attitude of Stardock and the many board contributors; I enjoy the banter, stories, expertise and wisdom on and off topic that I see here. I have been computer gaming for 20 years, and read
I get mine over 10k because I turn off all vic. conditions. And then I get as many planets as possible, research all tech, and get as many trade goods and wonders as possible. That's pretty much it.
EBZ: What does turning off ALL the conditions do for you, though? Like you, I mostly go for military wins, as I figure they're worth more than any other sort. I certainly turn off cultural victory, as the computer often ends the game much earlier than I want it to. Even if you
Cypher - I've had the same problem. I see players draw a small map game out to over 10,000 points, but don't understand how they get such a big score. Like you, I found my small map scores at Beginner averaging just over 4k, then normal just over 5k - last couple of challenging getting 5.5-just over 6k with no connection between gscore and mscore (gscore usually much higher). I'd love to make climbing the difficulty scale worth the effort! Kit: beaming over a slab of Fosters for you - t
Kit - Drop Bear is moving and will hopefully be back up within the next week. He tells us Telstra (our national telco) takes a WEEK to connect him up. We too will welcome him back to the mob.
So...are you a landowner now Cotal? That is, have you deposited one kidney at the bank as collateral? Hope things are going well for you.....
Shaded behind a eucalypt tree, a hooded stranger watches the proceedings intently. A pink and grey galah is perched on his shoulder. Sipping a strange brew, he glances up into the branches of the tree, where a small koala bear gnaws lazily on the surrounding leaves. "Soon, my creatures, soon.....we shall test the mettle of this so-called "Fellowship".....
A small stealth shuttle from the BattleCruiser Waltzing Matilda docks alongside a ship of the Canadian Star Federation. Passing through the non-functioning airlock, the suited-up Space Wombat and Slitherin move into the ship of the dead..... Slitherin: "Wombat...see those groups of undead playing with those strange sticks and small rubber disk...and look, that group over there in red, white and blue t-shirts...what does it all mean?" Wombat: "That other group...is from Quebec[s
We should hold a celebration honoring him for this greatthing he has done.
Don't do it Staffa - DO NOT FEED THE TROLL - they only get bigger.....
Thats not cool someone with no points shouldn't be trashing people I mean I have no points but I don't go around dissing people.
The guy is simply a troll, Darth. Hang around enough boards and you'll see plenty of 'em. The only tactic I have seen that works is starvation - if you don't respond, they give up and go away. Yes, the guy's a loser with no cred (hasn't even got the GAME, for goodness' sake!) but there's no way you'll be able to tell HIM that. No sheep for him.
Ahhh....a troll. You know, one of the reasons I like this board is that I'd not previously seen a troll here. All good things must come to an end, I suppose. Heads up everyone - the only way to make a troll go away is NOT to answer (or for the board moderators to suspend them). END TRANSMISSION
Ray - I think you've encapsulated a key issue with NWN. I certainly got a lot more out of Baldurs Gate II because I could raise a party with a variety of skills and abilities; I enjoyed the process a lot more. I think you have to acknowledge the technical achievement that NWN represents, though - to have a computer based system complete with authoring capacity, that will run an "AI" adventure or allow a human DM within a 3D graphic environment AND allow all this over the Net...pretty damn good i
Oh my...I think I've come across someone near my own vintage (I'm 41 - shit I'm OLD). My Metaverse destruction is being intermittently interrupted with adventuring in the Forgotten Realms with the new Neverwinter Nights expansion pack - have you tried it? I sometimes wonder what my childhood would have been like with the sort of CRPGs and strat games available today.....
HFO - sorry if you've posted this already, but is there a resolution to the 'wastage' issue in social production, ie can you now build 'nothing' and not waste money? And Ray - the Fellowship of the Ring sounds much better IMHO, more room to roleplay. Also, more avenues of attack for your worthy foes..... :HOT:
I need someone to sing me a lullaby
I think that's the problem - these midwesterners are still listening to Blood Sweat and Tears. Shouldn't you be listening to John Mellencamp?
Good stuff BlueSteel - I needed to hear that! Thanks to others for encouragement, too. Re web site - I find these threads are enough, but happy to contribute if it is the will of the group. Slitherin - a sandgroper in the right spot can cause real trouble - there's work for you in the Metaverse! Right - time to continue my role as a WMD (Wombat of Mass Destruction). :HOT:
The GROSS crew are at breakfast, the clean up from the night's fearful Wiggles' attack still going on around them. Gerakken raises a piece of toast to his mouth...and Pontius triple somersaults down the length of the table to slap it out of his hand. Ger: "I thought toast was a bit nancy for pirate scum like us, Pontius, but gee, I'm hungry, you know...." Pontius' keen eye surveys the breakfast table...and comes to light on a small jar with a yellow label. He opens the jar and
Two guards are stationed outside the Republic War Room...and are approached by two large yellow bananas, wearing striped pyjamas, trailing an astromech droid behind them. Guard: "HALT! No one gains admission to the War Room! Especially not two suspicious looking bananas and a droid!!" B1: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, B2?" B2: "Yes, B1. [gestures towards guard] These aren't the bananas you're looking for. They can go about their business. Move along." Guard: "These aren't
Pontius - just a little present to celebrate your ascension! :CONGRAT:
