We have already scoped out this 'War Room'...our attack wombats are tunnelling under their foundations...funnel web spiders with listening devices in the walls...I think you overestimate their chances, Gerakken....
And that's typical of the ANZACs: they talk tough but are really marshmellows at heart
Hehe...we are, after all, the primary force for good in the universe. This justifies, of course, our attempts to assimilate every other empire in the cause of rightness....
Chris: You're a legend ;)
Hmmm....thanks Gerakken....this opens up all new possibilities..... I feel some global 'education' is in order....we can introduce the world to native ANZAC creatures...eeexxeellleenntt.... ;)
Cotal...you're a baaaaaad girl....I think the issue is: what does the GAME do about you? At least the tech tree knows - only some are available depending on alignment, isn't that right? Surely alignment should bar you from alliances, or even trade, with opposing civs? Should it be harsher - no chance of redemption? Chris: your new creatures sound good. What shall we call them? Clipped bears...no...nude bears? The Nude Bear Attack? It's the NBA - I love this game!
Thanks Ralegh - I'll go back to the drawing board! Kudos also for your work on the manual for the GalCiv community. Cheers!
I am ever-so-slowly getting the knack of bartering tech to bring the AIs to their knees economically...at times, they have no cash left to spend but I have techs left over. What is the real value of trading for influence points rather than cash? What is it that I really gain? What are the consequences for the AIs?
Has Space Wombat lost interest in sheep and moved on to bigger game.
Now firstly, this presumes that Pontius is in fact bigger and more interesting than an antipodean sheep - which is a point of some debate, given he comes from the same country that produced MWC ;) I must, however, vouch for the chicks at the Galactic Mustang Ranch, who provide a service that takes a man's mind (and body) far away from sheep.....
Hey you guys...at least give me a bit of credit for creativity, for Christ's sake! You may have come across my plans for Empire assimilation in various threads - I tried to use a selection of native animals to spread our ANZAC nanovirus to GROSS, White Council and MWC. Just jump right in and spread the ANZAC goodness to all those other Empires anyway you can. Chris: good to see you around, and I guess I'll wait for you to get this competitive thing our of your system...but I detect a ce
RED ALERT!!! RED ALERT!!! There's an ANZAC being held away from his computer - but Drop Bear, we'll have to see that pretty blue flag with the white stars beside your name before we mobilise the troops..... [Message Edited]
We play for the fun of it.
Young fools....only now, at the end, do you realise the truth......your faith in your friends is your weakness..... And if there's one thing Australia and New Zealand will NEVER run out of - it's sheep.... LOL
The White Council sit around their massive table, a large crystal ball glittering at its centre. The group is wreathed in white smoke, as they are most of the time, contemplating the universe, time, space and their own naval fluff. RayChua: "Well, my wizards, I hope we are all flying over the appopriate landscape, after a few hours of this good 'smoke'? Philo: "Yeah RayBaby, I'm good....now I don't know if I've had too much smoke today....but is there something IN our crys
surthur, plephart and idleprocess are sitting on the porch of their homestead, gazing out over the vast Ponderosa, when surthur spots a small echindna climbing up onto the porch. S:"Well, will you look at that! Hey y'all, it looks like a teeny tiny hedgehog!" P:" Hey, I saw that in National Geographic, next to them pictures of naked natives...it's called an 'echidna' - ain't it the cutest little thing...." The echidna shuffles towards the three men, then curles itself
Gerakken is tinkering over the port engine of the Survey Ship Doom, wrench in hand, when he hears a scratching sound from the rafters overhead. He looks up, only to be blinded by a hairy brown arse plummeting downwards at Warp 2. The impact knocks Gerakken backwards and he lies sprawled on the deck. The small bear crawls over to the still form....whip like tentacles arc out from the bear's left front paw and plunge into Gerakken's neck....a blue and white pulsing pattern is seen on Gera
What's that you say? Republic? Hmmm.....we'll see what these slack-jawed yokels have to offer pitted against the might of the Masters of the Southern Hemisphere. Bring the BattleCruiser Waltzing Matilda around; I want them scanned on all frequencies. Make sure we have exploding sheep pods readied and the drop bears are fed and watered. We'll see about this "Republic"......
RayChua is the expert on this sort of stuff, Cotal - this is a repost of his response to a similar question asked elsewhere. Hope this helps! Difficulty Level: The base score is based on the intelligence of the various computer players. This makes up the vast majority of the score. There is a slight bonus for playing as the opposite alignment as most of the players for most of the game. It looks at each turn and then looks at how much you are different each turn. But it's a relative
Amen, Quack. Erm...you got any money left, mate?
Ahh Slitherin...this is the second time you've pulled the pin...hopefully we'll see you again sometime. I salute you, the sheep are baaaing, and three small drop bears are standing to attention, with tiny tears in their eyes. /serious mode on OK - it's blindingly obvious that this thread is NOT going to turn into a real strategy and tactics forum. Go ahead, have fun, whatever...the menbers have spoken. Not sure whether or not to be happy about that...there's a tiny obsessive-compuls
But you should get bigger bonus points still for getting her into computer games as well.
Nope - bad idea; you just fight for computer time then. Only one of you can play while the other interacts with the children. You must get her hooked on something, yes, but NOT computing. My wife loves old movies....by subscribing to cable TV, she has her cathode ray addiction - and I have mine. No arguments about who's on the PC!
So, in layman's terms, get the booze first!
DOH!!! That's it - I've been spending TOO much time computing and NOT ENOUGH TIME DRINKING. :sniff!:
Geez...I'm NEVER posting serious stuff again! I've decided to abandon all the crap I posted and have printed out Bakka's list - it will become my MANTRA...Om...Om... [sits in lotus position awaiting beer delivery]
Unbeknownst to Capn Pontius, the sixpack was not the only thing in the rucksack.....
That's a pretty nice mental image of me ay? A dejected-looking ten year old with his chin in his hands, sitting alone with a board game.
Boy, that's an image I can relate to as an only child...this could turn into a group therapy session if we're not careful.... I often wonder what my childhood would have been like with today's PCs and games available - pretty amazing stuff around now.
LMAO!! Fatso is, in fact, something of an Australian icon these days...I would never presume to compare myself.... Five-O, your pseudo-masonic hand gestures failed to penetrate the Force 10 Containment field surrounding the BattleCruiser Waltzing Matilda, and your moves were rendered impotent, although these is a fellow wearing a funny costume standing over there who wants you to sign up for something.... The Care Bears are the deepest wishes of your subconscious coming to the
Space Wombat if you spent half as much time playing the game as you do on the forums your empire would be number one.
It's about fun, surthur - I still play enough to be a Fleet Captain in the Top 100, even though I'm not a very good strategy player. :D My own sheep? In a private room? Hmmm......
MWC is achievment of Australia, Asia, South America, Northern America and Europe. Of all good people with the mindset of value-added workers/players.
