Wittman, make sure you have the most up to date drivers. There is a known problem with the Athlon CPU and DirectX. I seem to remember that NVidia had some problems with the AMD as well, but got it fixed with updated drivers. Go to WindowsUpdate first, then NVidia. ~SDC~

This may be a little off topic, but, is it possible to park a colony ship (back) in orbit without landing on a planet? I've found myself wanting to do this a few times now, and was rudely reminded that I can not. :( If there is a way, please let me know. Thanks. ~SDC~

The best thing to do is when you sell one tech to an AI, go ahead and sell it to everyone else, even if you don't make much money on the deal. That way, you get something for it before the AI sells it away.

I prefer to have a short distance trade route with a lot of trade enhancing SB modules. IMO, I think it's more profitable in the long run. It's also much easier to protect in the event of war. ~SDC~

I have to agree. Your production probably far outstrips your economy. Dump those and you can set your slider to 100%, ... but why bother? Set your spending slider down and you have room to grow! ;) ~SDC~

A few suggestions... Completely delete your old GalCiv directory. Search the registry for Galactic Civilizations (although I don't think there are any) and remove any that you find. Update your drivers and make sure you have the latest directx. If that doesn't work, click on Start | Run and type in MSCONFIG. Go to the Startup tab and start unchecking stuff until the install works, as it could be an incompatibility issue. If you find something, let StarDock know, so th
