My alcohol collection is pretty typical for a uni bludger, I'm afraid. Maybe next time I go down to Melbourne for work, I could pick up a couple bottles of nice wine. You'd have to tell me what the good stuff is, though, cause I'm clueless.

Must be cause the gigantic definiton's been changed. My one that worked was only a tiny. Anyone else have stories to tell about reloading smaller maps?
A few people said their old saves didn't load at all in the new version. Mine loaded, but with a few bugs in it. It still submitted without going anomalous, though. I'd say finish on the old version.
Why, post #0, of course - your post at the top of this thread. Imagine where we'd be without it.
I tried loading a tiny game I played on 1.05, but never got around to submitting. There's three minor problems I noticed: 1) ALL the trade goods and wonders that I had the techs for were available to build again on the planet lists - even if someone had already built them. However, the trade goods I had built previously were still available in my diplo screen to trade to an enemy. I didn't try building any of these things again, cause I'm a gutless coward and I just wanted the game to s
Wow, I just had another read through the thread where it all started... you really get the impression you're in a temple when you arrive here, don't you? I say put the first post in the hall of fame - when you look at everything it set off, there's no way you can ignore it. :)
Yeah, makes things easier for us poor plebs when the chat was on in the middle of the work day. Thanks again!
Good night, Captain Sparrow. :p
Casablunda Introduction With the rise of the GROSS Empire, piracy across the Metaverse has spread ten-fold. Sector 3,1 is one of the busiest trading sectors in the Metaverse, but also the most dangerous. Every day, dozens of freighter crews are forced to abandon ship and seek out a safe haven. There is only one planet in sector 3,1 - the pirate port of Casablunda. It is a stinking hot planet, not even class 15. But the refugees have no choice. Here, the fortunate
I'm touching up my next story now - just a disclaimer, it's horribly out of date. I'll have to start on the next part straight away...
Oh, and as for the webpage - what we could do is have hyperlinks added in the stories to the "external" stories. E.g. if I mention Blue_Steel, the master spy, in my next story, when the story goes on the webpage, I add a hyperlink pointing to the story on the ANZAC thread where I got him from.
I'm feeling pretty uncultured right about now. Who'd have thought the Aussie pirates thread would have the most high culture on the entire forum? Oh, well, just send me a really good wine and a really bad wine and we'll see if I can tell which is which. :)
Ahh, the story I'm working on is getting more and more out of date... I'll have to get cracking :)
Wow, I don't look at the forum for a day and I see enough new stories to fill a book! Nicely done! :CONGRAT:
There's malicious empires, pirate empires, and self-satisfaction empires, to name a few... I'm sure you'll find the right flavour of evil for you somewhere here. :)
Yeah, I like it. Still, I think it'd be more fun to gradually bump up all the AIs to a super-mega-maso level without them noticing, then a few turns later, some constructors suddenly warp into your systems, and turn into terror stars... Now that'd bring the "AI is cheating" people back with a vengeance :)
Click - release bomb. Wheee - bomb falls. Boom - bomb explodes. Whoosh - you rocket off to the next system. Rinse, lather, repeat. If "click, wheee, boom, whoosh, click, wheee, boom, whoosh", is all you need to keep you happy, go ahead and join the evil empire. If you don't want to bomb planets and hurt people and take all their cool stuff, join some happy friendly empire. On the other hand, if you enjoy bombing planets, but you want to be involved in the social
The first digger into Berlin gets a complimentary slab of VB. :CONGRAT:
By the way, what could be more frightening than a mafia hitman who whacks you while wearing bunny slippers? What a callous disregard for his target, that he could knock someone off on the way out to pick up his morning paper and have his cup of java. Just the kind of person the Evil Empire would have on the payroll!!!
You should write Pulp Fiction 2. :)
That blog about the 51st state just reminded me that petrol's a good deal more expensive here :(
This is awkward, I feel like I'm on trial here... Theoden's explanation is spot on, though after reaading "Stardock gives out those promotions to people who contribute to the community the most", and realizing he hasn't been bumped up yet, I felt a sudden twinge of guilt. I'd like to think it was for some posts on the idea suggestion threads, but I'm not psychic. Dark Assassin - just curious, is there anything I've done that got me singled out? Anyway, you just motivated me to finish up
I just saw Pirates of the Caribbean today, and I gotta say I loved it... "but why did you burn the rum?!?" Ah, you'll get that line when you see the movie LOL
Nar, just make a "Good StarFighter" that has the power to take out a Terror Star. :)
I'm confused. Why would Draginol display mercy? That's like a mafia hitman wearing bunny slippers to work. It just doesn't happen.
Damn, I've been putting off visiting a mate to get some stuff burned to CDs... that just gave me a kick in the arse to get moving.
