Yeah, it sometimes takes a bit of time before the new icon comes through... but trust me, Rainbird, the kangaroo's there. No mind tricks this time, I promise :)

Jaws - http://www.joeuser.com/ Basically, a soap-box to rant on. I haven't started my own blog cause I haven't got anything to rant about yet :-p It'll be interesting to see what extra features they put on there, though. Might motivate us to put all our posse stories together in something the foreigners can read easily... [Message Edited]
Hairy - that just reminded me of a scam I saw on another game forum. The mods were vicious at deleting threads, but people knew the threads would get deleted and often saved a copy of the HTML. Other people who missed the discussion would ask for a copy. The catch was, those HTML files had the user's username and password written there in plain text. :notsure:
Rainbird - it doesn't matter how far you take your innuendos. Killa's got a great imagination - whenever you decide not to cross a certain line, he can take up the slack and write your character into strange, new worlds. :) [Message Edited]
Is there any way I can change my user settings to show a blog's comments by default? I can't think of anything to post on a blog yet, but I'm keen to see what happens with JoeUser...
No offense to multi-player people, but I actually think the lack of MP here keeps away some of the 1337 h4X0Rz, since they want a game where they can use cheap tricks to dominate an opponent and quit if things go bad. I guess using cheese against an AI just doesn't give them the same fix :) The other thing is that the devs actually read the threads here and post, and they don't have a fascist staff of mods going around and deleting "off-topic" threads, or using things like warning point
I thought of Australian Republic Space Explorer... but your Enterprise one sounds much better! Oh, and funny you should mention Matahari, she was a spy in WWI who used her charm very effectively to gain information ;)
You could let neutral people join as "apprentice evil-mongers", with a time-limit to start acting evil or get kicked out... you could make the leader be whoever's got the most evil score by the Gerakken Method (with some consideration for no. of games played), there's lots of things you could consider. I hope you keep an evil theme, but, it makes things much more fun. "In the left corner, we have the the original face of evil in the Metaverse, the ancient dragon of death a
Damn it, Ray, you keep going at this rate and they'll be working flat out just making up new ranks for you... Fleet Admiral, Lord Admiral, Royal Admiral... when is it enough? When does the insanity end? Ah, congrats anyway. :CONGRAT:
Don't worry, the Frisky Wombat Daycare Center caters to the needs of modern pirates. If Mrs Pax isn't convinced, remind her how bad she'll look in front of her parents if Ashlyn gets caught playing with German stick-grenades instead of rattles. That's assuming Ashlyn doesn't even blow anything up... Oh, but Mrs Pax doesn't know everything Ashlyn's got up to, does she? Eep. [Message Edited]
I don't follow fashon.. I just wear what i like and what is comfy and easy to wash.. preferably stuff which doesn't need ironing.. LOL
Ah, a style after my own heart. Isn't modern fashion great? All this 70s talk just reminded me of a dirty old 70s uni soccer jersey, about 10 sizes too small for most people - we brought it on some uni trips a few years ago, but we only made people wear it as a punishment LOL
I thought a bottle of VB was simple enough to look good in 16x16 resolution. But I'm happy to see any other new icons that come along here. You could make Australia the new capital of the fashion world, with a new icon every day!
Well, the green our sports-people use is a much darker green than the one behind the kangaroo sign, but I don't think BlueSteel was going for the green and gold theme here. I shouldn't smack you for not knowing about the green and gold, I'm sorry. I should smack our tourism people for not spreading enough "Australian cultural influence". LOL
Hehe, didn't mean to diss your art there, it's a lot better than anything I could've done. It's hard thinking up ideas that look good in 16x16 - boxing kangaroo would be nice, but all you'd see would be pixels...
Does green and yellow have any special significance?
(smack) Haven't you seen the green and gold our Aussie olympic champions wear on the gold medal podium? Looks like we need another Olympics to refresh your memory :p Ah, I'm not with the ANZACs, I know, but I just had to add that...
Is the kangaroo sign a warning to us pirates to avoid ANZAC road-kill next time we're cruising around Australia? Are you a protected species now? Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm looking forward to seeing all the new icons you put on parade :)
Avast, landlubbers! Give us yer gold and wenches, Else ye walk the plank!
That brings up the question of whether invasions (and defensive systems) should be worked out system-wide, or on a planet by planet basis.
Ah, Outpost 2... all the fun mind games you can play just by turning your head-lights on for a second... I loved the single-player campaign, too, cause it carried over your technology and population from one scenario to the next, but the the blight/lava really meant you couldn't sit around starving your opponent to death. One of my strongest memories from the sp game: I've got everything ready to go for the next mission, when an earthquake takes out one of my loaded ConVecs. No
Ah, Jackson's on George... I'm a fan of a decent pub crawl in the rocks, myself. Captain Cook Hotel's a great place to start, cause there's two of them, and half the people go to the wrong one. :) Orient's all-right, and Jackson's will definitely be open at the end of the crawl, so it's all good. In terms of "too pissed to remember" places... well, actually, I do remember Charlie Chan's down on George St. It was a real dump, but it had cheap booze and was open for ages. It was closed fo
I usually don't even bother with info nets except at one or two planets with all the research improvements - a lot of maintenance, for not much real benefit. By the time I research them, I don't need the extra research capacity anyway, cause setting research spending at 100% would send me bankrupt... And for things to scrap when you capture other planets - if the planet's secure and you're culturally dominant in the region, you can trash planet def, system def, and all the cultural resi
I think I've been there once or twice... you know the Shelbourne, just a bit further down on Sussex St? One of their floors had an 80s theme as well IIRC.
Of course, you guys can set up a Retro Room next time we throw a Galactic Peace Ball if you're keen to, um, revisit your younger days :)
Damn, I've unleashed a monster... I didn't want to write about the 70s, cause I'm too young to know anything about 70s fashion (besides what I've seen in cheesy 70s movies, that is). Those mental pictures aren't pretty. Thankfully, the goddess has removed that "spin around the sun" time-travel trick from our minds, so we won't have to go back to the 70s. Or the 80s. Ever.
Oh, I forgot to mention something - Cypher: mate, your photo is on every bottle of Bundaberg Rum sold here. And 1 out of every 10 bottles of spirits sold in Australia is a Bundy (if you believe their webpage). You've got TV ads, corporate sponsorship... you're more famous than all of us put together. The only competition you've got as a cultural icon is Fatso The Fat-Arsed Wombat - The Battler's Prince! :) [Message Edited]
