"Stardock should hold a poll for us to vote for our preferred scoring system. Each vote must be backed up by cold hard cash. SD will implement the new system based on the one with the highest cash votes." Oy! That's what I just said! You stole my idea! Impeach! IMPEACH! That's just the sort of dirty trick we'd expect from the "Score By Skill" party. You probably did that to get a Veteran tag in the first place! "ooh, mistur froggy sir, look at all these great ideas i invented" *cough* b

Every other decent game has easter eggs built in for Easter and Christmas. I just assumed I'd see a Drengin in a Santa Claus suit and a Torian with fluffy ears. You mean they're not built in already? Oh well, it's still a few months before Christmas. The devs have some time. Hehe, I'm just imagining someone take a bag of Altarian earlobes, chew on them for a while, then contact the Altarians - forgetting what they've got in their hands...
[quote]I suggested a "Save our Metaverse" fund some time ago. Maybe they should set up an electronic donation box on the site. :D [/quote] Yeah, but then it'll be the same as before, with people arguing over what exactly should happen... Now, if we set up different political parties with different views ("Skill Before All", "Score Us By The Hour", etc.), then people could vote with their wallets, and the devs could use the cash to do whatever the party with the most cash wants
Pfft, we survived ages without a webpage. It's not like we have to discuss anti-clan strategies map-by-map or anything. Sure, the webpage we've got now adds lots of character (cheers, kit!), but our character's alive and well right here in the forums. If you're really worried about the extra work, just get your details added to the GROSS page. It'll take two seconds, I promise. Trust me :HOT: [Message Edited]
Ah, I just get off the "what is anzac spirit" debate and see this... I've got a crate full of chill pills here on the Retox. Everyone's welcome to have one on the house :-) [edit: if people are gonna argue over posts from ages ago, I think it'd help to find the originals so people can see exactly what they're talking about. If everyone works from memory, this isn't going to be pretty...] [Message Edited]
These guys must be impostors. The real Illuminati would never have a public recruiting drive like this. Well, unless it's some twisted plot to see how much people know about the Illuminati... Maybe I shouldn't post this... aah! The mouse is moving to submit and I can't stop it! They're everywhere! DAMN YOU ILLUMINATI!!!! :-p
Pontius - wow, you sure write a lot of Mrs. Pax stories. Is there anything you'd like to share with the rest of us? :-p Cypher - Good choice. I hope those videos educated you on your duties as the Bundy bear. Just watch out for spilling drinks on that white fur, it's a b***h to get dry-cleaned. You could always turn Ashlyn into a teddy bear if you miss that look, you know. /quack looks at all the mrs. pax stories Hmm. Maybe not.
[quote]I stumbled upon this really old thang from CariElf. Laugh it up fuz ball! LOL [/quote] And people wonder whe she's got a fan-club :-p Damn, checking this thread just reminded me I've got to do something with my Seth Lewd story...
Test, one two, one two. Doh, it didn't work. Never mind :-) [Message Edited]
lol, couslee, I should've got you to help me with my "exploding hyper-bunnies from planet Duracell" story :-p
An Ace Up The Sleeve [cue the pulp fiction music] Worthington screamed as the teddy bear and the shark picked him up and activated the transporter. They marched through the pirate cruiser in perfect step, the teddy bear just with a stylish pair of sunglasses, and the shark with his sunnies and black tuxedo. The Toyota camel in the black suit had nothing on these guys. [The pulp fiction music dies down as they enter Quack's office] "Hey, Q, we've got a n
Hmm, brain-storming time... Sim turns - you might have a problem with people picking up information about hidden ships before they're supposed to. e.g. two players, A and B (move in that order), all their ships have move rate 4 and sensor range 4 A's ships are 1,2,3 B's ships are 4,5,6 a = limit of A's sensor range b = limit of B's sensor range (this is just one-dimensional for now) ..1...2..3..ba..4..5...6
We're working on Pleasure Bots, but we're having a few problems. Their edges are very sharp, for one... :SURPRISED: As for research bots - well, of course the good one looks good and the evil one looks evil, they're your news announcers! They have to fit in with your empire! That doesn't mean you should be attracted to the good one - or any one, for that matter. Their room's got a camera in it, ffs - you bloody perverts. Talk about getting it off in public places! I swear to God, if I
Master Plan For Success - Write a brilliant comic strip - Make it famous world-wide - Stick a "Based on the comic strip" sticker on GalCiv boxes. :-p Seriously, does anyone have some far-out ideas for new single-player gameplay modes (beyond just new scenarios)? The way I figure it, given that this is a SP game, some more ways to make it the best SP game ever could help sales a lot. [Message Edited]
The soon-to-be Mrs. Couslee runs into an old friend at the supermarket. "Oh, hi! Congrats on getting married! I've been trying to ring you for ages, but I can never get through." And so it begins... LOL Btw, if you want to try role-playing, and you like cussin like a sailor, perhaps you'd like to role-play a pirate? GROSS is the premiere pirate clan around, you know :)
/quack draws his cutlass ARRRR! There be one monopoly on smut, and it be mine! /quack pauses I might sell you the rights, but. :-p If we get some more mods submitted (and some good scenario-editing tools), it'd give them more selling power, something else to talk about, that's gotta be a good thing. (For the record, I'm thinking up a few random events, but they're all G-rated...) Actually... this is a single-player game, so what could be a good sellin
GROSS Public Statement: It has come to our attention that certain vicious rumours have surfaced, regarding a buildup of sperm pressure in several members of the GROSS crew, including the leader. These allegations are completely unfounded. Pontius has a lovely wife, and she puts out. We also have no need for MWC pleasure cruisers - we possess the finest supply of aphrodisiacs and erotica in the known metaverse. The most erotic thing you can find on an MWC cruiser is a donkey in overalls.
"and Quack... your not one to talk.... about bringing the ANZACS back... you came back then left again... sheesh.... I trusted you to bring your troups back safe.. but you deserted...." IIRC, the Anzac spirit also included something about a dislike of authority figures :-) Like I said, this is just a game, and no-one's got a monopoly on fighting spirit anyway. Besides, I'm not here to fight, what's fighting spirit got to do with it? I'm here to have fun. :CONGRAT: <b
Help! Help! I'm being repressed - by a baby, no less! Where's my Johnson's & Johnson's "No More Tears" Pepper Spray?!? Doh, Wombie took it to handle riot control at the daycare centre... noooo, please have mercy... --- lol, very nice jawsie! Wow, we've heard some real quality musical pieces from you... Jaws: The Musical Coming soon to a theatre near you :p
Turn that f'n bot off already!!!
I thought about a way to divide the spending ages ago, not by governors, but by what's in the build queues. No-one cared (:( (:( (:( Heh, oh well, I'll be interested to see if they do have per-governors sliders coming soon. I'm guessing if that happens, then the empire-wide sliders will just become "dumb sliders", that you only change indirectly through governor sliders.
Personally, I think ANZAC spirit is about mateship - keeping a calm head on the two-way firing range, and making sure all your mates come back in one piece. Sure, it can mean drawing a line and saying no-one will cross it, no matter the cost - but that depends on how critical the overall situation is. No offence, but this is just a game :-p lol, I'm just a weekend warrior - if you want some real ANZAC stories, go visit your local RSL :-) Oh, and the stories? Sure, write me
Cypher strolled into the Frisky Wombat Daycare Center, and saw all the children starting at him. Damn! They must be able to see through his disguise. They got up and ran towards him, and Cypher resigned himself to a few moments stuck with the kiddies. Then, he saw the viciousness in their eyes, and remembered - these were pirate children! It was too late to run, they were all over him... "Let's rip off his head!" the nastiest brat said. "I want an ear!" "Don't, we'll ge
The pirates were relieved to see no blue blood, but then noticed that there wasn't any blood at all. "What the - it's not Killa, it's a spam-bot!" The bot started counting "2001, 2002, 2003..." Another Killa Koala - the real one - stepped out from the shadows. "MUHAHAHA... my plan worked brilliantly! My spam-bot seized the day, and took the glory of 2000 faster than any human ever could! Bow down to my evil genius! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"
Just read through the last few pages - kudos to everyone who's studying the scoring system! Especially Cotal for that experiment - way to show 'em how smart Aussie ex-pats can be :-)
