I hpoe you've got some nice games brewing Sire. I don't want to be the only one bringing home the bacon ;)
Lord Orpon
I need answers! PLEEEASE!?! :sniff!:
Gott så, och välkommen tebaks! :CONGRAT:
What's this, another empire!? Why are you bouncing around the metaverse like this?
Now we have a realistic shot at third place! Let's go! :D
What do you mean Cotal? Is this some sort of prank?
Sorry 'bout the size of that, don't know how to fix it, it didn't look that way when I wrote...
Lord Orpon was sitting in his favourite lounge chair up at the bridge quietly sipping some tea... Sir, there's a large craft coming up ahead. What is it minion? It appears to be struggling... It has fur!? What!? It's a cat!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! The terrible wail left everbody stunned as the entire s
So much for the ANZACs eh :D . Why'd Cotal leave?
P.S. If anyone feels that this post is annoying, please don't hesitate to flame. Right here will be fine. D.S.
First off, I hope nobody's offended by my posting this in this forum. :notsure: After browsing the ANZAC thread I noticed that Rainbird claims to be heading off for some Civ3 gaming, this is fine by me although we'll miss her. However this got me thinking, how about a Civ3 challenge? We could have a PBEM game going with a participant from each of the major empires running parallel to the ongoing rivalry in the metaverse. If anyone's interested in this idea please reply to this thread w
Does anyone know when the money triggr kicks in? I just played huge for two hours and got ZERO mpts! After finding the minors i kept a constant cash surplus of between 20-25k. Could the trigger be 20k? P.S. I was playing on crippling D.S. >:(
My connection's been down for the past couple of days, but now I'm back! :CONGRAT: G-Force! I note that I'm the only euro admiral :HOT: , can you guys live with that?
Welcome back! If you've followed the forum debates you'll know that we euros will need all the help we can get if we're to catch up to the perfidious ANZACs :D
The great problem with this is the A.I., it can't plan ahead! If you give it this degree of control you lose oversight, when I play a game of galciv I don't remember every detail but I get a feel for where my planets are when I read the turn summaries. If the A.I.:s were to handle this then I would be making poor decisions based on to little information or have to go through the entire turns orders manually anyway. The effect of this would be the same as in all versions of galciv prior to expande

Using the economic reasoning of citahellion. You could think in terms of supply and demand, if there's 1 party palace x million people visit and then they go back home and tell their friends. However if there are 2 pp's then x+y million go there at the lower cost provided through competition. Some of the y's we're the ones that otherwise would have been only told by the x's, thus when they go home and tell THEIR friends the number of new friends told are less than in the first case. This is the
More members, good, good *he he he*
There's half a billion europeans, not counting the russians. There's something like 25-30 million ANZACs? Are they all busily slaving away posting scores for the metaverse? We have to be able to recruit more players into our empire, or at least activate the ones we have. :notsure:
I figured that I made too much money but then I happened to read in the ANZAC thread that you get penalized for frequent posting, could that be it? Using all available revenue seems the better choice, after all I can use the money more efficiently.
So the information was correct eh? Yes s-sir. The quivering minion was shaking in his boots, going through a minefield at topspeed was not his idea of fun. Lord Orpon, however, was calm. L O: This is excellent! (rubbing his hands toghether) Those daft kangaroo-kiwis will need weeks to figure out the bug in their system, and even when they do they'll have to pick apart their entire system just to find it. The money spend on that informant was the best investment we've made s
OK, I've got three questions for you: 1. What is the draginol event, and is there any way to increase the likelyhood that it will occur? 2. Why have my last two games on painful ended with 0 mpts? (I spent 5 hrs total :sniff!: ) 3. Has anyone ever used the new embargo function? (this is actually more of a poll)
We've made a million, huzzah! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: Now let's recruit some new members, any idea how?
The risk of losing PQ 1-2 would probably impair the human since only human players colonize PQ 13+, either we wouldn't colonize or we wouldn't investigate anomalies. Speaking of anomalies, the planetoid anomaly, the green chunk of rock, does it always spawn a monster? I've had a monster come out of it three times now, never anything else. >:(
The big point lies in AI performance, the more functions you pile into the game the lesser your AI gets, it can't handle more functions and juggle prioities like humans do (long term planning). The key is to think minimalistic, like you were designing a boardgame, few parameters but endless variations within the few.
