I think the concept of fleet and logistic points is a good one - and is consistent with the concept of the game. It would be a nice addition, particularly in defending planets. I think this would actually make the game more difficult, because while the AI is not good at managing starbases or attacking, it does often protect planets with a number of ships. This would correct the problem where a player's single frigate or capital ship will cut through a stack of AI ships to clear the wa

Blue Steel, The downside of playing evil is that you're almost always at war (and you never seem to get helped with a gift of ships). I find it hard to sustain trade routes and Alliance victory is not an easy option. If you get unlucky, fundamentalists take planets from you... I agree that playing evil makes the game easier in some respects, but having played good on occassion -- it actually seems balanced. And if you enjoy diplomacy, good is actually much easier. I'
