DROP BEAR ATTACK Cypher Pax was semi-concealed in the tree. That is he was as concealed as much as a 700 pound Bundy Bear can be in a medium sized tree. However, that was probably okay since Cypher was in Australia where zany things like Bundy Bears in trees are commonplace – and no one would pay him any mind. Cypher was having trouble getting motivated for this mission. He typically only dropped out of trees as a warm up. The Warp 5 Mass Driver Drop Bear attack was more his s

Duglis, I appreciate all the work you all others have put in. Contary to popular belief, the events have never affected my metaverse submissions or seemed unbalanced compared to the 'standard' events. In fact, adding the events has added a lot of variety to game. Here is my list of favorites (not in any particular order). 1. The Precursor Enounter 2. Atlantis 3. Vader (never actually seen in the game though) 4. Pyscho History 5. Navigators 6.

Actually, I had a game where I wanted to see the Tech Victory. I won the game with a military victory (last system flipped) about 5 turns before final frontier was researched. I got 11,300 K for the military victory, loaded the game and gave the AI their system back and would have gotten about 4,700 points for the tech victory. I was expected about a 30% difference in score... My economy, manufacturing, etc stayed approximately even... and it was only about 6 turns difference so pop s

Since I missed, I think it is fair to leave assasination to the Evil Empire. I also don't think we're in the slave trade. Perhaps, this is room for an evil empire to create more alien cusine... Okay, Go EVIL Empire! I'm either mellowed out, or I hit my head too hard on the drop bear attack.... I probably should take lessons, dark assasin. Cypher BTW: The list of items we owned was meant in jest. I was trying to set you up for a drop bear attack, whic

Cypher Pax felt bad about what he was doing. He liked Hairy the Taco's stories.. a lot. He might have liked Hairy, but Cypher was evil and he didn't really like anyone not in his empire or family. Cypher would have had other thoughts, but it was hard to have thoughts when plummeting down out of space at Warp 5. CyperPax had to assume the coordinates were correct because at this speed there would be no chance of making a correction. He could not see in any case since he had long sinc

A compromise might be to leave the metaverse (or just add a difficulty filter) and augment the medals - which are not that meaningful now. Perhaps, the medals could be the same (5 wins, 10 wins, 20 wins) but they change color or become more elaborate based on the difficulty of the games. I.E. - I win 5 games at beginner and I get a simple medal, then I win 5 games at normal and my medal becomes fancier (the alt tag would display the difficulty). For my first 5 / 10 / 20 games, I can g

For the record, GROSS owns exclusive rights to the following evil activities: 1. Piracy. 2. Assassination (acquired via ANZAC when Killa and Wombat defected) 3. Gambling (via the Quack) 4. Smuggling 5. Alien Cuisine and Tortue 6. Espionage 7. Dirty Tricks You're welcome to go to the metaverse and look at top players - evil if you don't believe me.... and these claims are well-backed up in our threads. As the Diet Coke of Evil, you're empire is welc

Obi Wan sat with Hurley, Wombat, and Killa in the Gazebo. They were enjoying Coronas with limes to toast the American Labor Day. Obi Wan suddenly sensed a disturbance in the force and leapt to his feet, lightsaber drawn. It was too late. He only had time to look up and see a hairy, white arse plummetting toward him. 'Looks like you have Cypher's vote for honarary Posse member' quipped Wombat. Cypher dusted Obi Wan off, passed around some Bundaburg Rum and left. He had t

Oh, welcome back Wombat! I'm glad you're still playing ... I see you managed to get two great normal games in today... that's pretty impressive speed by itself. A small map tends to take me 3-5 hours... and I never manage to break 10K on them. -Cypher [Message Edited]

Bakka is sending us coded messages. I've finally deciphered them.. something about being in the darkness of a ring wraith prison. Shall we go free him? Ashlyn shouldn't have all the fun, we should take the Wombat crew on our mission. No one in the fellowship would suspect a tour group of Australian fauna. Thoughts? ~SDC~

I am trying to stay out of this, because I think EBZ strategy is brillant from a game theory perspective and I appreciate his willingnes to share, but I also respect Brad and Stardock for delivering more with Gal Civ than I ever expected. Stardock listens to us... in many cases they give us what we want. In some cases they don't, and we act like it's the end of the world. In this case, EBZ is being punished... but this is not unprecented. Staffa and Ray were punished similarly for do

Ray, I wrote about you as in the GROSS thread (Staffa's retirement party story)- you probably didn't see it. The next morning, Staffa was back and had reclaimed #1 (I think he was in third at the time). Now your long, impressive history (especially of maso games) makes you look unbeatable... - Cypher ~SDC~

Ray, Between your unbelievable score and your new Diplomat ranking, perhaps you should change your nick to Ray - Lord of the Rings. ;) Congrats. I have wanted to congratulate you on your score for a while, but I didn't want to jinx you again. Now, you're so far ahead I don't think I could. I have poked fun at the Fellowship in the GROSS threads, but I do so as a friendly rival. I think the Fellowship is pretty cool... Cheers, Cypher ~SDC~

Quack! Quack! Quack! Shouldn't have been reading this at work... was supposed to be preparing for a code review. Developer came over to make sure I wasn't laughing at his work. (I have been know to do that on occassion.) I can't wait to see what comes next for / from the POSSE, like JAWS I'm just in awe. Clearly not worthy of having the Quack and Killa for siblings... ~SDC~
