Search button and residual moves in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Hello. You know that Search button, I always assumed it would find ships (and anything that moves thats on your team) that have moves left to execute in the current turn. If theres no moves left to be made then you get that little 'drrrr' sound. Well it's BS or at least I am mistaked about its purpose. I can't count the times I've found Antimatter missiles, Combat Transports and a whole variety of ships and scouts on the map with moves yet to be made (even at a turns end and be

Hi everyone! I think I found a glitch! A new tactic to avoid confrontation for those pacifists amongst us. Good suggestions! Also if your a tech junkie you can choose ability bonuses from the outset and an appropreate form of default government (I forget which) . . Oh yes also Scouts and Rangers can find +25% bonus to whatever your researching in an annomaly. For long techs like Dreds Avatars etc thats just pennies from heaven! :) [Message Edited]

The Excalibur is an absolute BeAsT and 17/17 (plus other bonuses) for movement/turn on a Large map makes you feel like your playing on small! Actually come to think of it I've never teched right through to and built Excaliburs on small (or better still tiny). That would be hilarious . . . I got the fright of my life in my recent game when I saw the Dregens had them too (Excaliburs 680 attack!). Mabye I over reacted a bit building over a hundered antimatter missiles in very quick time. Interesting! What about ships? I finished building an Avatar and pummeled its races original creator with it to oblivion, that was fun! Unfortunately I couldn't build anymore since I didn't have the tech (I was still researching Dreds!) I feel that if you capture a planet and complete the construction of an advanced alien vessel you should get that tech or mabye a research bonus when you get around to it :notsure: .

I'm still using 1.05 and I've never been brave enough to install a mod even though they look great! I'd really like a mod that adds some more interesting sound effects (like laughter for unsucessful planetary invasion by propoganda!) but I digress . . . LOL

Firewall, AV, GRC ? What are these things? Trojans really exist? But seriously, thanks for the link. We've run a number of sweeps including Trojan Hunter, Pest Patrol, Ad-aware, Spy-bot killer and a few others that I can't remember . . . Hello! I've had something really wierd happen to me the last few times I've played GC. The sliders in the screens are moving around by themselves! Sometimes quickly, sometimes slow! Thanks folks for all the advice! IT WORKED! I finally cracked 10k and its all your fault! I am a very happy Cotal :D . Giving the minors (with 'whom' I traded) an extra planet behind enemy lines saved me a lot of fiscal head aches mid-game! An excellent suggestion Blue. I hadn't research up to 'Beyond Human' for so long I forgot how much tech I missed out on, thanks for reminding me Ray, I checked 149 techs completed this time and only 73 last time . . . a big difference.

I guess I do go after Avatars a bit blindly (I do miss alot of Industrial stuff on the way (i.e. my Space stations mining only has about 4 or mayby 6 slots mid to end game) . . . I might try Painful again too . . . can't hurt (no pun intended hehe). LOL

OK . . . tried some of those tips listed above, used a larger map, higher difficulty level, traded exclusively with the minors, researched up to Omega Power Stations/Teraforming etc, Remained the dominant millitary force throughout most of the game, owned just about all of the reseach commodities, had over 50% influence and population befor I nerfed the other civilizations. What more can I do? I mean . . . I'm at a loss to see where I'm going wrong score-wise? I guess I'm really asking

Mr Adrian I think in part the titles depend on when a member joined (i.e. registered) as far as the vet-trany-arian title goes. The other titles I always assumed were held for Stardock admin' and ancillary staff. But now that I look at how many intermediate levels there are between titles (diplomat etc) I wonder if that's the case? What part of the UK are you originaly from ? Wellington? aka like the Greatest English general? Your scoring is phenomenal! And my spelling is atrocious! <br
