I have heard somewhere that evil opponents (highest Intelligence) are worth more points. More population at the end also increases the amount of points. Just look at the summary at the games end to see where you can earn more points. Alternatively get AP as it is easier to score points.

I cant think of many other games that I have played so many times.I think the continual updating of the game via stardock is a huge bonus. This, along with the competition on the metaverse, has maintained my interest. I still buy retail as I am on dialup :( although I would purchase games straight from the company if they would mail it out to Oz (as per AP expansion). I have an XBox as well but only every use that for multiplayer Co-op games.
With an morality of 22, it comes up with string not found instead of a degree of evilness. I too have found there are less random events than earlier games. (@ ver .002)
just like moo2, i like that idea. it would be great it each species had their own str/weakness as well.
I have no problems submitting AP games (except those due to change of email address). Do you have none selected under custom rules? My settings for the front page are: custom rules set to none minors on Alliance victory only You could try emailing one of the stardock team to see if they can help you out.
Have you tried submitting with 1.20 or just with AP? When I upgraded to AP I initially had problems due to differing email addresses and log in names. Have you made any changes in this area?
I downloaded the 1.2 patch at the end of Mar and had no problems. I then used stardock to update it. I did have a problem with one of the AP beta downloads (#define HTTP_ERROR_READFILE -8) but that has ceased with the next upgrade.
a MOM sequel would rock :)
Should you get feedback when submitting a game? The last two I have tried to submit nothing happens and it loads back to the main menu. I am using AP1.49M.
It seems to me that the only way to win is for me to print one of the strategy guides, and start following it like a recipe book - not really what I want out of my computer games! Maybe I'll just tuck tail and wander back down to crippling level...
dont despair, jeffery my firt maso was courtesy of a PQ 26 planet in my starting sector it was in a rare universe which added to the bonus from that i have managed to formulate a few different tactics for win
I have found the Torians will sometimes take you out if you being done over by an evil empire. This seems to depend on your military strength. I have also had the term "we're better deal with you now" from both good races when I have been of good alignment. :( [Message Edited] [Message Edited]
I downloaded the beta no problems. The game works fine. The only problem I had was I changed my email address for AP (due to spam reasons) and it took me ages to figure out how to update my profile to the new email address. Done now, so all is good. :)
i have started the campaign and played a couple of scenarios as well as two normal games. the scenarios make for some interesting game play. i have had one CTD from 6 games so far so i cant complain about them.
nope but the download was only 20M (from version 1.2 update) it took about 45 minutes on 56k dialup
Greetings Yanu, welcome to the metaverse. :D If you need help with anthing all you need to do is ask and some one is bound to answer. Many Empires also have their own website for likeminded people. :HOT:
Well it's been a few days since I posted the moo3 debate, and after playing Moo3 first hand , I can see why GalCiv is the better game. Well has anyone had the bug that the game keeps asking for disc2 even thou it is in the drive? Well that's been happening to me and it's due to the new patch. I'm glad that stardock is constantily updating the game and giving us a relativly bug free game. On a side note I think I found a game more complex then Moo3, anyone seen Space Empires 4 gold?[/quote
Have they added Adelaide onto the map yet Blueroach? They don't usually bother with villages on most maps Hehehe
You are preaching to the converted, I just moved here. It's a nice enough place to live though.
Glad to hear you are not having any problems. Ive got the following system: AMD Athlon 64 3200 128mb video 9600XT Gigabyte GA-K8NNXP 1024Mb DDR SDRAM with 400MHZ, CL2, Samsung 80Gig 8MB 7200RPM SATA HDD I have ordered the 64 bit Windows CD from MS and it is in the mail. Been two weeks now but I guess it may take a while to get to Aust, let alone Adelaide (:( I will let you know how it goes, fingers crossed.

A fully bombed up starbase on defence will stop anything upto an overlord (barring huge military bonuses). I tend to only do the 5 point basic defence and rely on my ships to defend them. The die human event can take out a lot of starbases if you are not prepared, plus it can wreak havoc with your trading. (:(
elkabong--Other than finding a way to reload an old version, perhaps you would find some fun in learning more about the game through a succession game?I am close to starting a new one up with a "training-day" theme. I am by no means the best player around these parts, but there are a few of us who know our way around here that will be a part of the game. If you are not familiar with succession games, take a look here: Link
I would recommend you having a look at a success
Why dont you just play without the upgrades? Many people are still only on 1.12. I dont mind the starbase tax myself as I tend to generate enough money through research and diplomacy for a few hear and there.
Just seen the other post. [Message Edited]
Has anyone else had a space shark attack a planet? It has only happened to me once and it killed off some population. >:(
I am almost the same as Black Shade above except I get the Technologist Party and research instead of morale. I hate being behind in Tech.
