microsoft plus is a series of small programs, not something that runs continuously. i don't see how it could cause a conflict unless you had a problem with one thing in particular.

thats great if people know how and have a program to convert the walls.. otherwise, well..they're in trouble havnt seen comments so far on 'i cant use this wallpaper' though so i guess everybody's mahcines are a little more evolved <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="

"If you were plowing a field, which would you rather use? Two strong oxen or 1024 chickens?" - Seymour Cray (1925-1996), father of supercomputing "#3 pencils and quadrille pads." - Seymoure Cray (1925-1996) when asked what CAD tools he used to design the Cray I supercomputer; he also recommended using the back side of the pages so that the grid lines were not so dominant. "Interesting - I use a Mac to help me design the next Cray." - Seymoure Cray (1925-1996
i got ya kona, fishing for more opinions tho. stumpy: you underestimate my friend. he is the most harsh of critics, and he knows design theory very well. in many ways he is a mentor to me. by 'very interesting remarks', i can elaborate in short: we discussed what i was going for versus the traditionally more important issues of web design: heiarchy, placement of the navigation, ease of viewing, flexability. in all ways i went against the grain. so traditionally it would fail. however it
i prefer jpeg files over bmps because even at max quality (and likewise less compression), most jpegs are still smaller then bmps. however something to consider is that win98 users must be in 'active desktop mode' to view jpg wallpapers.. and active desktop isn't exactly the most stable or fastest feature in win98. for that reason alone, i would suggest using BMPs. its simply more compatable.
yeah, well. why not. tell me what you think, guys and gals. i got some very interesting remarks from my best bud who is a designer. overall.. he felt for going so against traditions, it worked well. layers are my beeeeest friiiiends. http://www.mverzella.com
indeed, that would probobly go off really well
sput, office XP SP1 i think. www.microsoft.com/office . should find all the info there. i just noticed it one day when they ped office on my computer.. suddenly, pdf toolbar and options. i still use Acrobat - but for just office stuff the microsoft utility should be a nice bonus.
its..weird.. in here tonight..
i agree with sput except.. the menu doesnt bother me. it could be better located, maybe, but its not lost. a different color or switch tiwh the logo? as for fixing your text style, this is not bad at all. it depends who your audience is. if you market to everyone, you want text to be flexible but remember the design must be able to compensate for people jacking the size up. sometimes you WANT the design to not flex, especially when trying to show keen layout or type bells and whistles.
microaoft has their own pdf ability/format through Office. you can create directly from word, excel, or whatever. still, cost$
*shrugs* hmm. emoticon fatal exception. [Message Edited]
me DC. me hungry. oog.
naturally, jafo. i agree i about the thread names should be clearer, absolutely, as well. no, sig. i don't take offense to disagreement...only to comments written for the sole purpose of being insulting. edit: nor did i specify that i was, in fact, flamed. [Message Edited]
you sent me your recent skin, fishing for an opinion. i would think you do have me in your contacts 'Mick', as my alias is. hehe.. i hope you didnt think i was two different people or i suppose you're not gonna talk to me anymore. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
again, 'not bloody likely' . besides, images only add document size. an entire novel is still very small in terms of plain text, images not only give strain on the eyes while reading a lot of text but take up much needed realestate. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="
Escher drawings. OOOO yeah.
oh - by the elitist comment, yes - i believe that anyone who feels so superior over someone else that they are compelled to ridicule them publicly is an elitist. no one was born a skinning god. people need guidence. myself and many others make jokes about some requests but i know i do my best to show i am joking. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered
wow this thread got padded since i checked it oh 12 hours ago. i see here a lot of pros, cons, and good ideas. but despite the other sections that could be used for discussion, the fact remains that they simply arn't. i use this analogy: if enough people are missing the exit on a highway, the architects must realize that the road is poorly signed or laid out. it cant be that a thousand people in the morning rush are just stupid. i too skip over the stickies because they are, so it's sai
