Well, when I submitted my score, the site itself was down (I tried to see where I was after I submitted). Maybe it just screwed me. Or I got very little for my last game, despite it being a 42000 game. I'll have to pay more attention from now on. And yeah, as people start cranking out games, I'll fall more and more, since I just can't crank.

Not sure if this one was addressed already, but it seems that when a starbase is disbanded, the game still thinks its there as far as where you can build starbases. ie, I am getting the error about not being able to build a stabase within 3 parsecs despite the fact that the starbase in the area had been destroyed.

That sounds about like what I've seen in my games. Every once in a while I have the Drengins take off and dominate, but that's only if they manage to win a bunch of early wars. Yor NEVER do anything. Torian influence seems to be scary strong. Arcean inflence starts strong, so it kind of sucks if you start right next to them, but if they start far away, it'll fade away soon enough.

In my maso games, I'd say that 90% of the time, the Torians are kicking everyone else's butts. What makes them so special that the other AIs can't keep up? I try to keep the other AI's in competition by gifting them all of my tech, etc, but the Torians always wipe them all away, leaving a big fight against myself and them for the end game. It would be nice to have a little bit of variety every once in a while... Does anyone else see this?

I always park my constructors next to any resource I find, because given time the AI will always fight with each other, and then I can get almost all the resources. If I'm very impatient, I might bribe them to fight, but I usually just let them hate eachother naturally. :) Mayito, sorry if it sounded like I was attacking you, but I was getting kind of sick of people saying nobody else was playing in the MWC, and all the flipping empire hopping has gotten on my last nerve. Thankfully,

I'd also like to point out that some of us might only submit a game a week, but we're still above you (Mayito) in the standings. Sometimes quantity doesn't mean quality. That's not to insult players who can't play on maso--more power to you if you want to play 10 games a day, but some of us don't NEED to submit that many games to keep ourselves with respectable ratintgs. Just because some us submit fewer games does not mean we aren't contributing meaningfully to the empire. I'm sorry, but I

I was actually referring to Kryo ditching us, not you. And, I don't know why you say you and Kyro were the only ones submitting games. I don't think I've ever gone a week where I didn't submit at least one game. And if that were true, we would have plummeted way far down when you both left, wouldn't we? I see you aren't flying solo any more... That didn't last long, did it?

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what they did to beef up the AI. It seems you can also do whatever you want to them if your military is significantly higher than theirs. Once I get to that state, I start planting party palaces directly in their sectors, and I guess they're too scared to say anything about it. One thing that annoys me is when they take a planet in one of my sectors (say from a minor), then get all miffed about the cultural starbase you have there--that's already be

I find the good techs far outweigh the evil benefits in the long run. I tend to play evil on the tiny maps where those starting options on planets really help, but if I'm playing a larger map size, I generally play good becuase the good techs help me more in the end.

Yeah, I'm a big tech trader. The second I get a new tech, I try to whore it around to everyone else, then rinse and repeat with anything I got that others didn't get. Sometimes one new tech can turn into 20 or more techs in trade! I just don't know if I would have the patience to play a larger map size. I get impatient enough on the small and medium maps. My last game I got too bored to culture flip and the Torians were too strong militarily, so I just settled for the alliance vic

I do the same thing. I like to keep the AIs level in techs as much as I can. There's often one AI way far ahead of the rest of us, and I don't want that AI to just stomp over everyone else, so I'm pretty liberal in trading with the other AIs. So, on maso, I generally just take all their IP when gifting them techs, and I rarely lose the UP vote that way.
