(audience yells in unison) "HOW EXPENSIVE ARE THEY???????" LOL LOL seriously, what IS the monthly cost, and just how many construstors does it take to build a bare bones one? (haven't built one yet, never got that far)
Fast moving terror star might unbalance the game a bit. I think it would be cool if you could "disassemble" the terror star, move the separate pieces fairly quickly and the rebuild it in it's new location. It would be kind of a futuristic seige weapon.
Six of one, half a dozen of the other. No difference between a fast moving completed ship, and a fast moving assembly package. One just has more micromanagement. Or, they could be designed fast but fairly
Since wonders are not capturable or tradeable, building them first is more important.
Are trade goods capturable?
it is what it is. Trying a large 5x maso game, and i gotta say, I am not really enjoying it very much. I am not that far into the game, and if the AI can be this far ahead of me now, I don't see how there is much hope. I got a good start, have met 3 majors and two minors. One of the minors was kind enough to send a freighter my way, but the majors didn't waste much time declaring war. I am just now rolling ut a couple of fighters, only to be met with a number of corvettes f
Congrats Mrs, you have just given birth to a brand new baby data dump.
Any other ACOLers over here?
Not that I know of.
Indeed. One and the same. The guy who first concieved the CMN and the first challange. You know, the one that Jeff Morris refused to acknowledge and participate in. (Aredran was the CMN). :D such memories. lol. I still post occasionally on acol. my MoO3 thread in other games is kinda funny. Was all excited and ended up feeling like I burped a fart. LOL Care to switch over to the Viraxian Ascendency? Could be like ACOL of old. :D
Now see, with trade SBs, I read it differently. I try to build them opposite of the originating planet. meaning, if I build the freighter, my trade SB will get the best return in the sector owned by the AI where I send it to. If the AI is sending you freighters, then you want to build them in you sector that is recieving them. At least that was the impression of how best to place the initial ones. of course, you have to apply some logic here, if the AI planet is right on the
In 1.05 at least, Autopilot ships move After you press the turn button
1.05 IS what I use, and auto-pilot ships will move before you hit end turn. The setting I use are: Auto Turn: Off End Turn Skips Moves Left: Off If choosing something other than these setting will cause you to lose a colonization race for a specific planet with the AI, then why use any other setting? I can see how you could lose one, have 1 turn remaining on your auto
BTW Couslee I liked your opening scenario for your new empire.I'm still deciding which to join.It seems everyone has recruiting wars going on.
Thanks. I have caught some grief for not joining in on all the recruitment spaming. I wanted to see if the story line itself had enough pull factor all on it's own. Would be glad to have you, should you decide to join. Not saying that if you do join, you can't try and recruit. LOL And don't feel bad, I only ha
1> Will it work with other units fleeted with a survey ship? I don't see why not, I doubt there is coding in place to allow it with one alt ship and not others. I want to try sending a massive fleet through one. Will check that out my next game. Imagine sending your Hero, 2 or 3 colony ships, and 2 or 3 full transports and a couple of scouts and fighters in there for good measure, through a wormhole.. Mwahahaha2> If only peeking, what is the area of exposure based on?In my test, I fleeted
It gives you a chance to complete your research before it was supposed to. So even if it shows 3 turns you may get it the next turn if you are creative.
I have seen this, and I use 1.05. When it does happen, most often it is when there is still "1 turn" remaining (not next turn). The best event, was when I got one that had "3 turns" to go (iirc, it caught me off guard). This is fine imo. It only costs one point, and if it worked for "14 turns remaining", it wo
Fine, then put a little stop light indicator on the screen. The difference between the green and yellow of a stop light are a lot different than the slight tone changes between in-game yellow/green colors. I am not the only one who has complained about this (I see it on every board of every game I have ever played that uses this combo). With the "norm" of the industry turning towards moddable games, would be nice if they put a color palate edit option for those players that do
Your developed planets (which already have the first few buildings)will build soil enhancement once they finish whatever building they're working on
Not from what I have seen. If I add a new item to the top of the build queue, it changes all the planets build queues to get that new itme done like it is a priority. Once completed, it resumes what it was building before (and since accumulated production is not lost per building, no big deal.) Note: The planet lis
I blanket trade the lot of them. One tech at a time, and at the most tedious methods (color blind....why oh why do they use that green/yellow combo). But, There are some techs I won't trade to them. I won't sell them anything that boosts diplomacy, or allows them to build state of the art ships. If they want techs that increase weapon or defense points, they are on their own. All the 'give nothing" pre-req techs, and the techs that give social build queue improvements are up for sale. I wi
Yeah, but the charities can't spend any of their money on battle fleets and infantry units, can they? IIRC, the trade center gives a +15 bonus to lots of things - morale, research, production, economy, and probably a couple others I've forgotten. With no upkeep fee, either.
Well, that would depend on your POV. Take Trinity Broadcasting Network for example. They take in millions(multi even) in donations. They spend it on TV stations (battle fleets) and missionaries (inf
Not from what I have seen. My auto-pilot moves happen after the ship with movement moves. Then I have to manually hit the end turn button. There is a setting that allows this. But I think the ship movement order would be the same no matter which option you chose.
The General sits in his easy chair admiring his two new medals. Wilst pondering the previous tiny galaxy he just conquered. "I need bigger scores" he thinks.
Thats what it was BlueSteel. Thx. It changed to "starchat/random server" when I registered.
I am sure it is. But either my MIRC got hosed when I registered, or I have bad ruck when it comes to going in the room when other are there. In #GalCiv right now, and no other names showing.
Geez, I hope this is only a coincidence. Ever since I purchased and registered MIRC(few days ago), I have never seen anyone in the chat room (not even bots). /join #GalCiv.......nothing. /join #stardock.....nothing.
Have not had a game go long enough to build a "good" trade center, but I doubt it's benefits are worth all the eternal* negative hits you have to take to get there. Sure, you may get a few extra BC in trades (not sure tho), but compare those few extra BC to the extra BC you get when you have a +50 evil production bonus event (*that lasts the whole game), and that is only looking at a single planet event. When you start tallying up all the events needed to reach either goal, the slant is obviou
That is my point Chronus. GalCiv is NOT a simultaneous turn game (Space Empires IV is, if you want an example of how it works when it programmed that way). If it was as he stated, then you would select where your ships would move to when you hit end turn (along with a number of other things). If that were the case, then my "completed next turn" ships would appear on the screen as soon as i hit end turn. They do not. They appear on the map at the begining of my next turn. Which means the AI
Player one submits 1 Maso, and 99 cakewalk games, and has a decent score. Player two submits 20 Maso games. Player two wants to see how he did against the other maso players, sorts by difficulty, and sees player one 3 slots above his name. Any level sorting filter would have to readjust player ranking based only on games submitted in that catagory. I think that might be a bit harder than just adding a new filter.
When doing any trading if the writting is in green then they'll accept the trade.. so I just up everything as high as i can.. till it changes to yellow writting then take it back a notch till the writting turns green again
That is what I was looking for in the tidbits thread. It also brings up the old PITA. WHY for the love GOD do game developers ALWAYS use that &^^%#&$*)^!!!!!!! green/yellow combo? With my color blindness I can NOT tell when it green, or yello
