I know the initial 5% reduction is a low number. But I chose that so that people that are stuck on a lower than maso level will be encouraged to keep trying harder, without being penalized too much. And as you said, if someone can't stay on the curve after that many games, learn to duck. Good point about ppl that submit maso scores. I would suggest that anyone who can play that many maso games deserves to be at the top. I would exclude maso games from the reduction. Altern
First off, I'd like to say that I fully respect the opinions of all who disagree with me. I enjoy a good healthy debate on these subjects, and I hope that those who disagree with me feel the same.
Ditto
I have a lot of games, too, that I cannot resubmit because I didn't know any better when I first started. So we both have a number of games under old scoring system. I have 10 of these. You have 4. Sounds pretty fair to me.
What I was sayin

Oh yeah, the benefits are obvious. Esp if you start out with a worm hole close to your two initial ships. You think I have had that chance yet? pftttt. Hoping some of the more veteran players might also mention some short tidbits. (easiest way to find out how much the AI will pay for a tech, ect..) here is another: When exploring, use a diagonal track, with a diagonal backtrack to get the most exploration done (read: tack your ships).
By resubmitting scores, I am only getting the scores that the architects of the game feel I should have gotten in the first place. This is not cheese. It may seem unfair to some who did not plan ahead, I'm sorry, but what does their lack of planning have to do with me? As stated earlier this was done before. No one should be claiming surprise.
First off, if it is a score the architects feel you should have, then they should (and probably will) adjust the current Metaverse

Things that make you go hmmmm, and things that go "DuH" in the night. Even the player that has played the game the longest might find new things they like. this might help others enjoy the game (or interface) more. 1> Clicking on the non-obvious bar between the slider arrows on the planet list reverses the order (longest time to completion VS shortest time to completion, at the top of the list). 2> Wanna use that worm hole to check out an area without sending your Hero half w
.....+45PQ choice will certainly knock it down by 10 points (which is the max for any one event choice).
From what I have seen, 10 is the max for evil choices and 5 is the max for good choices. I don't think I have yet to see a good colonization event give a +10.

Which is a prime example why things currently under tweaking should not be counted. Hi Mitch, Jonh here reporting at the first Galatic olympics. There is a large crowd near the gates protesting the new pole vault event. They feel the that having the bar continously move up and down while the athlete is running towrds the pole pocket is unfair and in no way a good judge of skill. "If they time it right, they don't even need a pole" one ofthe signs read. However security has the area

First 20 games at any given level scores 100% of the metaverse amount. the 21st-30th get 95%. The 31st-40th get 90%, ect.. Tweak the range or percentage for balance. Games past the 90 day (or whatever it is) degradation cycle are not considered in the calculations. Could even reward new players by giving the very first 10 games 110% of the score (would not reset due to score degradation time limits) Two ways to approach the condrum. 1. rewards the person for playing at max abil

But this is still another beta. And it appears you have to have a drengin account to get it. This is in slight contrast to what I have read. Is it going to be just the final X-pack that is provided at no charge? Plz explain. Also, I think anyone re-submitting old scores just for a point boost is, TRUE cheeze. Esp when there are players out there stuck with 1.05. And why are Beta scores considered anyflappinway (at a different scoring level)? level the boat until the field gets lev

That was certainly an interesting last game. 19 systems, 24 planets. Small/Challanging. Talk about momentum. About mid game I did run into a little financial situation, but was easilyrectified with some intelligent trading with the two minors. Had to use a tidal wave invasion on the Drengin home system, other than that it was all fist-to-cuff. I only used one build queue, and everything possible was on it. Got all the trade goods and wonders. There were techs the AI did get first

Gotcha. I can see where a mod would have a pull factor. I don't use them myself, nor would I be comfortable with mods in the empire. But I figure don't ask, don't tell LOL. I am military aligned. Was not questioning your recruitment efforts. I pitch mine here and there, but I don't even have five games in yet, so not pushing it. Besides, I kinda wanted to see if the story line would bring in any on it's own merit. [Message Edited]
actually I was going to join yours before I joined Illuminati.
makes me curious what made you decide against mine (the positive VS negative list for each) Wonder what a Gallup Poll would cost to run on all the empire members. lol

So you take a 2k hit on each of your scores to be able to submit many times more games. (one of the things I noticed about the GCCG is minimal micro management). I understand that a zero is worse than none, but in light of the benefits it don't seem like much. Odd POV considering I am a perfectionist. lol

Almost hate to ask this. Does the scoring take into account the differences within each level? For example, my current game has all the AIs set at normal, except the Yor set at intelligent. I have a difficult game. Which is probably easier than setting all the AIs to bright, which also is a difficult game.

FOOD FIGHT!! BYOC (bring your own cheeze) Am a bit unclear about something. Does one anomolous score hose your entire Metaverse ranking? Or is it just one game that don't get counted? Because if your able to use any given tactic to submit a game a day, and only 20 out of 30 get reported for the month, then your still better off with your 20 counters than the poor sap who is lucky to get in one a week. I don't understand why all the concern with an anomolous game (or 10 of th
