Since you're getting BSODs, chances are this is NOT a beta bug, but something wrong with your hardware or drivers. Specifically, since the STOP messages seem to be changing at random, I'd bet it's an issue with bad RAM.

I can't seem to find any pattern here, but occasionally when I click on an item in the diplomacy screen the game simply crashes. (Windows shows the error report nonsense, game closes, etc.). My debug.err follows, but judging from its content I'm not sure how helpful it will be. Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA-3A last updated on: Mon Apr 10 17:03:06 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. Debug Message: *
Dude, MoO2 is TEN YEARS OLD. Being superior to a ten year old game is hardly worth gushing over. Ehhhh. I have not seen an FPS exceed Tribes' coolness, and that came out in '98. I've seen a couple come close to matching it, but that's all. And yeah, tactical combat is an old, dead horse by now.</
Stardock support themselves are likely the only ones capable of diagnosing this, if it's at all possible.
If you really want to go all out diagnosing it, try the following semi-typical procedure: 1) Disable all background applications, especially firewall and antivirus software. This is especially important if you're running Norton or some other crapware 2) Disable sound acceleration through dxdiag 3) Uninstallation of any codec packs 4) Reinstallation/updating/replacing of any codec packs 5) Check the BIOS after the crashes to see
This thread is insane. I will therefore post in it.
Debug Message: Error flipping back buffer to primary buffer. Debug Message: Device lost Oh, that sounds good... In any case, you're on an old version. You need a serial number to download the latest ones (ie. have purchased the game). Try the demo?
Now, did you take the odd route and drag "Tactical View Zoom Level" (in the interface options) to the max? Do you have the latest ATI drivers? Have you eaten any bad soup lately?
It's always been a scoreboard. There was talk of putting in a play-by-email sort of dealy with an expansion pack that would be integrated into the Metaverse, but I've heard nothing about it since then.
A lot of the bug reports right now are also of the beta version, which ironically fixes a fair chunk of the old reported bugs (and introduces only a few new ones). Most bugs are minor and hard to notice, though there have been a couple oddly obvious ones. Most technical errors with the game are occuring because people either don't properly ventilate their computers for the hot hardware they have within, or don't properly update their hardwar
You're making as little sense as is humanly possible. Are you sure you aren't entering your collector's edition content serial number in the box? (Assuming you have one). How have you even updated the game without a working serial number? Or have you updated? Modding is easy as pie. Most of the files are easy to read XML files. It's far easier than other games, but it's also far less flexible.
But I don't have the earlobes for politics. Seriously, have you ever noticed the size of the earlobes on most politicians? I don't know why...maybe it's just one of the side effects of old age, like liver spots or something... but I suspect some sort of massive alien conspiracy. Strange but true. Hmm
7). Really odd map generation. Could just be the 4 games I've played since downloading Beta4, but it seems like planet specials are much much much more abundant. I just started a game, and each planet so far seems to have one. One planet has a 700% manufacturing, on a 300% research and 100% entertainment, and ano
Fritz my friend, you are beyond verbose . You'd get an A+ in a marketing or business course though, so keep the trying to make the minimum of points with a maximum of words.
Eh, I'd gloss over this one as well (though I don't buy game magazines because they read as adverts as a whole). It's kind of nice, though.
If they're minors, they won't flip. If they're Yor, they likely won't flip. If they're Thalan, it'll be a little harder to flip them. And if they have propaganda centers or whatnot, they'll be harder to flip.
I wouldn't merely stand around and let someone do this, I would act, even if it cost me the game (for a time). I hate scam artists.
150bc per turn without max production is interesting, but it could be due to insane numbers of factories/labs or bonus tiles. I had a planet with a 500% and a 300% factory bonus tile, and a manufacturing capital, and I nearly bankrupt myself trying to build a ship with it the first time. That was more mid-game though.
The evil and good specific wonders are crazy.
Judging from some of the dev's previous comments on late-game slowness, it's probably because of the ever-increasing number of ship designs. Both your own and the AI's.
The wiki should be improved in some fields. There is only definitions about loyalty, courage and soldiering, but how game is affected from loyalty is not yet explained.Courage and soldiering effects on advantage factor also aren't yet explained. Please explain these on wiki at least we have some informations about these abilities.<
I buy up colony ships (never on lease), and build factories to start planets off. Everything else simply depends on the situation, and my mood.
It's easy to mod in, just crank up the logistics abilities in the race configs or increase the bonuses yielded by logistics reasearch (also in some XML file). My question: why? It's not so much gameplay changing as it is aesthetic, or maybe useful for "role playing". In the end the game will just be chugging along, which I would suspect would take the fun out of watching fleet battles anyways.
I had something here.
This is why I bought this game, Stardock's support is always great. I personally like tech trading! Don't get rid of it! Maybe just an option so that you can opt not to have it in game. It does say "Option"...
