You might want to put "Resolved" or something like that in the title of your thread just to make sure people know that you solved it yourself. You can edit titles on this forum? Well I'll be.
Consumed Crustacean
Are you allowed to demolish a capital? If you can, then you do so, then build a new capital. You would have a "Transition period", of not having a capital however. Nope. Can't demolish special buildings.
I just installed the latest patch, which I was holding off on until I finished my last game. Unfortunately, the game now looks like this: Anyone? Edit: My resolution, as you can see, is pretty low. This is because I already tried to wipe the preferences (and the whole My Game
The devs have stated that there are problems with integrated Intel chips, namely because they're terrific at not doing 3d well.
I've played your Homeworld 2 mod. It's pretty entertaining, if not video card slaughtering. Good luck on this new project here.
Big chunk of the fun in the game is the complete randomness, and having to overcome problems like this...
What are you talking about? It's a turn-based strategy game, it's supposed to be long and boring. That's the appeal. In any case: try starting with a race that has technology and economy bonuses (and spend your ability points on those). Also, trade techs with the other civs, especially the minor ones.
Some people are bashing a game, that despite being in the star wars franchise they simply havnt played, yes it cashes in on star wars, yes its not perfect, but its a far cry from anything like force commander (simply a terrible cash in). Its not hard to see why its being perceived this way because there have been a lot of bad sta
This bug has been pointed out in a couple threads. 'tis bizzare.
Wouldn't that be fun when the AI sicks it on you? (Hint: not so much so)
Standard diagnostic list to start things off, since we have absolutely nothing to work off at this point. A) What video card exactly do you have? B) Check the things that aren't checked... ? C) What drivers do you have? "newest directx drivers" could mean DirectX itself or your video card manufacturer's drivers. Try: dxdiag in the run dialog box (Start->Run), click the Save All Information, open the resulting text file, and copy all the way to start of the Sound Devic
Drengin had 1080 military power (which is a relative number, 100 being average or such) in my first Normal game. Only thing that killed them was my convincing the good races to attack them, and paying the other races 2000bc each to do so.
I'm thinking this post should be ignored.
Research the hull upgrades, from Xeno Engineering -> Basic Logistics -> * Hulls. ( Techtree ) From there, create your own ships with the shipyard (that's the big button on the bottom that looks like a ship with a circle thing around it). The predefined ships are not very plentiful and don't use the most of the technology you've currently researched.
I can distinctly recall Gal Civ 1 killing trade routes of civs you're at war with. It flat-lined my economy several times.
I'd personally prefer if they put it in the Application Data directory like every other application, and provided a shortcut to it for easy access (Shortcut would point to %APPDATA%\GalCiv2 )
Uhh, what's wrong with having no rating exactly? Ratings are a crappy way of determing how much you'll like a game. Halo 2 got 100%s from some reviewers, but I'm sure many people on this site would rather play Gal Civ 2 or a good PC FPS.
It's thousands of times more stable than Tribes 2, and I stuck with that game for whatever insane reason.
Norton. Eggh. I wouldn't touch that thing with a stick. In fact, the steps I recommend anyone with that crap in their system takes are: 1. Uninstall and destroy any Norton CDs/boxes with a large sledge hammer. 2. Reformat/reinstall OS to remove Norton completely (it's stubborn). 3. Install Avast!, AVG (both free), or some other non-crap virus scanner that doesn't have all the additional "security" nonsense included. Your problems may stem from Norton, they may ste
Oh shoot, Star Control the game . I was thinking about literally controlling stars
Use the shipyard, design your own dang ships. It's the rightmost big icon on the bottom, the one that looks like a ship with a circle around it.
Like, moving stars around and ordering them to shoot at other stars? ?
Well, there's no way around the administrator problem as long as you're a limited account. You typically have to be a full account to install many things. You could always download something to recover the password, or you could just reinstall Windows.
Most of what you just said is a mystery to me. Anyways, hull research goes: Xeno Engineering -> Basic Logistics -> Advanced Hulls, and on from there. Are you not creating your own custom ships?
It works fine. Draaynk sounds right, it's got to be something on your end. You have something blocking you from accessing the .exe file. The text of the link is: ht tp:/ / storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_setup.exe Paste that into your address bar directly. Draaynk was foiled by the forum
